While the Tyranids are described as an unbeatable threat that will eventually overrun everything, I don't think that's gonna happen. The reason for it is simply common sense. There's way too many things going on in the 40k universe for the whole galaxy to be "eaten" by a faction of hive minded alien monsters. They will always write a way to beat them, even if only temporarily. I also believe the tyranids are only a "supporting actor" on the grand stage of 40k as I think the protagonists were always the Imperium and forces of Chaos.
@@GrimDarkNarrator That makes logical sense to me. I also agree the Imperium and Chaos are the two main actors in this universe. Tyranids are still badass though with all their living weapons and what not
I think they could be a legitimate threat, if not to Mankind/The Imperium, or even the Tau or Craftworld Aeldari, I will shamelessly plug an idea that is, tmk, original: Kill off Slaanesh. That disgusting/beautiful/sexy/creepy fucker is a PR NIGHTMARE and the ‘Nids could easily nomnomnom Comarragh, and big S/Her/whatever and then have the (seemingly unstoppable) Hive Fleet(s) succumb to Chaotic corruption and become just another faction in an endlessly GRIMDARK setting (want Emp back, tho ffs.) that might be something (imo) more appropriate for a teenager or more sensitive young adult, canon is improved. Edit: cause already a damned essay: I think the Drukari, or w/e (dark elves) should just get Squat’d - maybe a few get away. Just thought about the Nids we see as light Scouts to 1.) a vast extragalactic intelligence that will be trying to eat the Multiverse or 2.) products of the Old Ones - who are either exceedingly rare and each would be at least Emperor-level as he is known to have cheated a bit; otherwise, more disturbingly imo, to find the tech and corpses of these God-beings among God-beings... and realizing the “Great Devourer” that nearly ended the Milky Way was a pretender... a scavenger that isn’t even a minnow amongst leviathans. I think 2 is more convincing but, either and more would work. Just to clarify, that’s all made up, not more than idle speculation.

No, they can´t, Tyranids are almost immune to any biological and chemical weapons, the only way to get past their resistances is to tailor a specific virus to a Splinterfleet. To do that, you would need a sample of the Fleet´s unmodified genetic stock, as the Tyranids immune system immediately destroys anything, that doesn´t carry their own genetic information. Such samples can only be obtained from very high bioforms, Norn-queens and above, so that is a pretty difficult task, especially because the hivemind knows of this weakness and is doing everything to protect itself, going so far as to kill and destroy Norn-queens in risk of capture. Nonetheless, there are Deathwatch-squads actively hunting for Gene-samples, and they have had success on some occasions, wiping out Splinter-fleets with engineered viruses.
Life Eater Virus was able to kill anything and turn any organic matter to the form of rotting soup/blob. But imperium never used this type of the Holy Exterminatus on the nids, because of the fear. That Hive Mind will copy Life Eater or creates something even worse then LE Virus based on the samples of the original weapon.
glad you continued this series. great work
I'm curious if anyone in this channel thinks the Tyranids are truly going to win or if eventually the hive fleets will run out

Hmmm, possible xeno sympathizer. Better purge just to be safe.
Couldn't virus bombs wipe out a Hive Fleet?

@@Daimon-X Wait.. the Tyranids are supposed to absorb organics. Not destroy it so there would be no use to incorporate it.
@@Daimon-X sometimes you need to roll the dice. If the Imperium has a universal bug spay then use it. If not we are screwed anyway.
