Double staff of unhealing with cauldron??

  • I just wanted to try a normal unhealing cauldron game on Reaper I swear.. sometimes things just turn out different than what we intend. Hope you enjoy the backpack battles game!

    I think the healing reduction shouldn't stack the way it is now.
    Currently if you have 20% and 40% reduction, it adds to 60% -> only 40% of heals go through.
    I think it would be better to have it stack in order so that
    20% reduction -> 80% of heals go through.
    Another 40% reduction -> 40% of 80% (=32%) is reduced -> In total 48% of heals go through.
    This way you'll never have 0 heals.

      I wouldnt like this. And it would be just to enable meme builds like unhealing and tanks with mega healing and Fatigue.
      It is fine like this, its just that you need equal amount of red gems to counter the purple ones.
      I you wanna buff unhealing I would say make it easier to get the staff so the player has recourcess left to get things they can actually place gems in.

      @moritzmehno770 The 8% difference in this example is minor as an opponent with a decent build. Unhealing wouldn't be a meme if it weren't nerfed to the ground and with tons of easy counters. Seeing a health pot give 0 healing is just ridiculous. Why even play any sustain at all? If it gave 3 health or something instead of 12, well that sucks but it's just a worse match up. 0 healing should not be a thing, just like 100% damage reduction shouldn't be a thing (looking at you, berserker)

      I feel like the healing boost should be able to directly counter heal reduction. I.e. if you have 25% heal increase, and the opponent has 40% reduction, it cancels out for only 15% reduction. Otherwise healing reduction makes healing increase completely worthless.
      The way it seems to currently work is healing reduction is applied separately and is therefore always *way* stronger. So if I have 80% increased healing, my heals should be giga-strong, but if the opponent has a Heart of Darkness for 40% reduction, that means for every 100 healing, I get 100 * 1.8 * 0.6 = 108 healing. So their 40% reduction from one item almost entirely counters my 80% increase from many items. If they have a Cap of Discomfort as well, then I would have 100 * 1.8 * 0.3 = 54 healing per 100 I should heal. So their 70% total reduction not only makes my 80% increase into a complete joke, it halves my healing as well.

    I feel like double broom, 3 healing herbs, full sand will always be a good opening on reaper. That's how I roll at least.

      Yep if you aren’t dogshit at the mid game you can easily climb to masters just doing this

    I feel like having one Mana Potion that you can upgrade, and then trigger with like a Stoneskin and a Divine or something would be good. You don't want too many mana potions - ironically with it providing 9 mana, you're at risk of topping up to 30 and then losing it all to your mana orbs. But having a trickle of mana from it plus other situational triggers seems strong to me.

    I think making green gems in backpack counter antihealing (and maybe give a flat healing bonus), might be where green gems find a use in back pack

    Reaper is my favourite character and i love cauldron builds but sadly other characters and builds are way to powerfull to make it work like a meta build. I've tried like you double staff one time and i was destroyed by a guy who had a lot of healing reduction too. I think they should buff cauldron (i mean add to it something that makes it usefull as other items, idk, something like if you trigger x potion you get a 3 random buffs or causes a random debuff) and put a limit to reduction of healing.
