  • I have taken the time to test the new APEX PERFORMANCE high flow (open flow) air chuck to see if it is worth spending money on, and just how much time you will save when it comes time to air back up when you have finished a day on the trail.
    Parts used in this test:
APEX high flow air chuck: www.apexdesignsusa.com/produc...
    Apex Rapid Deflate Valve: www.apexdesignsusa.com/produc...
    ARB Twin Air Compressor: www.northridge4x4.com/part/ck...

Seems to me you’d spend an extra 13 seconds screwing the chuck on vs the press on. So net neutral.

I think you’re right. And the chuck is actually a bit finicky on getting it to line up the threads and screw on. You have to make sure to press down firmly to get it to start threading. So there have been a few times I had to fight with it to get it to go on.

Get a dual compressor and you won't care what chuck you use.. They're suuuuuuuuper quick. I aired up my rig and another guy before another finished 3 tires on his jeep... No special chuck needed.... At all.

This is true. Compressor makes a massive difference. I use the ARB dual in my TJ and it has a been a reliable addition for years.
