I just wanted to say I found your channel yesterday and love it. I have a friend who is a vet and she has a service dog. She was so impressed by the not letting people just come up and petting your service dog she is the same way. She will even scold people for just walking up and touching her animal. She doesn't mind if she is home but not when she is working. I am in my wheelchair for years and I must say it sucks but I love the fact with you that your informed so well thanks for putting the right information out there.
where i live if i take my service dog to a store and she only has her leash that says service dog on it people dont seem to get the message but if shes wearing her vest most of them do. i had a lady totally ignore her service dog leash and try and pet her, her excuse was small dogs cant be service animals so im allowed to touch it, i was just like first off bitch if shes wearing the attire dont touch if it says dont touch second you need to ask before grabbing at my dog
I’m gonna be a middle schooler with a service dog, yes MIDDLE SCHOOL. We are all already going through puberty and body changes and stress, now I’m probably gonna have the stress of having a dog in school. Man middle school sucks.
I am currently trying to get a service dog for psychiatric needs and other things (i get dizzy spells and pass out) and I’m also in middle school so i just have to try to build up the courage to ask for one do any of you have any tips? Also do you get one from an organization or self train? I was thinking about getting mine from paws4people cause i really don’t have the time to train a dog
I am a dog lover and its so great to see that you guys have service dogs in school! I love all your accessories too! I do have some questions though. I’ve never watched your videos before. I just came across it. You don’t appear to have any problems that would require this type of assistance. I do realize that not all issues are visible or obvious but as i watch this video, i do feel puzzled. What qualifies a person to have a service dog? I have a friend who’s daughter is 11 yrs old and for the past year, she’s been obsessed with service dogs! She tries to convince her mom that she has “depression and severe anxiety” disorder so that she can get a service dog! LOL! Next, it was a seizure disorder! She’s been watching these videos about service dogs so she learns about why kids get them. So, she finally understands that she cant get a service dog and so she’s decided that when she grows up, she wants to train service dogs for people! 😁Anyway, I know they’re a blessing for people who need them but i was just wondering what would happen if more and more kids and adults have them for various reasons. I saw a lady in the grocery store with a dog that wore a service dog vest but this was obviously not a real service dog! I found it offensive because that really hurts people who really do need them.
you have to be legally disabled. i have a service dog for ptsd and autism and at first glance i seem normal but if im alone and im under distress i tend to hit myself and if im having a ptsd attack and im not restrained i would end up in the hospital. maddie (visual moss) also has ptsd and other diagnoses that are in her video descriptions. from what ive seen of her, she has episodes and cloud keeps her safe.
I used to think things like prongs and e-collars are harmful and cruel to dogs but then I did my research and saw how much it helps and the good of them :). So if you think that they are harmful and mean to the dog, please do your research. If you still don’t change your mind that’s ok but don’t complain to people about it.
I’m “researching” or studying about service dogs for my OCs (original characters). I want to be more diverse with my characters! For example, I’m trying to give some of my characters disabilities or diseases. Even though I’m not apart of the service animal community, I appreciate your videos! Have a good day! :D
I like that idea! Being inclusive is always great, it makes people feel more seen and can get a personal attachment to a character :D Edit : Just make sure u do research on any diseases/disabilities thoroughly and only use reliable sources.
This video helped so much my dog (rocky) is in training but he he do the main tasks really fluently now my anxiety attacks has gotten ALOT worse so I desided to train him for a service dog 🦮 in September I’m bringing him into school for the first time his “heal” has gotten slot better and now stays right by my side all the time I was wondering what was it like when you first walked in with cloud at you school and second what happens if your service dog needs to go to the toilet while ur at school?
Ok quick question. I know everything about service dogs and animals. But recently I went to New York. And I was walking and a dog went up to me and sniffed my shoes I went down to pet it but then I realized it was a service dog. And when I was about to apologize, the owner goes “ NO Don’t pet it don’t you know it’s a service dog! Your distracting him from working” then he kept walking. But he said it in the rudest way I didn’t even know it was a service dog until I was about to pet him. Do you think that was ok for him to say that? Just asking cause after all the dog came to me.
I definitely don’t think that the handler should have acted like that. His dog did sniff your shoe which a service dog shouldn’t do. Not saying that his dog isn’t a legit SD but the dog shouldn’t have came up to you. You didn’t know and you were trying to apologize. I’m sorry that happened to you.
I have PTSD but I don’t think my parents would get me a service dog for it. I just had a panic attack but I serviced without it. I do get anxious and anxiety a lot but I deal with it. A lot of people don’t get service dogs till they are older and I am only 11 I got PTSD when I was 9
In my opinion it doesn't matter how old you are,if I were you I would mention it to your therapist and see what they say, also make sure you do the reaserch so you can tell your parents how beneficial it would be.
While you can tell your parents and therapist/psychiatrist about it, you do have to be at least twelve to own a service dog if it isn’t for a child with autism.
hey looking at your merch. what about something for the dog fans I dont know maybe a bandanna or something with your title service dog high school or something like that
I hope I get a service dog. They say I can get one for free. It'll be for my autism but my apartment manager said we can only have one pet. I have a cat.
I have panic attacks multiple times a day but my parents think I’m faking it I have major anxiety and panic attacks(like I said) any help on talking to them about it would be appreciated
There's a really nice shelter dog that i want, and if i ever were to get him he's be my service dog in training. I kinda lowkey wanna get him my schools hoodie.
Hi! I’m new to your channel and just watched the video where you show what it’s like to take Cloud to high school. Her harness was so cute!! Where did you get it?
Though it is illegal for them to not allow your service dog, you still need to provide evidence that it is necessary for you to have the dog. A doctors note will due just fine for that purpose.
Well ... If it's a public school. They do have to let you. It's a long process for some, and it would HELP if you could provide a note, or recommendation even. And if you have an IEP or 504 plan it will help with the process since there is already a plan in place that states you have some kind of disorder, illness, disability, or other trouble of some kind within the school.
Kind of random but I hope all the service dog handlers that have had problems with Walmart sue the hell out of Walmart. Because they will let a untrained dogs with a vest off of Amazon come in and even when they bark at people still let them be inside. But they won’t let service dogs without a vest that is being good in WTF Walmart
Avyarmy 3 a dog only needs to be fed an actual meal two or three times a day (usually two morning and night) most people like to treat after a dog does a task or is in a new situation and many other reasons.with water yes she probably does drink through pout the day as you should provide you animals with an unlimited supply of water no matter the situation. Wipe the mouth after to prevent drool or slobber 😆
Service dogs are allowed to go with you everywhere. They are medical equipment, and denying a service dog access to the school is discrimination and illegal.
im getting a service dog for extreme anxiety disorders, I'm starting my first year of high school soon. does my service dog go to school with me every day?
Cbd oil is used as a medical aid. I guess. I have cbd dog treats that I'll give my dog before I go out. Y'all need to chill, it's not like the dog is shooting heroin or snorting crack
Isaac I know you didn’t ask me. But they tend to be very dramatic and very high maintenance and full of energy. They might (key word might) be harder to train. If you want to try a husky go for it but they do tend to be harder to train and harder to keep calm at some times. I really hope this helps!! :)
I have three service dogs with me and this video was great, a got a couple ideas from it. But I'm honestly surprised your dog is able to be Classified as one when it has anxiety and since she's older it may be harder to train get out of it . Not saying your dog isn't legit or doesn't help , it's just shocking to meet one with anxiety and be a service dog. But as long as the tasks are done YOLO. Gotta love em
?? Ummm, I can point out several service dog's in training that go to school. My SDit goes to COLLEGE with me. Along with multiple other handlers who bring their SDit's with them to school. They have to learn, and also, they have to meet requirements before just being brought out into public anyways. Our SDit's do tasks, have obedience down, and PA down. I would say your comment was an opinion, so, respectfully, maybe keep it to yourself? Every handler chooses to train their dog differently while also following the laws. In many states SDit's have full PA rights just as fully trained SDs. Lets try to add some positivity to this SD community and keep personal opinions to ourselves unless it is asked for.👍 Its hard enough being disabled without everyone always coming down on you for something. We need to uplift each other and stop putting our own personal beliefs and opinions on others. Again, I'm not trying to be rude, I just try to point out these things to people. 💜
wolfsongworkshop@gmail.com my channel has nothing to do with anything :/ most states don't cover service dogs in training. Under the Ada doesn't cover service dogs and training and says they must be trained before going into public. A service dog should be trained before going into a school which is loud and crowded with a ton of things to be distracted by. Not only that but people will want to distract it. I have a service dog and my school wants her completely trained before coming to school with me.
You're opinion. SDIT's if state allows, they are welcomed to schools as long as they are used to the surroundings and are potty trained. Please educate yourself
Can't wait to see Cloud in her little boots this winter 😍💕

If your reading this have a nice day 😊 and if someone is being mean to you just think of them pooping there pants.

Right! Wow! I can’t believe she said that she’s “allowed”!!! People are so stupid! people do need to ask before they touch any dog!
I’m gonna be a middle schooler with a service dog, yes MIDDLE SCHOOL. We are all already going through puberty and body changes and stress, now I’m probably gonna have the stress of having a dog in school. Man middle school sucks.
i felt this very hard. i got mine a while ago and she’s still in training and i’m gonna start bringing her to school next year when i’m in 8th grade.
I’m a middle schooler with a service dog too

I executed my own research and had her use it on me
You can always ask We Train - they seem to know EVERYTHING about dog training....
Thank you I used to be against it but I did my research like you suggested and now I understand that its not hurting the dogs.

Can you take a service dog in training to school if they know how to task and alert. And of course under control

How did you get the school to allow your service dog?
@Sydnie Kelley Oh ok thank you

im getting a service dog for extreme anxiety disorders, I'm starting my first year of high school soon. does my service dog go to school with me every day?
Yes, your service dog goes with you everywhere. It’s like an inhaler, you don’t leave it at home if you’re going to school, because you need it.

It must be so nice to have a companion with you all day. In my school a service dog would be probably killed. Yeah it’s rough.
Fantastic
I'm sorry and you know your dog best but? If your SDiT has anxiety in crowds then maybe you need to consider if working really makes her happy.
