I am playing a conquest campaign as the soviets for the first time and I want to ask is the KV line better than the T-34 line ?
Generally it is the case that KVs are better than t-34s, except some KV-1s have crappy guns compared to T-34s in the same roster. But rule of thumb is kv > t-34
@@kava2340 I went for a t-28/kv-1S combo when i found the t-28's gun to be good enough against pz3 turret rings but I am still in early game and i don't know if this tree will be good enough against late game panzers as I read bad things about the IS tanks
@@korsan4954 IS tanks are great, made from the most bullshit stallinium.
Tiger shells will unironically ding off the thing. I dunno if theres any german tank heavier than the Tiger in base game goh but IS-2 is the cream of the crop of the soviet tank army.
@@kava2340tiger 1s are not that good against the is2 but king tigers can easily knock it out, although the IS-2 is definitely stronker than anything that is not KTs
After Tavilsota DLC, KV line now goes with T-35, wich is really OP at the early game. Literally fortress, wich destroys all around and can hold defence all round without resupply. KV line leads to the IS-2, top tier heavy soviet tank, but it is very specific vehicle. It has really powerful HE shells, wich cause hell in the enemy infantry groups (basically - divisional artillery with direct fire), but slow reload speed makes him not so effective against infantry, wich spreaded the lines. It can easily knock down any German tank, exept King Tiger (and maybe late Panter), and that exceptions requires constant attention from player. In short, IS-2 is very effective, but only in groups of 2-3 tanks and with cover of T-60/T-70 wich protects them from enemy infantry with AT grenades. And yeap, supply trucks are especially important in the case of IS-2.
T-34 line is more diverse. Now it goes with T-28, wich almost equally effective against infantry as T-35, and T-28E variant can fight with PZ-III, and all medium tanks is far better in attack, when you want to destroy your enemy before reinforcements (5 min). OT-34 is an absolute champion for this task - it clears enemy positions with flames and can fight against light and medium enemy tanks with ease. OT-34 also a really good variant for supporting IS-2, BTW. KV line is quite long, and if you spend some science point for other units, you can met tigers and panters with weak 76mm gun in KV-1 and KV-2S. T-34 line can get access to the good 57mm guns faster, but defence with medium tanks against heavy creates a Russian Roulette - you will lose one-two vehicle after each defence.
In short - KV line is more predictable gameplay, T-34 is more risky, but you can bring more units. Besides, SU-100 is a beast.
