@@cobra2994 whether rick is or is not involved, it still ultimately proves Shane's statement that rick couldn't keep Lori and carl safe. Maybe if rick wasn't stupid enough to go seek allies with jadis and her group all alone and get locked up in some goddamn shipping container for 2 whole episodes, then maybe carl wouldn't have gotten bit.

I think the thing we didn't realize is that when Rick brought up his Dad burning the farm down to save everyone, We all got worried he'd do the same thing when in actuality he already did with the Bridge and I'm betting that's why he'll finally make it home.
Prime Rick Grimes was several levels above everyone else. It's a pity that the best zombie series eventually turned into a hack. Even spin-offs don't save the series. I think spin-offs only spoil everything. For me, the original series ended exactly where the crooked writers decided to kill Carl. I couldn't bring myself to look any further.
