I have a question for you, what if you invest via Robinhood and after investing Robinhood for one reason or another collapse how do you get you money back?
As a newbie that wants to invest, you must have these three things in mind 1. Have a long term mindset. 2. Be willing to take risk. 3. Be careful on money usage, if you're not spending to earn back, then stop spending. 4. Never claim to know - Ask questions and it's best you work with a financial advisor.
Helpful video. Thank u for explaining also about the expense ratios and other fees because most of TH-camrs don’t cause they are caught up in their business just to sell the product and get paid. Thank you so much again
Very helpful video. I'm not sure as a European (Italian) is it possible to use the same platform and ETF you recommended? Are the taxes attributed in Italy than?
Ciao venezianotherapy, i’m trying to learn about investing and I live in Italy and I watched videos also from Italian TH-camrs that saying invest in ETF or S&P 500 and I thought they are same platforms , aren’t they the same? Thanks in advance.
Hey Ryan, I am asking out of ignorance regarding investing. Are you suggesting one will benefit from investing consistently (DCA) in the S&P 500 with any brokerage for the next 10, 20-plus years? Ex: I will contribute $500 monthly to VOO every month for the next 20 years or make different investments monthly? I am trying to build a suitable portfolio.
So how do these hedge funds managers defend why their funds underperform the SP500? Are there still benefits of hedge funds over index funds? Are these hedge funds unnecessarily over diversified beyond the point of diminishing returns? Are these funds less volatile in the short turn?
Whilst socio economic factors should not be a reason for not investing, would you factor this in when deciding what amount to invest? heightened tensions in the middle east and , China taiwan saga etc ??
i know this is for long term investment but your hypothetical of only earning like 35k in 10 years is not much if you adjust inflation, i feel like it would only be worth half of that.
@@mavfroberg2775 Lowest fees I believe. .03% (3 cents per dollar) where other ETFs may charge 5 7 or 9 cents per dollar. When your $ gets bigger the fees become more meaningful. The most encouraging way to look at it is to think of the "savings" on fees as another dividend source. Money not being spent that can be reinvesting and snowballing. (small as it may be)
There aren't any annual expenses for buying individual stocks - just with most ETFs - if you look at the Stats in the Robinhood app it shows you the Expense Ratio there for ETFs
i have 250 k is it wise to invest in VOO for 20 to 25 years without adding more and reinvesting my dividends will that make me a millionaire thank you any advice will do
Your best bet is to dollar cost average versus lump sum investing, and you'll also want to consider diversifying into bonds as you get closer to retirement age - but yes that is very possible!
So my question is: what if I don't turn on the automatic dividend reinvestment option? does the money from the dividend go to my account for me to use however I see fit? Would appreciate any help.
WAIT! WTF they're taxing reinvested dividends too??? I didn't know that part, that makes it not worth it to me! And no I don't care about IRAs I plan on becoming a millionaire well before I'm a senior citizen the fuckkk

Lol imagine comparing safe and steady long term investing to zero day options. This video was literally aimed at beginners and you're cherry picking a good day in one single stocks options market.. what about the days before where the same trade would have decimated you 😂 80% of people lose money on CFDs and you've very little room to move on zero days, let alone leverage risk. Loads of people have lost everything on zero days. If you're so confident pick the stock and tell us the trades you're making, maybe then we can all buy your course

Great Video,
VTI guy myself… I would love to hear a VOO vs VTI debate (Long-Term 35 years). Although maybe the difference isn’t that big ultimately.
Thanks for the comment, great suggestion for a future video!

Reflecting on 2022, the S&P 500's 20% drop creates an advantageous entry point for 2023.

Is it a good idea to buy VOO once every month..like 500dollars a month… instead of investing bunch of money at once ?
Dollar cost averaging is definitely the recommended approach - as you described!
Is the S&p500 ok if you would just take constant eight percent?
Great video! Thanks! If I don't want to invest through Robinhood, what are the alternatives?
Fidelity and Charles Schwab are very popular
@RyanScribner I'm here in Ireland and it seems most offerings need a fairly large deposit to open and international account?
Any reason why you buy VOO in Robinhood instead of Vanguard's own brokerage account ?
It would just come down to personal preference, Robinhood has a more user friendly app
@@RyanScribner fair enough

No shit Sherlock
Would i benefit from buying one single S&P share today ?
Over the long run yes, but dollar cost averaging (buying on a routine schedule) is best!

You made me create an account with robinhood for S&P 500 but they don't support it ;)
They do! Just search for "VOO" or "Vanguard" and it'll pop up as an option
Buy VOO
This stock is not supported on Robinhood.
Definitely is, are you sure you are searching for it correctly? I just bought additional fractional shares of VOO for a video I am working on

What do you think of spus
Hi to register there are just to options US and UK, not for the EU residence.any chance for that in the future?
If I purchase voo through my robinhood roth ira, I can't invest more than 7k for the calendar year. Is that correct?
Correct
is there a risk or a negative to doing this through an ap like robin hood vs going through the vanguard website?
Nope, unless you prefer one platform over the other in terms of the User Experience
