They get progressively bigger, destructive and more twisted (seriosuly, conquering one single island to manipulating time and space itself). And now he's so hell bent on destroying Sonic at this point that getting rid of him quickly is top priority. And by generations and forces he's literally destroying anything and anyone remotely close to Sonic and / or what he represents.

This boss and this music feels like eggman has finally gone insane. He never wanted to acually "kill" sonic for good. This fight he's really giving his all because he can knock rings out of super sonic! Finally eggman has you where he wants you. Just a single platform, you, and eggman. No distractions.

For some reason, when I listen to the part from 2:35 to 3:12, I just start thinking about the fate of Maria Robotnik and the subsequent hatred/madness it induced into both Shadow and her grandfather, Gerald Robotnik. To see an innocent, sick girl get gunned down by a bunch of traitors that stabbed her grandfather in the back due to fear. I understand well why they wanted to destroy humanity, and the world with them. Like I could imagine this being part of a boss theme for either Gerald or Shadow, where the segment mentioned above references the tragic events that lead to the madness/anger in both their minds. Edit: It also explains quite a lot of Eggman's utter hatred and disgust with humanity, as it is largely their fault that his family has suffered such grevious losses. Yes, he is insane by all accounts, but he probably does not care as he feels that history itself supports his views.

Eggman always comes off as a goofy person trying to basically conquer a bunch of forest critters just to build a theme park, but songs like these remind you just how much of a nemeses he can be. The Metal Saga, the Death Egg, Metal Sonic, releasing Shadow, the fact that he basically already conquered the entire goddam planet in Sonic SatAM. It's one of those "the character" vs "the lore" things.
Ever since I was a kid I fucking loved this song. If this had dropped during the last fight I would have had such a weird emotional reaction. In a good way.

awesome job on that Remix, i was also a huge Sonic fan back in the day as well, and the Sonic 3 final boss with big arms was also my favorite boss theme music of all time and all of the video games ive ever played so far, i just can't get enough, thats the main reasons that makes Dr.Eggman/Robotnik a badass villain, i want him in smash but i dont think he will fit for 2 major reasons, 1st he's a brainiac with mechanics and doesnt have any combat abilities, 2nd since he only fights in his mech suits, they're either too big or wont have the right mobility and moveset to be a proper smash fighter, if he was in smash, he could only fit as an Assist trophy or as a boss fight and thats pretty much it Edit: the only way he could be in smash bros is his mech he uses in Sonic the Fighters from the arcade games
