Skater xl and session is whack to me...the board barely makes a pop noise or a grind noise..they both just seem like really cheap crappy games..def harder to play than skate but that’s not why I don’t like them.

I think a part of it is that while the games might have the gravity set to a realistic value, due to the higher jump force and air time, it feels floaty. In real life, during ollies and such, a lot of the height motion/jump height is actually in the knees bending while in air, and not in the actual height the body travels when jumping (when you compare the height difference of the head between before ollieing and after when you have reached your highest air point with the height difference that the board or the feet have)
Hahahahaha! I'm almost 40. Skate 4 is going to happen. Skater XL has been a great replacement. It is the only ps4 game I have purchased this year and first day one purchase since RDR2. I don't game or really keep up with many games...

Skate 2 is the best example of why Skater XL and Session are way too empty in what's going on in the way. They really _must_ add NPCs IMHO. Pedestrians who jump out of the way or other skaters doesn't matter. But the new games definitely are lacking there.
The skate series also had a big company backing them and a bigger budget. Skater XL and Session are both ran by small studios so I think that’s why it feels less. I totally agree with you though but I try to cut them some slack for that reason. It definitely feels that Easy Day and Crea-ture studios are more fan oriented unlike EA who just wants revenue.
I wish they will focus on the player's animations even more than skate 3, like choosing between several kickflip animations or treflip etc, i'm pretty sure there will be micro transaction but if it's well done it's cool 👍 Also i will be kinda disappointed if they keep the one stick control because it will mean no 540 double flip or nightmare flip etc but whatever they'll do i'm super excited for skate 4 !!!
December 31st is a pretty typical placeholder date for games that end up coming out the following year of said year. That being said, I expect Skate 4 (or whatever it'll be called) to be fully revealed at E3/EA Play 2021 and to release in summer or early fall of 2022.
i think in skate 4 instead of easy normal hard, they should have trickline, 1+2, and sim mode. and they need to fix the framerate on cameraman mode and skate parks. smooth 60 to 120 fps all the way. and there needs to be a dlc for the most iconic spots in all main maps.
I've heard from inside sources that S4 has been in development for at least a year now. So that release date, while speculative, seems very reasonable, but also somewhat rushed at the same time. I doubt it's going to be that good to be honest; especially in comparison to Skater XL in terms of gameplay--unless they do something very different and unexpected. But it's going to have to be a next gen title, and that could be their only advantage over the other titles.
For real? Then we should be seeing something next year. I want to see one trailer at the very least. I'd take a guess and say Q1-2 of 2022 if we go off your comment, or earlier with holiday 2021. They will likely bring the Flick-it controls back as well, except they might go the Skater XL route with a type of free flip or total board control mode. It would be a mistake at this point to not do this, considering SXL and Session are doing this control scheme. The devs will have their own spin on the formula, I'm sure. I am looking forward to SKATE 4, 'bout time our old homie came back. There's a lot of people saying it will be crap because of the potential for microtransactions with boards and clothing. That's a very real possibility, but if it plays good, then I don't care. Just don't buy the extra crap. However, I can see why EA might want a game like SKATE to be monetized this way. While SKATE was popular, it didn't sell like EA's other titles. It sold well, just not enough to continue to get sequels. If it takes SKATE being monetized to come back, then so be it. This is a double-edged sword. This will give the game a source of income to make up for any losses in projected sales, but also allows us to enjoy another entry in the series. I really hope it plays as good as the old games. Keep your fingers crossed dudes and dudettes.

At this point I don't think Skate 4 can get any betted than XL with stat mod, so I think they should aim for the same idea as the first 3 but with a better story mode with life like graphics

I feel like a broken record on this.. But skate 4 wasn't technically announced. Some form of an addition to the ea skate franchise was announced. There's just as much likelihood its the mobile version of skate 3 (given the conversations that Jason dill mentioned) as there is it being a new entry.

it's funny how skate 2 have way better graphics than skate 3. Also better story mode and a coller map even thought I really enjoy the spots in skate 3. I wish that they added some stuff to the story mode like demos, pro board, maybe some option on buying a place to live IDK, it's kinda boring that the story mode is your skater crashing into Pro's sessions and getting a clip or a photo. Also i like how you can change the time of day in Session and I think you can change board sizes too, That would be dope in Skate 4
Skate 4 needs to be open world multiple cities. No skate zones with guards. A good story mode with different endings depending on the choices you make. Mega ramp parks. Licensed skate league competition in the game
I think their a year late unless they can lock down every detail and realistic feature we're missing so far. I want to see a game size lever with travel features. They should join up with Rockstar and create something with a story and massive level. Just hopes and dreams though. I'd be happy with real wear and tear on all objects, proper bails and real mutiplayer.

For the Pro: I would love to see another THPS pros in Skate 4 like Jamie Thomas or maybe Riley Hawk on there. Kinda interesting if they add Louie Barletta and Deedz since Jerry Hsu would be absent because he's not in enjoi and Chocolate again. Also, I would concern that some Pros who was in Skate series will not added because they're already retired (Rob Dyrdek for example) but worth to see another skater who will place his position for that.
Imagine if we got the 2k treatment with character customization also I like how you'd get chased by security in some places also better walking/running/jumping animations oh and a better online and better open world.

We have been blessed recently with skating games, thank u skate gods.. but this game will dominate it's own catagory, just as session is different from xl.. the biggest judge will be the consoul versions since its limited content .. let's see what ea has in mind.
I doubt they release it by 2022. Because if they are just starting all the coding, graphics, and controls, it will probably come out like late 2023. If they REALLY want it to be good. But I could be wrong. Maybe they've been secretly working on it in the beginning of 2019. Idk.
check it Skate 1 map combined with Skate 2 specifically the res and suburbs of Skate 1, and the Old Town and City of Skate 2 but of course a little bit dumbed down. The gameplay has to be an updated version of Skate 3, and the soundtrack Anything like Skate 1's then i think we have a great Skate 4. Story wise Anything like Skate 1 combined with 3. Certain elements like making a board company and crew was awesome but i do think it needed to be more refined. Bring back THE RES, SLAPPYS, and all their characters even Fabio, try get every Pro and please get Prod, GONZ and who ever was left out of Skate 2 and 3. if these things happen i think im set for the next 10 years again.*
I do not see how Skate 4 will make a lot of money (which is why EA wants to make it) when games like Skater XL exist. They would need to bring something really exceptional to the table.
If they don't update the controls to dual sticks then I'm not interested. EA Skate broke ground when it toppled THPS back in the day, but now they're going to have to up their game cause that single stick input is whack compared to what we can do on skaterXL and Session.
It would be so cool if the entire game was online and there were no AI skaters, just real skateboarders with unique styles and tricks they do. With all the cool friendly guys and asshole griefers and all that. Make the game look better through the players yk?
I know how EA can improve the skate series, they SHOULD improve the character customisation!! It lacked so much and I thought no matter how you make your character they are always looking the same obviously this isn't the case if you choose female or male characters, a good example of this is that in Skate 3 (I don't know about 1 or 2) but if you decide to have tattoos on a character why can you only have one tattoo on he entire character???

I want some spots from skate 3,2, and 1, and more spots, including real life spots. I want a good story mode, and I want it to be like a better skate 2. I also want like NS said more difficulty levels, not just easy normal and hard. I wish it was backwards compatible. I also want some real skaters in there, including modern skaters and popular skate players, like ZexyZek and EFH skins too. I also want skill levels, such as a skater that is really good at grab tricks and not flip tricks or vice versa.

Skate 3 with new tricks and bomb graphics and a huge open world. I think it will be good. Hopefully they keep double body flips.
Shout out speeds... so to comment on topic too.. ea, they will SMASH when this drops. They wont release a beta as xl and sessions are for starts.. this game will consist of everything we can expect, maps we know we will love, it will come down to the controls. We have been blessed recently with skating games, thank u skate gods.. but this game will dominate it's own catagory, just as session is different from xl.. the biggest judge will be the consoul versions since its limited content .. let's see what ea has in mind.
I doubt they release it by 2022. Because if they are just starting all the coding, graphics, and controls, it will probably come out like late 2023. If they REALLY want it to be good. But I could be wrong. Maybe they've been secretly working on it in the beginning of 2019. Idk.

Why does your games play so smooth? I'm on PS3 and it's insanely laggy
check it Skate 1 map combined with Skate 2 specifically the res and suburbs of Skate 1, and the Old Town and City of Skate 2 but of course a little bit dumbed down. The gameplay has to be an updated version of Skate 3, and the soundtrack Anything like Skate 1's then i think we have a great Skate 4. Story wise Anything like Skate 1 combined with 3. Certain elements like making a board company and crew was awesome but i do think it needed to be more refined. Bring back THE RES, SLAPPYS, and all their characters even Fabio, try get every Pro and please get Prod, GONZ and who ever was left out of Skate 2 and 3. if these things happen i think im set for the next 10 years again.*
I do not see how Skate 4 will make a lot of money (which is why EA wants to make it) when games like Skater XL exist. They would need to bring something really exceptional to the table.
If they don't update the controls to dual sticks then I'm not interested. EA Skate broke ground when it toppled THPS back in the day, but now they're going to have to up their game cause that single stick input is whack compared to what we can do on skaterXL and Session.
Tbh tricks in this game look 1000% better than SkaterXL or session. It is just miles ahead in terms of smoothness and steaze
It would be so cool if the entire game was online and there were no AI skaters, just real skateboarders with unique styles and tricks they do. With all the cool friendly guys and asshole griefers and all that. Make the game look better through the players yk?
I know how EA can improve the skate series, they SHOULD improve the character customisation!! It lacked so much and I thought no matter how you make your character they are always looking the same obviously this isn't the case if you choose female or male characters, a good example of this is that in Skate 3 (I don't know about 1 or 2) but if you decide to have tattoos on a character why can you only have one tattoo on he entire character???
alrighty there's so much I want in the new skate game, so this is about to be a whole ass paragraph, but I want better graphics (duh) and I want the graphics creator back, more customization and more tricks. I want some spots from skate 3,2, and 1, and more spots, including real life spots. I want a good story mode, and I want it to be like a better skate 2. I also want like NS said more difficulty levels, not just easy normal and hard. I wish it was backwards compatible. I also want some real skaters in there, including modern skaters and popular skate players, like ZexyZek and EFH skins too. I also want skill levels, such as a skater that is really good at grab tricks and not flip tricks or vice versa.
Realistic falls and injuries. Imagine you break your ankle or wrist and your character starts screaming in pain. Obviously the ability to turn this on and off would be cool. Please NO EASY MODE you f**king easy mode tools
