We are stopping in IAD in business class for a 5 hr la😮yover b4 continuing to Spain. Would a local friend from Reston be able to stop and visit for a short time, be able to get in? If not where would be another option to meet someone?
You would have to exit security and meet them in the pre-security area of the airport. Unfortunately IAD doesn't have much out there except some benches to sit on and a cafe or two. Almost all of the airport is past security.
I had a pass from United but was not flying with United that day - I'm not sure if they have agreements with any other airlines. One thing to consider is that the lounges are in the domestic terminals, so you'll have a longer walk to your gate than if you pick one of the lounges in the international terminal.
@@FirsthandGlobetrotting - yeah I flew Dulles to Tokyo and arrived at the airport early to take advantage of the lounge for a while before flying and it was much nicer. Not as nice as the one at LAX, but much better than the one you experienced here. Thanks for the video.
It was interesting to see.

Friends of mine worked concierge and bars.
Can I enter any of the United Clubs at Dulles if I’m not a member but do have an international flight in business class? Thanks

Doesn’t look as swank as United Clubs I’ve been to in Chicago and Los Angeles.
I know at Dulles they have a few, so I'm guessing this must be one of the more "average" ones and they have some higher-end lounges in some places.
