The history of the construction of Wat Kudi Dao is not clear. appear in books The Northern Chronicles say that Phraya Thammikarat which was the son of King Sai Nam Phueng, built in Chula Sakarat 671, Year of the Rabbit, Eksaka and the Empress Dowager His Majesty built Wat Maheyong together. In the testimony of Khun Luang Ha Wat, it is stated that "...His Majesty the King built Wat Kuti Dao (Kuditwa) and Phra Phuminthrathibodi built the temple. Maheyong" but many editions of the Royal Chronicles of Ayutthaya state that "...His Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn (Chao Sam Phraya) built Wat Maheyong and there is no mention of Wat Kudi Dao. Until the late Ayutthaya period When there is restoration Wat Maheyong, a big time during the reign of King Tai Sa..." Therefore, it can be assumed that Wat Kudi Dao was probably built around the same time as Wat Maheyong. or a little after Wat Maheyong
But the evidence of the restoration has the same content. Wat Kudi Dao was renovated by His Majesty King Borommakot, who at that time held the title Krommaphra Rajawang Bowon Sathan Mongkol. Around the year 1711-1715, by 1715, a large temple celebration was held. As the text reads: "...in the Year of the Goat, the Phra Maha Viceroy ordered a celebration at Wat Kudi Dao. Perform royal merit by giving many offerings to the Triple Gem. Let the celebration be played for 7 days. The celebration is complete.
After this, there were no further stories of Wat Kudi Dao regarding construction or repairs. But it appears that Wat Kudi Dao is a royal temple. Evidence appears that when King Uthumporn first ascended the throne, he invited five royal monks to help negotiate and compromise with Prince Sam Krom. One of them is Phra Thepmuni Wat Kudi Dao who later became the Supreme Patriarch in the reign of King Ekthat

The ancient remains of Wat Kudi Dao are a group of ancient sites in the Phutthawas area. In the circle of the glass wall There is only the Pratumnak building. Or known as Kamalian only, the part outside the northern glass wall. It is understood that it may have been a monk's area in ancient times. But other residences have probably been ruined and lost over time. Because in ancient times it was popular to build with wood.
In the Phutthawas area It consists of a wall and an arch. Stretching from east to west. Surrounding the Phutthawas area The chapel is located in front of the temple and in front of the main pagoda. The side base has a sagging curve like the trunk of a junk in the Ayutthaya style. The building is currently in ruins. There are only 3 walls left: the front and both sides. The roof must have been a tiled roof that was completely broken, leaving only traces. Receptacle for beams and beams The main pagoda is located behind the chapel. At present, it is in ruins, with the top broken, only parts of the bell remaining. This chedi has probably been renovated at least 2 times. The temple is located behind the main chedi. The size of the building is smaller than the chapel. But the front and back porch bases are not recessed. The sides are curved, less slack than the chapel. There are 14 pagodas scattered in various places.
The outside wall consists of Only the base remains of the monks' quarters. Located outside the southern wall. Phra Tamnak or Kamlien is a 2-story building made of brick and cement. It is assumed that it was the residence of King Borommakot while he stayed to supervise the restoration of the temple. After that, he would probably give it to the temple. and may be used as an abbot's residence or Sacred Hall It has a pointed arch-shaped window. Inside the ground floor building, there are 2 rows of 8-sided piers, 10 per row.

อยุทธยาใหญ่กว่ากรุงเทพมากคงสวยมากในอดีตหลังจากสมเด็จพระนเรศวรกู้ชาติไทยไม่เคยมีศึกเลยชาวกรุงศรีทนุบำรุงบ้านเมืองและศาสนาโดยชะล่าใจว่าคงไม่มีศึกอีกความยิ่งใหญ่สวยงามรำ่รวยมำให้พระเจ้าอังวะคิดกำจัดเพราะกำลังทหารพร้อมแต่ไทยไม่ได้เตรียมเพื่อทำศึกสนุกสนานรำ่รวยอาวุธมิได้ฝึกซ้อมเราจึงแพ้อย่างยับเยินเกลือบสิ่นจึงแพ้ยับเยิน.
