- This tribute video (January 8, 2015) was made In Loving Memory of Steve Clark of Def Leppard and his Rock Star Style by Lorelei Shellist, who was his fiancée. They met in Paris when she was a fashion model, and were together 1983-1990. In this video, Lorelei shows many of Steve's favorite jackets and styles that she helped design. At the end, Lorelei explains that she started the Shellist Music Memorial Scholarship in memory of Steve Clark and Musicians. Proceeds from Lorelei's book, "Runway RunAway: A Backstage Pass to Fashion, Romance and Rock n' Roll," go toward this scholarship fund. Thank you very much for sharing this great video for us the great fans of Steve Clark for me it is an honor to have seen this video I can not deny tears came to my eyes because for me it is a great memory and a lot of nostalgia. Incredible great guitarist and great human being just like you too. I am a musician drummer by profession. My first Def Leppard concert was at the Roberto Clemente Coliseum on San Juan Puerto Rico Island 1988. I was basically in front of Steve on the big stage of the Hysteria tour. It was an honor to meet him from the stage. Then it was DL for the Coliseo de Puerto Rico 2016 where I had the honor of working with their production. It was a nice experience.

There are very few women that date-marry members of rock bands that are initially genuine, that have tremendous hearts and have visions of actual true love instead of the value of a dollar, I watched the video Hysteria: The Def Leppard Story, out of all the things that took place within that terrible time frame Steve's story truely stood out, As a music lover and a fan of the bands, I think I speak for The band, the fans, and friends when I say thank you for standing by Steve and for being such a wonderful woman and for loving him and not the money, there is a very special place in heaven for you and you are already a angel! What an amazing woman!
I love her happiness of talking about her and Steve back in the day.
Steve Clark was an amazing guitarist and deserved more recognition than he seemed to of got, I absolutely love def leppard and Vivian is a great guitarist too but a part of that band lost its edge when Steve sadly died.
Hysteria is an album I can listen to and never get bored of and that's thanks to Steve!
One day I will make it to his gravestone and pay my respects to the legend!

I'm so glad I came across this, I've been a huge Def Leppard fan all my life, Steve has always been a hero of mine, after all these years I've finally had the courage to revisit his last couple if years to confront my own struggles with Alcohol, it's helped me clear a path to sobriety, Never forgotten x

This is sooooo awesome! I've loved Def Leppard since I was five, andI'm forty now. :) Armgeddon It is my favorite song because Steve's name is part of the lyrics. Pure talent and completely gifted. They never sounded the same after he went home. Still love them, but will always miss his sound. RIP SMC

I miss Steve Clark so much!.....Def Leppard lost it's heart and soul when he died...they were never the same after his passing...I like that he was a "soul player"....no technical stuff..just play from the heart!

Long Live White Lightning!!! Thank you Lorelei for sharing this tribute video. I appreciate you sharing such awesome artifacts with us. I especially love the personal backstories of each item. I had no idea you created his stylish/iconic clothes. Such amazing work and craftsmanship. I wish I knew about this video earlier too. I would have lit my candle along with the video. :) Steve with the rest of the guys from Lep, are such an inspiration to me. Their music is literally the soundtrack to my life that brings me joy everyday. ( I even named my 84 Ibanez Lightning in honor of Steve. ) I was too young to ever get the chance to see Steve live in concert, however I get to live through his music and videos. So Thank you again Lorelei for sharing this part of Steve. You definitely will be seeing a contribution from me to the Shellist Music Scholarship. Looking forward to reading your book. :)

Whenever I hear the adage that “the flame that burns twice as bright burns half as long”, my mind instantly goes to Steve Clark. Never has a musician radiated pure passion, love of the art, and energy the way he did. I’m genuinely blessed to have been able to see the band while he was still with them, as they never seemed to fully recover from the loss. Though I love everything Def Leppard has ever done, the records they delivered with Steve are, without a doubt their finest. Especially the sonic cathedral that is “Hysteria”. And through those recordings, he is immortalized. Thank you for sharing this with the world, Ms. Shellist!

steve was such an inspiration to me to play guitar. i trained myself to have my guitar low. i tried my best to play like he did. i have been getting his guitars epiphone i cant afford gibson just need one more. i have been having fun doing them. i wonder if he ever knew how he was admired for his music he did. what a incredible musician. for the fans out there he will never be forgotten.

Actually this is one of my favorite Def Leppard videos.
Steve Clark was the most amazing performer hard-working guitar player he had the genius dirty guirar chops, the look, the style, the performance the dancing Very few musician even come close to Steve, there are others but not that many we're talking you can count them on less than to 1 hand probably..

Steve was the best guitarist who ever lived, his outro melody in the song hsyteria was the best live it and is rare guitar solo I'm photograph live in 88 was the best to
I wasn't born until late 1992 and always tell my mom that I should have been her sister instead of her daughter so I could have been alive for this great music when it came out. I am a huge fan of the band and Steve's - I used to sneak my parent's Hysteria cassette tape when I was little and listen to it on my stereo so much that the tape was on the verge of wearing out. I just saw the band in concert a few weeks ago and it was amazing - a dream come true! It would have been absolutely fantastic if I was alive back in the 80's to see Steve play. Love the part in this video where you talk with an accent like Steve - so cute! Thank you so much for sharing this with us!

I am just watching this video for the first time today. Def Leppard were the first rock band that inspired me to pick up a guitar in elementary school and I have taken that inspiration to become a lifelong musician as well as an educator (I'm 37 now!). Thank you so much for making this video, it was so exciting to see and hear about Steve's amazing fashion and stage appearance. He was an amazing showman and growing up I watched the live in the round video hundreds of times, marveling at his virtuosity. He was a true inspiration and I was lucky to live in his time!

Lorelei, that was a great tribute. I had the pleasure of seeing the Hysteria tour and was standing almost directly in front of Steve all night. I was not a big fan at the time but, he was absolutely amazing on stage and by the end of the evening I was hooked. It was kinda like watching Jimmy with Zep but, Steve just really carried himself in his own way as well. To this day when I play out I try to carry some of that energy that I witnessed from him that night. He was about as talented and cool as it gets and I will always keep that show with me. Sure miss him, God bless.:)

I could see that he had good taste and style... I loved the way he dressed. I guess he had an impression on me since I also pay attention ( I was like 14 when Hysteria came out) He was fashioned, he was elegant, just like his musical ideas... I only discover who you are, so that confirms the good taste that he had.

Thank you for sharing this with us! Steve Clark was my all time favorite from Def Leppard. I was sadden to hear when he left us. I was and still am very grateful to have seen DL in 1987 for the Hysteria tour in Houston, Tx. The BEST concert I've ever seen!! Next to Journey (80's)!!
When Steve died, 90 percent of Def Leppard died too. He is the edged of the band. Like what Joe Elliot said:"He contibuted about 90percent of music in the band.. Such a great loss but thanks GOD anyway, Def still survive and still on tour and making music up to this day.
This is horrible that Steve was taken so sudden, please to all out there please see what addictions (alcohol in this case) can do, he was taken away way to young, and he was a fantastic guitarist

Thank you for posting this. Greatly appreciated. Steve still today is my top 3 favorite guitarists of all time. Very creative and inspiring. Fortunately, I got to see him several times on tour. I'm thankful for seeing him live and the great music he created.
