Wat Maheyong, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province, an old temple before the establishment of Ayutthaya

- Wat Maheyong was originally a royal monastery for Vipassana business. that used to be very important in the past in the Ayutthaya period By His Majesty King Borommaratchathirat II 2 (Chao Sam Phraya) was built and has been renovated many times in many periods. But it has become an abandoned temple. It is understood that since the fall of Ayutthaya for the second time in 1767, a total of more than 200 years has passed. Currently, it is an abandoned temple in which the ancient remains and antiques that remain have largely been ruined. But there is enough of it as evidence of the exquisite construction art and the enormous beauty and level of importance of this monastery very well.
Historical and archaeological concepts regarding the construction of Wat Maheyong It has been divided into 2 approaches:
According to the Northern Chronicles, it is recorded that Queen Kalyani The wife of King Thammaraja (1844-1853), the 8th king of Ayodhya, was the creator of Wat Maheyong. which shows that Wat Maheyong was built in the Ayothaya period, at least 40 years before the establishment of Ayutthaya. As for the Royal Chronicles, It is said that in the year 786 Marong Sok era (1967 B.E.), Somdej Phra Boromma Rachathiratchao (Chao Sam Phraya), the king of Ayutthaya, was the one who built Wat Maheyong, while the Luang Prasert Aksornniti chronicle states that in the year 800 Marong Sok era (B.E. .1981) Somdet Boromrachathiratchao (Chao Sam Phraya) was the creator of Wat Maheyong. It has been analyzed that Wat Maheyong was built since the Ayothaya period. But it fell into disrepair over more than 100 years. Until the reign of King Borommaratchathirat, he saw that it was an old temple. Therefore, it was renovated and built to be larger from the existing structure. Wat Maheyong has undergone major renovations. During the reign of the king, the name Phra Bhumibol Adulyadej (The King at the end of the pond) in the Year of the Ox (late Ayutthaya period, 1709) Wat Maheyong was very prosperous in the Ayutthaya period. and continued to prosper until the fall of Ayutthaya in 1767. Inside Wat Maheyong, there is an ordination hall situated on a 2-story high base in descending order. The size of the temple is 18 meters wide and 36 meters long. It is considered to be the largest temple in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province. Behind the chapel to the west beyond the boundary of the glass wall. You will find Phra Chedi Than Chang Lom, which is the main chedi of Wat Maheyong. Located on Thaksin square base. Width and length of 32 meters on each side, surrounded by a glass wall. There are stairs leading up in all four directions. At Thaksin's base, there are 80 statues of stucco elephants standing and decorated along the arches around the base. The main pagoda at the top of the pagoda is broken from under the throne down. The lower base of the pagoda has a clearly visible four-sided Buddha image protruding from it.

ยินดีครับผมและต้องขออภัยเป็นอย่างสูงดนตรีจะดังมากในช่วงไตเติ้ลช่วงแรกครับประมาณ 1 นาทีหลังจากนั้นจะเป็นสาระดนตรี จะดังเบามากลองดูข้ามไปซักหนึ่งถึง 2 นาทีครับเสียงดนตรีจะเบาเสียงพูดจะชัมากช่วงไตเติ้ลเสียงจะดังมากหน่อยสำหรับเสียงดนตรีและต้องขออภัยเป็นอย่างสูงครับ 🙏
พึ่งรู้ว่าเป็นคนละวัด นึกว่าวัดสีกาสมุดเป็นวัดเดียวกันกับวัดมเหยงคณ์ที่มีอาณาเขตกว้างขวาง แต่ก็อย่างว่าแหละค่ะในวันที่ไปคือตะวันมันตกค่ำบ่ายคล้อยมากแล้ว จวนเจียนจะถึงเวลาที่เจ้าหน้าที่เขาใกล้จะปิดการเข้าชมแล้ว ก็เลยไม่เหลือเวลาได้เที่ยวชมอย่างทั่วถึงเท่าที่ควรค่ะ ออกจากตลาดน้ำอโยธยาก็ตรงดิ่งไปจอดตรงทางเข้าวัดมเหยงคณ์เลย ได้แค่เที่ยวชมวัดมเหยงคณ์เข้ากราบไหว้สักการะบูชาขอพรในอุโบสถ และเที่ยวชมรอบๆนิดๆหน่อยๆพอสมควรก็พากันรีบออกเพราะค่ำมากแล้วไม่เหลือนักท่องเที่ยวท่านอื่นๆแล้ว เสียดายวัดสีกาสมุดจังที่ไม่ได้เข้าชม
ไม่เป็นไรครับเดี๋ยวก็คงมีโอกาสได้ไปอีกอยุธยามีวัดอยู่เป็น 100 หรือเป็น 1000 เที่ยวยังไงก็ไม่หมดผมจะเข้าไปทำคลิปที่อยุธยาอยู่เรื่อยเรื่อยครับเผื่อเพื่อนเพื่อนท่านใดที่ไม่ค่อยได้มีโอกาสได้ไปอยุธยาได้ชมกันขอบคุณที่เข้ามาชมคลิปและส่งข้อความมาทักทายกันครับ 😇
