Literally hate Ben, but seeing him walk away from the rainbow wave…just the symbolism there made me so emotional for everyone else out there who can never be themselves 😭😭
@@clarice8693 I can only feel bad for Charlie during this scene. He was so strong. After being continuously harassed, he stands strong and listens to someone who won't leave him alone speak. He didn't have to, and honestly shouldn't have had to (since Ben should have left him alone), but he did, and faced his trauma and spoke up for himself. Charlie is such a strong character.
As someone in the aroace community, I am so happy for Isaac's storyline this season and I hope they give him a chance to talk to his friend group about it in the next season!
@@-Aquablue- it wasn't great, so close to what he needed to hear. But I don't blame him, he seems so nice and probably hadn't concidered the possibility and from his perspective was being reassuring about it and saying its okay if you don't like me romantically. I hope they can still be friends and he can come to understand more and doesn't try to talk him out of his own feelings.
Darcy's storyline added so many layers to her character. She's so positive, energtic, enthusiastic, funny yet her household is literally hell and depressing. I feel like I'm more connected to all the characters this season. They're all my babies 😔😔❤
Fun fact about the woman who plays Darcy’s mom. Her name is Rachel Sterling and she’s Diana Rigg’s daughter. She played a lesbian in the mini series Tipping the Velvet. Now she’s a homophobic witch. Yikes
I love how they contrasted Darcy’s family life with Ben’s. How Darcy turned her homophobic mom, into living her life authentically outside her house. With Ben, he internalized it all and hurt others because he was hurting. Edit: they announced season 3 along with their announcement for season 2.
I was probably the only person screaming “Don’t say it yet!!” At the screen because I know how it happens in the comics. The real “I love you scene is too iconic to change.”
Couple of little fun facts: the musician performing at prom was Baby Queen - she’s had songs on both S1 and S2 and specifically wrote “Colours of You” for Nick and Charlie! Also the final song “ur so pretty” is by Wasia Project, which is Will Gao’s (who plays Tao) band
Apparently they didn't even pay for the use of Taylor's song. They showed her the scene and she loved it so much, she just gave them permission to use it.
That’s cool. When I heard Taylor Swift, I said to myself “They must’ve used that Cadbury product placement money to pay for the rights to this. We love a balanced budget!” 😂
Ben is the most tragic example of the phrase, hurt people hurt people. It's unfortunate that there are people so poisoned that they can't help but infect everyone around them. You can hope they find a way to heal, but you don't owe it to them to stick around. Also, Tori's got bodies hidden. No one is convincing me otherwise. Great reactions to this season!!
I can't believe I said almost the same words about Ben. His representation of a toxic character and all the damage they cause is so important. See the signs and run away people! They are not good relationship partners.
But Darcy is the perfect example that hurt people don't HAVE to hurt people. Ben could've made a different choice. Nobody forced him to be like that. Darcy's home life is hell as well and she's an absolute sunshine of a person anyway.
I actually feel sorry for Ben. His actions were despicable, and he is coming to realize that, while he sees these blossoming relationships all around him. I would hate to think he's lost out on finding his better angels and would love to see the group have a serious talk with him. Otherwise, he could spiral into worse behaviour, fueled by envy and rejection, leading to . . . stalking? retribution? His parents, and Darcy's, need to attend a PFLAG meeting!
@@jaygatz4335I mean I hope he will be better BUT he need to stay away from Charlie... the damage is done, he cant find salvation by staying around someone he hurt so bad
Love your heart-felt reaction! The last scene between Charlie and Nick shows the depth and talent of their acting. And I appreciate that the characters are mature enough to avoid histrionics, listen to each other, and just calmly speak their truth. This is how you discuss issues, folks. Nick's tears when he hugged Charlie made this moment so poignant and exquisite - it's hard to believe it was mere acting.
The report is that it took 7 hours to shoot all of that, and when they were done Kit and Joe were so emotionally wrenched and wrung out they each had to just be alone for an hour or so.
Thank you for reacting so quickly to this season. I literally binged it without moving from my seat and needed your commentary immediately. Charlie talking to Nick about how he’s internalized the bullying broke me into a million tiny pieces.
There you go, I'm still crying. Healed but devastated, feels right. ; Isaac's storyline killed me. It's the 1st time I identify with a caracter on a show. Going through teenagehood as ace was difficult and I'm glad that a new generation has this show to tell them they're valid and seen. As a teen, I just had my books to escape and all the horrible comments telling me I was broken... " you just haven't found the right one" was always devastating so when James says it to Isaac, I sobbed for like an hour str8. had to start the episode over. Thank you guys for these reactions. You're the best, truly. xox
I love that you guys keep calling Solitaire "Tori's spinoff" as if it wasn't literally Alice's first book. 🤣 This reaction was so cute. I love your channel. Also, they renewed for season 3 at the same time they renewed for season 2. 🥰
Yeah, she wrote Solitaire first and then the Nick & Charlie novella, IIRC( I'm pretty sure Alice wrote the novella before starting the comic... Don't quote me on that I could be wrong lmao) and THEN got inspired to create the webcomic... If anything Heartstopper is Solitaires' spin-off, for sure.
@@AnxietyRatthe Nick & Charlie novella came a year after Solitaire, followed by This Winter. It was those three stories that inspired Alice to create the HS comics and develop the origin story of N&C. However, in terms of in-story chronological timeline, the first three HS books come first, followed by This Winter, HS book 4, Solitaire, HS book 5, and finally Nick & Charlie. I think there’s also some mention of them in Radio Silence (Aled’s story), but I haven’t read that one in a while so don’t quote me on that.
@@simoneparrish6050in fact it’s Carravagio’s ‘Supper at Emmaus’ which is actually in the National Gallery in London. Elle was clearly inspired to paint her exhibition piece when she saw it with Tao in the Louvre as up to that point she hadn’t settled on the work to submit for her Lambert application.
The hope is that with season 2 being a big hit, that Netflix will commit to seasons 4 and 5 in addition to the the already contracted season 3, to finish the saga!!! Although, Alice now says that there will be 2 more.Heartatopper books beyond the 5 she said would finish the story!!!
I feel like it is a delicate situation for Netflix to commit to those seasons. Because the actors age up really fast. It was already a very noticeable difference from season 1 that all characters grew up and those happened only one year apart. Alice's story does take place a bit in the future too but I'm not sure how long they will be able to get away with Kit playing a 16-18 year old guy
@@sergiux536I noticed in the comics (the future kinda of the show) Charlie grew his hair a bit longer so just that change alone should be ok with the other characters changing. In your twenties you don’t age much anyways like I’m 22 and people still think I’m a minor and then The girl that play’s Tara in real life is 24-25 years old .
@@sergiux536I doubt Connor changes that much in the next couple years. It was mainly drastic cause he gained a lot of muscle compared to a couple years ago. They wouldn't go past 5 seasons anyway
Tori is the protagonist of another book by the same author called “solitaire”. If we ever get to expand her character, she would probably need a spin off movie or show to do so. I haven’t read it yet but I think it takes place around the events of next season of heartstopper. So maybe, we might get more of her in season 3
One of my favorite bits of acting/direction is at 35:54 when Nick is pressing Charlie to open up, Charlie hugs his knees a bit closer. Just the right touch.
little detail i wanted to point out, in the last episode when they go to prom, sahar is playing the guitar and the vocalist of the “band” that’s on stage is actually Baby Queen, she made a cameo and she’s an artist that many of her songs are featured in season 1 and 2 of heartstopper, she even made tracks for the show, and now she and the cast are the best of friends!! i love that she made an appearance after making so many bops for the show, an icon and the song that was played on the very last scene of ep 8 is from Wasia Project which is will’s band/duo with her sister olivia (will gao plays tao btw) and i just think it’s a rlly cool and beautiful detail and song to end the show with❤
I think it will take a while for season 3 to come out. Alice didn't even finish her books yet. But yeah, remember when you guys said ep. 5 was the most emotionally packed, I was laying in bed watching the video saying "B*tch, youre not ready for what's next 😂". I love your reactions! Thank you so much for posting the episodes so fast, I was stalking TH-cam waiting for these episodes to come out.
Yeah I do fear that season 3 won't be released until next fall maybe September or even until winter. Guess I don't mind though as they keep making such incredible seasons. Alice is amazing in having such an authentic writing style. Worth the wait to be able to enjoy such magic.
There’s enough material written in the comics for season three and possibly a fourth. I kinda feel like we could get as many as five seasons but they better hurry up because these kids are growing up fast. In one day, Nick came out to his mom and doubled his muscle mass. Impressive. 🤣🤣🤣
It's been such a pleasure to discover your channel and watch your reactions. From the beginning of this season I've been worried about Charlie. He takes on the burden of everyone, he puts the needs of others always before his, he's always the one having to accept or sacrifice. The two last episodes, had me crying none-stop, from the second he said what he said to Ben, I felt like he started to become visible. And Nick...,the way he researched and was able to have that conversation with Charlie was incredible. In the queer community so many of us tend to not want to deal with these very serious issues. This series as showed us a path to start the conversation. And I am crying again! Thank you both !
Well I sobbed when I watched the season for the first time and now I'm crying with you guy's. I'm so glad you guys love our little British show and I love you honest heatfelt reaction.
Little bit of behind the scenes info - the very last song heard in Season 2 in this episode was produced by the Wasia Project, with two members, Will Gao who plays Tao, and his sister Olivia. Will doesn't sing, but plays the piano in that song which you can clearly hear. Will's sister Olivia is the one you hear singing. Beautiful isn't it? Will and his sister are very talented. Song is called "Ur So Pretty".
regards to Harry’s comment at prom it wasn’t him being funny about it. It was mostly said in like at least nick has brought someone while the rest didn’t. It was his way of including nick as in S1 he said none of you could bring a girl but this time jock did bring his BF and it was Harry’s way to include him.
When Nick and Charlie were seeing everyone off at the door, it seemed like they were married and their friends were leaving their home after a dinner party. I want a friend group like this, and I’m in my 50s.
a scene that absolutely broke my heart was the scene with isaac and james especially when isaac says "i dont think im normal" as an aro person i have felt that before and i even knew what being aro was so for isaac to be feeling like that and not even know what that is is like. it made me sob.
And Nick researching eating disorders at the end… I’ve seen season two like five times since it Thursday… (and now I’ve got covid for the second time, it’ll be on repeat this week)… seeing a boyfriend care SOOO much.. I cry every time
THANK YOU for you’re dedication with this season and this was the only reaction i needed for this season!!! last 2 episodes KILLED ME emotionally Love you guys ❤️🍂

Ben is such a parallel to Darcy and Nick. Darcy came from an abusive and unsupported household, which more then likely is the same for Ben. Nick was still figuring himself out and wasn't ready to come out, same for Ben as well. However he was still such a dick to everyone. If he told Charlie about his parents, and how he can't let anyone know, I am 100% sure Charlie would understand. But he didn't. In solitaire which I won't spoil there is so much more of Ben we see, but it still goes to show that Ben had so many chances to apologize and not treat Charlie like trash. Even in this one he never said "Im sorry for being awful to you and assaulting you." He just talked how he was a better person now, and he wanted something good. It is still sad to see how even now he can't accept who he is, but also shows how similar he is to Darcy and Nick especially. His parents may be the reason he acts that way but definitely not an excuse
The last song in the show "ur so pretty" is by wasia project, which is actually a duo made up of Will Gao (Tao) and his sister!! I just thought it was so cute they added that song in there. This series is just SO freaking amazing.
I love that subtle characterization where dad says to David “Tell me when you get back to Edinburg” and David says “…Glasgow…” Like even though David is an ass, he’s still effected by his dad’s neglect. Makes you have a little more empathy for David in just one line. Amazing.
39:15 Alice said they would need around 5 seasons to tell the story of the graphic novels, which will be 6 in total. Volume 1 & 2 for season 1, Volume 3 for season 2, Volume 4 for season 3 and so on... The fandom have been hoping for adaptations of Solitaire and Radio Silence, 2 books related to the Heartstopper universe, Solitaire being Tori's history during the 4th volume of Heartstopper, while Radio Silence is the book of Aled, the friend they replaced with Isaac, because Alice have been always hoping to turn it into its own thing.
Fun fact! Heartstopper is the spinoff. Solitaire came first, and Isaac (named Aled in the written media) has a spinoff of his own called Radio Silence.
Alice posted awhile back on their instagram post that they have started writing for season 3 and it has been rumored that season 3 will start shooting October of this year and the season will come maybe mid of 2024 or late!
So many edge of tears moments for me in this episode. And the final conversation there with Nick and Charlie talking and Charlie describing his experiences and how that made him feel about himself just hit me so hard because I relate so much to it. It breaks my heart for him. I'm so glad Nick and Charlie have each other.
i’ve read the webcomic more times than i can count, and have watched the show more times than i can count, and it STILL makes m ugly cry. i am so in love with these characters. no one in my life has any interest in watching Heartstopper with me, so THANK YOU for providing this outlet for those of us who need to share this experience with people who get it.
that's so sad that no one else in your life is watching this amazing show but we're here to help 😭😭 and somehow season 3 was the best yet?? didn't know we could love it even more but omfg HERE WE ARE!
@@PettyPumpkins Yes, I've already binge watched season 3 about 7 times and the ending leaves me in floods of tears because I don't want it to be over. I go from euphoria (happy tears) to grief (heartbroken sobbing) the instant those final credits start to roll 💔
Tori's book, Solitaire, was actually Alice Oseman's very first book! Nick & Charlie were side characters, and Alice eventually decided to go back and tell their story in webcomic form. also, Isaac may not have his own book, but he is heavily inspired by a side character from the Heartstopper comics, Aled, who has his own book too, called Radio Silence. and Alice also wrote a book called Loveless with an aro-ace main character (and you can actually see the cover over Isaac's shoulder in the scene in the bookshop with James!)
Ben seemed to be ok with him not accepting the apology I’m proud that he didn’t get mad at Charlie for not forgiving him. Sebastian I’m gonna miss ❤❤ Charlie had every right to not forgive ❤
Yeah it leaves his intentions open to interpretation but never will truly know. Someone did point out Ben still did not acknowledge Charlie's feelings and how much he hurt him. It was all about Ben's feelings and how hard it is for him. I also wonder if he was still trying to get back with Charlie in the end.
I think he wanted to apologise for selfish reasons. He probably recognised he didn't handle the whole situation very well, but he apologised to be forgiven by Charlie and start over with a clean conscience. But Charlie did not give him that and for the first time, Ben actually had to listen to what a horrible impact he truly had on Charlie. I think this is the only way he'll ever be able to grow because he didn't fully realise what he did until Charlie told him. Now he can reflect on that and truly grow - away from Charlie.
I wouldn’t say he was okay with it, he just knew that he fucked up and honestly what was he going to do with Charlie finally standing up to him and Nick ready to punch a new hole in his face? Hopefully he will grow… but we don’t need to see it. Bye Ben.
I think that Ben just wanted to apology so that he can feel good about himself. He never stopped and think about how he treated others and how toxic he was. Cause I use to be the same way with my old online friend constantly being petty and jealous whenever they wouldn’t want to talk to me but I stopped and realized that I needed to work on myself and let go of being toxic and being around people who made me toxic as well. So I blocked them and now I’m more happy with myself.
12:31 I hope that we get a glimpse of Ben in a better place. Like, I'd love a quick moment where Nick and Charlie see him out in public holding hands with a guy or something.
I saw a review for season 2 that pretty much summed up my feelings. I love heartstopper because they actually feel like teens having awkward and adorable romances. There’s no random arguments and fights for drama and that’s why it just feels real. I rarely enjoy any teen shows anymore but this one just hits different
Guys I so love watching your reaction. You made me smile throughout. Please don't expect the worst as a gay person all the time. There are far more accepting and kind wonderful people in the world who won't give a fuck who you want to be with than what the media shows. @@GoodTimeForARoll In the books, the character Ben is only in volume one. So Alice allowed for the character to remain in season two to give Charlie the ending he needed to that part of his life, maybe give him some closure after confronting Ben. So sadly the nice, warm and kind Sebastian Croft will not be in season three, unless Alice changes it.
Loved your reactions you guys were such a joy to watch and so relatable! This season was sooo good and such an improvement from season 1 in my opinion it had my emotions going everywhere 😭💙 no need to worry about season 3 because it's already been renewed! It was renewed for a season 2 and 3 at the same time back then! This season was such a gem and i'm gonna miss all these characters so much they're so special 😭
I really love the character development, How they grow up and learn how to speak what's in their mind is such a...... ❤❤❤❤ really love it, Cant wait for season 3
Someone may have already said this, but season three was confirmed with season two’s confirmation last summer. It was that much of a hit that Netflix green-lit both seasons 2 and 3. Also, Solitaire actually came before Heartstopper. Tori is the original Oseman character. I’m pretty sure Nick and Charlie were referenced in Solitaire and Alice decided to expand on their story with the Heartstopper graphic novel.
Tori's book was actually Alice's first novel, called Solitaire. I haven't read it, but Tori is the center of that story, with Nick and Charlie being introduce in that book. Alice said she loved the characters so much that she dove into their story, which became the Heartstopper series (web comic, graphic novels, show). It's amazing that these characters are so well developed that they actually seem real in a way. I think you guys are right with the comment about that being the reason we get so invested. Plus, being part of the community I find that it is so easy to get invested in a story that is as touching as this one.
I loved watching with you guys!! Everything I thought or said you guy’s would say it lol. It’s so bittersweet with the wait we had for it but I also don’t want the cast to get burn’t out so we can get more of this beautiful show and comic 😭❤️.
I need one season every year until the actors are old and retired. I am so invested in the characters and each personal life (not the mean ones) This show is just so well done.
Idk why, but the ending scene for episode 8 always has me in tears lol. The right song choice after such a heavy conversation and then the hesitation of "I love you" being sent to Nick just destroyed me. I made it through the whole season not crying until that particular scene lol.
35:35 I am lowkey obsessed with Kit's line delivery here. He sounds so unsure and worried and in love... And really the whole season, Kit's acting has been blowing me away. Like there were at least five moments where you could _see_ the 'I love you' Nick was obviously feeling in his face. He didn't say it, obviously, but it was there. Edit: and Charlie curling in on himself at 35:54 ?! These kids are so freaking talented istg.
Honestly I’m surprised we haven’t gotten any other spin off show or movie confirmed given the success of heartstopper. I think solitaire happens during the same period of what will be season 3, so getting more of tori would be a good way to introduce the story from her book as well
I want to know more about Ben’s backstory on why he is the way he is. Plus Sebastian Croft does a really GREAT job portraying Ben himself. Did Ben actually care for Charlie? And why he is not returning to Truham? After this scene apart of me wanted to watch a scene where it showed Ben actually caring for Charlie because I want proof that Ben does at least care for Charlie despite everything that has happened. How did Ben knew they were going to be at the art exhibit? Did he saw Elle’s post?
@@megdelaney3677 Sort of spoilers not really for Solitaire - I think Ben goes to Higgs for sixth form (bc sixth formers can go to either school regardless of gender)... which really sucks bc knowing that the stepping away from the rainbow wave scene hurts even more because he probably only goes to be around girls more... to supress himself even more.
I definitely don't think Ben really cared about Charlie. I think he was embarrassed by the situation and jealous of Charlie and Nick, not particularly because of Charlie but because of the situation. He never cared for Charlie. He liked hooking up with him. If he cared, he would have been nice to him. He was never nice, not even when they were alone together. He didn't respect Charlie, care about anything Charlie had to say, and took advantage of him being vulnerable. If he cared, he would have shown it in one way or another. But he didn't at all. Also spoilers for Solitaire: Ben goes to Higgs, where boys can join for sixth form. In the book, he comes back into the story through dating Tori's best friend and is just as bad, if not worse, than before.

Taylor Swift actually watched the scene and approved of the use of the song for it! She thought it was sweet ❤ And the last song was by Wasia Project, Will Gao (Tao) and his sisters band!
- was anyone else concerned that Ben was going to "do" something to himself like he was looking a bit rough. - seeing charlie in the suit made me think " if he was older he'd be a good Doctor in Doctor who"
I’m not going to lie, that last scene of Ben in Episode 7 made me feel sorry for him. I get where Charlie was coming from, but I thought he was a little harsh on Ben. I’m certainly not excusing any of Ben’s behavior, but he’s a teenager. I hate to think the anti-Ben people would deny him any type of personal growth, development, and redemption. We are not the same now as we were when we were 16 (thank goodness), and the teenage years are full of angst, mistakes, and bad decisions, but they are also about self-discovery and growth. I’m disappointed we are not going to see that in Ben, because it looked like he was making an effort at the end.
Nah… you gotta wait for Charlie to tell Nick when he’s in the shower… and literally the whole thirsty fan base is salivating for that scene to happen. 🤣🤣🤣
Actually, Nick and Charlie is a spin-off of Tori’s story, technically speaking, as Alice wrote that first and they were characters in Tori’s story, that Osemann liked so much that they ended up writing and developing them more.
omg u have no idea how excited i am for imogen and sahar to become a thing, the “everything would be easier if i liked girls” became too real lol, no but now i can’t actually wait for season 3 to see it happen like HOW?? i’m looking forward to see imogen’s journey and honestly more sahar cause i rlly liked her character but she didn’t have that much screen time or lines so i hope we get to know her better next season, im sure we will
@@PettyPumpkins I'm very happy that sahar and imogen were able to realize and discover important things about themselves through each other, especially Imogen. i loved her character this season, her feeling a bit lost and confused about her feelings and identity, so relatable. her realizing that she never truly liked any of her ex boyfriends and dated them because “she was supposed to” was so interesting and such a wonderful and relieving but also scary thing to admit i bet, she still has a lot more to explore and learn about herself, i hope we get to see more of that next season hopefully!!
exactly!! it's been amazing to watch them grow and especially in season 3 they are so good at embracing their faults and learning from them. we could all learn from it a little tbh ❤
At least we know we’re definitely getting a season 3. It’s up to Netflix beyond that. Alice has already said that she can see this series separate from the books. While keeping with the plot of the books but expanding WAY more (story wise) which I’m definitely okay with.
I have been hearing from media sources that Netflix are very very happy with how season two has been received, and there is a slight possibility that they will renew it for a fourth season. Netflix want them to concentrate on season three production first, which as we speak is being written by Alice, and pre production commences soon, with a preliminary start date for filming for October 2023. From what I have heard, Netflix might just wait, as there is no rush, we all now season three is coming.
Poor Ben, it's obvious that no one is to blame for what he experiences, no one has to suffer his anger, but the character's background, his private life is unfortunate, something that no one should experience, being born in a home does nothing good with your head, heart, or with your essence as a human being, all the characters suffer something, but Ben especially makes me very sad.
Netflix renewed the show for seasons 2 and 3 right after season 1 came out, so we know we're getting at least 3 seasons. Alice has said that she could tell the whole story from the webcomics in 4 seasons, so here's hoping Netflix renews it for a 4th season sometime soon. If you're interested in the history of these characters, Alice actually wrote Solitaire first, with Tori as the main character and Nick & Charlie as supporting characters. After Alice finished Solitaire, she loved the Nick & Charlie characters so much that she created the Heartstopper comic for them. Solitaire takes place later than the current events in Heartstopper. Season 2 was based on Vol. 3 of the HS books, and Solitaire takes place sometime during the events in Vol.4 (as does the novella This Winter). Ben appears in Solitaire also, apparently he's not done messing with Charlie. Vol. 5 of the comics comes out at the end of this year, and Alice said there will be a Vol. 6 eventually too. The novella Nick + Charlie provides the "last" chapter, taking place just before Nick leaves for university. I'm babbling because I'm just as gutted as you are about this season. The last scene never fails to break me down. Thanks for watching the show with such care.
Alice is actively writing season 3. I assume, she will have it ready by September or November. Filming would start maybe in January and show out in the fall.
I am with both of you in your feelings. I feel like I have been in a year long cathartic trip. I’m going to need a month to recuperate. This was one of best productions in every respect, ie. Writing acting, cinematography etc.

I was probably the only person screaming “Don’t say it yet!!” At the screen because I know how it happens in the comics. The real “I love you scene is too iconic to change.”
The show has been so faithful to the source material thus far, it would be a crime to leave out that scene! can you imagine the fandom revolt? lol
They showed her the scene and she loved it so much, she just gave them permission to use it.
awww
That’s cool. When I heard Taylor Swift, I said to myself “They must’ve used that Cadbury product placement money to pay for the rights to this. We love a balanced budget!” 😂
I thought the seven song is to like represent Seven guys of our gang ❤
The whole dinner scene was just me yelling “get him tori!” repeatedly with increasing volume
@@jaygatz4335I don't want to spoil but in the books he gets so much worse so quickly. He gets even more abusive.
The report is that it took 7 hours to shoot all of that, and when they were done Kit and Joe were so emotionally wrenched and wrung out they each had to just be alone for an hour or so.
they've always been great but they keep getting better every season 😭 season 3 acting deserves Emmys on Emmys on Emmys!
Lol right! She’s the main character of this universe! 😂
@@n4musica and ugh that book makes me love her even more she's such a great character.
@@AnxietyRat absolutely!
Did anyone else notice that Elle’s painting was a version of Tao’s “landscape” in season 1? I thought the callback was a nice homage.
Yes! And the composition was like the painting she looked at for the longest in the Louvre
@@simoneparrish6050 Yes! I noticed that just a day ago. Good spotting!
I love the tao/nick scene with the crisps as a callback to the chips scene between them last season
@@sergiux536stranger things is still going strong.. so I don’t think it will be that big of a deal..
Alice said she only wants 4 seasons. She’s said that so many times. If we go 5, some of these actors are going to start getting too old.
@@sergiux536I doubt Connor changes that much in the next couple years. It was mainly drastic cause he gained a lot of muscle compared to a couple years ago. They wouldn't go past 5 seasons anyway
I DESPERATELY NEED more Tori next season. She’s literally the best.
Tori is the protagonist of another book by the same author called “solitaire”. If we ever get to expand her character, she would probably need a spin off movie or show to do so. I haven’t read it yet but I think it takes place around the events of next season of heartstopper. So maybe, we might get more of her in season 3
@@supercalimeyep. It’s a much darker book unlike Heartstopper.
they heard you!! season 3 Tori was EVERYTHINGGGGG
@@PettyPumpkins I really manifested this 😭
One of my favorite bits of acting/direction is at 35:54 when Nick is pressing Charlie to open up, Charlie hugs his knees a bit closer. Just the right touch.
little detail i wanted to point out, in the last episode when they go to prom, sahar is playing the guitar and the vocalist of the “band” that’s on stage is actually Baby Queen, she made a cameo and she’s an artist that many of her songs are featured in season 1 and 2 of heartstopper, she even made tracks for the show, and now she and the cast are the best of friends!! i love that she made an appearance after making so many bops for the show, an icon
and the song that was played on the very last scene of ep 8 is from Wasia Project which is will’s band/duo with her sister olivia (will gao plays tao btw) and i just think it’s a rlly cool and beautiful detail and song to end the show with❤
Nick "And i love..."
Sarah "Nicky i'm home"
Me "Not now Olivia coleman...i love you but gurl time and place" 🙈😂
@@benp3592couldn't agree more :)
There’s enough material written in the comics for season three and possibly a fourth. I kinda feel like we could get as many as five seasons but they better hurry up because these kids are growing up fast. In one day, Nick came out to his mom and doubled his muscle mass. Impressive. 🤣🤣🤣
@@graphiquejackI doubt Kit will change as drastically going forward. If they film soon he looks about the same now as he did last year.
isn't season going to be based on the volume 4 book? Volume 5 is coming out in November and I read that filming for season 3 begins in October.
I loved the graphic novels and feel the show has elevated the Osemanverse even further. Loved every episode. Absolute perfection.
I'm so glad you guys love our little British show and I love you honest heatfelt reaction.
sobbing along is an integral part of the viewing experience lol 😭 especially in season 3!!!
Episode 7 is my favorite episode this season and maybe series wide. Charlie and Nick truly owned their lives and are living their truth
Harry is ‘trying’ but it’s super inappropriate and cringe at the same time. Love that for him. 🤣
@@graphiquejack He needs to trade his voice in for an older model.
I binged it all with my little bro and we were so heartbroken when we reached the end, I can't believe how fast the season went!
Well filming is set to commence in October 2023 for season three - so we will most likely see it next summer of 2024
When Nick and Charlie were seeing everyone off at the door, it seemed like they were married and their friends were leaving their home after a dinner party.
Nick saying about his dad “why doesn’t he care” gave me HUUUUGE Fresh Prince of Bel Air vibes… and I cried so much
And Nick researching eating disorders at the end… I’ve seen season two like five times since it Thursday… (and now I’ve got covid for the second time, it’ll be on repeat this week)… seeing a boyfriend care SOOO much.. I cry every time
Damn you're so right... The fresh prince scene😢😢😢😢😢

34:25 you mentioned the song in the last video and I COULD NOT WAIT for your reaction when it dropped 😂 you didn’t disappoint ❤
Yeah he just said he was a piece of shit but he probably should have expanded on that.
Amazing.
The show was renewed for both season 2 and 3 after season 1. So yes, season 3 is happening! 🥳
Word is there might be a season 4 with Nick and Charlie being Adults. Wishful thinking, but it would be a great bow on a Heartstopper Present.
and it was INCREDIBLE!
And charlie took another hoodie. Soon Nick's mom is going to be like "ok that's very cute but I have to pay for those, get some of them back"
I know, right??
Fun fact! Heartstopper is the spinoff. Solitaire came first, and Isaac (named Aled in the written media) has a spinoff of his own called Radio Silence.
Isaac and Aled are pretty different characters, so I wouldn't say it's "Isaac's" story or spin-off.
@@ipurpleu1668 okay. Isaac, whose character was based off a character named Aled in the written media.
3:28 actually, tori did not get a spinoff. Heartstopper _is_ the spinoff
Alice posted awhile back on their instagram post that they have started writing for season 3 and it has been rumored that season 3 will start shooting October of this year and the season will come maybe mid of 2024 or late!
eeeeek we made it!!! need season 4 NOW!
heartstopper is actually a spinoff of solitaire, not the other way around. :)
It is incredible how much Kit looks like Nick from the comics - hair, build, clothes - they nailed it this season.
Also season 3 has been announced! When the show got renewed after season 1, it got renewed for BOTH season 2 and 3!
and where is season 4 bc 😭 season 3 was TOO good!
Bye Ben.
Right! I know Sebastian Croft is lovely and is probably great to have on set but… Ben’s gotta go… 😂
I think that Ben just wanted to apology so that he can feel good about himself.
Season three is definitely happening. The show was renewed up to season three. Your reactions were fantastic. 😊

Yea season 3 has been announced and apparently there will be 5-6 seasons
12:31 I hope that we get a glimpse of Ben in a better place. Like, I'd love a quick moment where Nick and Charlie see him out in public holding hands with a guy or something.
I saw a review for season 2 that pretty much summed up my feelings. I love heartstopper because they actually feel like teens having awkward and adorable romances. There’s no random arguments and fights for drama and that’s why it just feels real. I rarely enjoy any teen shows anymore but this one just hits different

Netflix already said season 3 is happening, they announced that when season 2 was being made
I've read that supposedly the actor for Ben won't be returning
@@GoodTimeForARoll In the books, the character Ben is only in volume one. So Alice allowed for the character to remain in season two to give Charlie the ending he needed to that part of his life, maybe give him some closure after confronting Ben. I was the same. My hearts were red raw after the last episode especially
the "why doesnt he care?" line from Nick broke my heart ugh
ACTING!!!
I am so invested in the characters and each personal life (not the mean ones) This show is just so well done.
literally will watch them until they're in the retirement home 😭
Idk why, but the ending scene for episode 8 always has me in tears lol. The right song choice after such a heavy conversation and then the hesitation of "I love you" being sent to Nick just destroyed me. I made it through the whole season not crying until that particular scene lol.
Tori definitely sits in her room making little potions and curses lol
35:35 I am lowkey obsessed with Kit's line delivery here. He sounds so unsure and worried and in love...
And really the whole season, Kit's acting has been blowing me away. Like there were at least five moments where you could _see_ the 'I love you' Nick was obviously feeling in his face. He didn't say it, obviously, but it was there.
Edit: and Charlie curling in on himself at 35:54 ?! These kids are so freaking talented istg.
This show was a wonderful ride. So good. I loved the main characters so much! I'm an emotional wreck. Love you guys. 💗
Honestly I’m surprised we haven’t gotten any other spin off show or movie confirmed given the success of heartstopper. I think solitaire happens during the same period of what will be season 3, so getting more of tori would be a good way to introduce the story from her book as well
This was a great video (and a great series of videos from you guys)! The show made me so happy but also devastated; totally worth it
I want to know more about Ben’s backstory on why he is the way he is.
Maybe he's off to military school? - At first I thought a conversion facility, but Ben said his parents didn't know he was gay. So, we'll see.
@@sarahg9104 Even though Ben's been a thoughtless, heartless cad, I can't help but to pity him
I definitely don't think Ben really cared about Charlie.
@@megdelaney3677 Alice Oseman said that Ben is gone from the show, so he won't be back. In Solitaire, which takes place the following school year, he is attending Higgs for Sixth Form.

I think we all screamed “SAY IT” when Nick said “I love……”. 🤣🤣 this show brings out the worst in me it makes me crazy😂

I think I actually might have died when Taylor Swift's "Seven" started playing 😭😭😭
sameeee and it fit perfectly with the scene, so warm❤😢
Think my favorite part about this show, is that the characters are not perfect and yet perfectly endearing and raw at the same time. Loved it
exactly!! it's been amazing to watch them grow and especially in season 3 they are so good at embracing their faults and learning from them. we could all learn from it a little tbh ❤
@@PettyPumpkins Havet gotten to see season 3 yet, ,but really looking forward to it!
The last part of episode 8 I guarantee had everyone crying. Even the most cold hearted cynic would have shed a tear for Charlie.
Charlie is breaking my heart and next season will be even harder.
You guys finished the series really well, I ended up with my eyes looking like two shriveled raisins in their sockets.
Same here
Thank you for sharing your reactions with us!
Season 3 was already confirmed. Alice Oseman confirm S3 at the same time S2 was confirmed. S3 filming is set to start in October
Petty Pumpkins, you are great!!!!! I like watching you guys. You are really good.
Love you 🌻
Alice is actively writing season 3.
Darling!
I will need a full year!! To recover from this season. Jesus!
Up and down with my feelings❤😂😢
Season 2 & 3 were renewed at the same time. They’re going to start filming s3 in October.
Season 3 was announced at the same time they announced Season 2. No release date yet.
