You're a great interviewer, almost reminds me of Howard Stern w/o all the sex jokes. You make them feel comfortable that they are willing to open up. It is so true how internet has changed things. Man you're great at this! This interview seems so natural, and calm. It I important to keep up with censorship rules and who's doing what in this day and age. You can never be too safe.
He made me laugh when he said that if they like the movie, they'll call it "romance and adventure," lol. On the dubbing -- I remember watching the extra content on the original Star Wars trilogy and was surprised when a lot of the actors had various accents from all over the UK (sometimes Australia, maybe??). I never realized that most of the characters in those movies were all overdubbed. I looked up that one word that started with "sl" but I don't want to type it out in case someone decides to flag me on it for some reason --- and it did show up in Wikipedia, lol. Must have come into existence via Joe! hahahaha. This was a really interesting interview, Chris! :)

Raiders?? Who knew! Lol Texas Chain Saw massacre, that's too funny. I remember when I'd watch old TV shows where couples couldn't sleep in the same bed, like the Dick Van Dyke show where they has 2 separate beds! I used to love those shows but could never understand what the heck that was about lol. That was silly censorship haha. The forbidden words shows how silly it all was. Great interview!

Hey Chris. Proud to subscribe to your channel! I am a fan of podcasts and subjects such as censorship in films (and music) are so vital to our 'culture' in the United States. Listening to this made me think of the recent 'Harley Quinn' movie which is rated 'R' but from what I have heard, what constitutes it being 'R' is the bare minimum that qualifies it. The gimmick is 'if its rated 'R' then it will sell more tickets'. Ridiculous...
Joe Bob always has the best takes on these types of issues. I know he's written a bit about copyright laws too in the past and he really knows his history and the repercussions of what laws get put on the books. Great guy and a great guest for your show!

A very interesting and entertaining interview. Boy things have certainly changed over the years, especially concerning censorship of violence on TV. It is hard to believe how violent some of the shows are now, for example on Netflix. Thanks for sharing.

In the 80's the UK went through the Video Nasties era where you could get sent to prison for having certain horror movies. People had to smuggle horror movies from mainland Europe into the UK. Crazy!
Hey Chris!! Interesting on Joe's perspective of censorship and such. Would never know that PG 13 started due to Raiders of the Lost Ark. Definitely an interesting conversation on this.. and how things changed/progressed. Love when he talked about forbidden words, and all the sudden his made up words would show up!!
