If you aren't armoured up as much as possible, your Prayer self (make sure its at 3/3 as well) won't be as armoured up either. In this vid I'm using Lords armour with a flawless power rune on each slot
Wow! I don't understand what's happening here, can you explain more? I get that Shift and Prayer make the boss not target you all that well. But how are you able to kill him with just one hit? Is it just the combination of the Shift backstab and Peacemaker?
Thats exactly it. If you dont get the position just right (and make sure you're both still before attacking) you might only do 3/4 of his HP in damage instead. Though if you have the accessory from a previous playthrough that grants 25% bonus damage (wish I had it) this would be even easier.

theres an easier way to cheese him anyways now, he doesnt even attack
