This is exactly what it feels like so far; a remake of DW4 and Lu Bu his handing out ass whooping just like before and I can't get enough. This is definitely getting the series back on track
Considering these officers have a complete moveset of their own, Maybe its safe to say that origins is like testing the waters using the new system before making DW 10 that uses thus system and implementing it with multiple characters
This is the reboot. It's the new standard for DW games. Or is their intention, anyway. So wouldn't make sense to make DW 10 after this, as that would imply going back to their old systems.
With the new gameplay, the Empires spin off of Origins could be a very strategic/tactical experience. I suspect with the new capabilities of the new engine, I gather their is ALOT of new features that would be added to a new Empires, like proper sieges
@ basically it’s similar gameplay but the “empires” mode lets you play out the story the way you like, sometimes leading to alternative history versions of events, or even just running with entirely created characters to make your own story

I can’t believe they got it right this time! The demo completely blew me away. The combat feels much more polished, the characters have weights, the duel system has made a return, the soundtrack is phenomenal, and the enemies finally feel more substantial. I just finished SW5 and I can see this is a major step up from the previous entries in the series.
But did they get it right? They’ve undoubtedly improved on many features since the last mainline title but the lack of playable characters and weapons options as well as the bland character you’re forced to play as for 90% of the game is a huge bummer for me.
Anyone thinking about buying this game let me give you my two cents as a person whos been playing since DW2 This game is different, but not as different as you think Theres only so much Koei can do with its old formula, they've tried in dw9 and failed. But DWO is NOT the same formula pre dw9 but it works. The mechanics are still the same button smashing hack and slash you love but it's not the most optimal way to play, this game can be actually difficult you NEED to learn the mechanics taken from souls like gameplay, it makes the game really really enjoyable and intuitive, This take on Dynasty warriors is actually refreshing while being nostalgic at the same time. I know i've just played the demo but if you see this as a Dynasty Warriors mainline i'd probably rate the game 7/10 but if you think about the game as like a spinoff its a 9/10 to be honest everyones experience is different and my opinion may vary but i'd still recommend everyone to play the demo and see if its your taste. I'm happy to say that i've pre ordered after the demo. The game is really really fun in my opinion!
It looks great and the improved focus on combat+customization is definitely where the series needed it But idk man it not having multiplayer is a break it for me. I'll wait for later updates or for this to go on sale
Glad this series is still alive and well. Can't remember what dynasty warriors gane was my first but I remember it was a blast and rented the game several times from blockbuster

Just finished the demo. This is my first DW. What a great experience. Combat is top tier and as responsive as it gets. Parry and evasion are on point. This will be a great game
i played the DEMO today, and boy was I impressed, I notice all that extra walk around, on this video, I did not want to see that. They should of made this, like the OLD DW3 or DW3XtremeLegends, just a GREAT STORY and straight to the FIGHT. where u earn ur ITEMS/upgraded Items if u up the difficulty. all that extra nonces is not needed.
Played through the demo twice. If youre an OG fan of the series I think youll loveee it. If DW isnt for you then I doubt the demo will do anything for you. Co-op isnt that big of a deal for me so I'll definitely be picking this up day one. And it looks great on PS5 Pro
I like it…alot actually. Haven’t beaten Lu yet but realised he just keeps following you so I’ll make sure to take him to all territory gates, that way I can at least hit him with some more tactics.

Looks like this game is going for a way closer approach like fate samurai remnant. Still allowing you to play as other characters, while insentivising one character you play above all others with a lot of customization. Still not 100% sure how I feel about this. I love stronger narrative focus, but losing out on the massive rosters this genre is known for, always kinda rubs me the wrong way.
I dig, but If this is origins, then the last battle has to take place in the *Yellow Turban Rebellion* With all three generals and *He Jin* as the leader.
The perfect parry and dodge mechanics look a lot like the ones that they put in Fate: Samurai Remnant which I liked a lot but they felt a little out of place in that game, maybe because of the speed and animation style of that title? Not sure but Origin's art style and heavier feel in the demo match those systems perfectly and it's got me pumped. I'm usually pretty stubborn and wait 6+ months for a sale before I buy a game these days but I'm probably going to cave and grab this game day one.
Why did they go with the nameless character? Probably to give you a different perspective of the three kingdoms history depending on which side you'll support
We went from having 50+ heroes to choose from and role play as to how only having 10 playable characters with 9 of them being supports (companions) that you can only play as for a short period after filling up a meter??? Looks like I’ll be playing DW8 still.
Yeah, okay, fairly decent fun, but playing the demo, I got into a position where one of my other generals was on low health at an autosave, so even though the map was mostly cleared, and I had 90% won, as soon as that general goes down, which I couldn't prevent, I instantly lost. Meaning I had to start from scratch. Should be able to fight on still.
I'm wondering if you can customise the look of the protagonist, he kinda looks rather basic? Which makes me lean to think he will be customisable looks wise. Maybe I'm grasping as straws here, but I do heavily miss being able to play as your own custom guy or girl

Dynasty Warriors 8 Xtreme Legends Complete is prob one of the best games with the old system imo. So much content to get through while waiting for this game

But does every game in the series have the conquest take over the entire country mode like 9 did or was that just a thing for 9. I'm hoping it makes a return.
Musou games are divided into two types, one is the main story and the other is Empire, most recent Musou games always have an Empire version. With Origin, it is predicted that there may not be an empire due to the reboot, so the amount of content is narrowed compared to previous games. Honestly, I am quite impressed with Empire players because it is quite messy and takes too much time for me (I hardly use any cards or tactics because I am lazy 🤣), currently I only play Orochi, it is a perfect combination of Dynasty and Samurai, I am also building all the characters in Orochi 3S PSP so that everyone can play Solo without changing characters (I plan to apply it to 3Ultimate after buying a new Laptop).
His guy never play DW before n hes doesnt know what that Gongsun Zan front hes serious face..he one with zhao yun served under him before hes defected left him .
@@Stakkeable you can tag in as a preferred general you select but during my demo session that was limited to a timer after activating, there’s may be more to that system or missions where you play as other characters but it was outside of what I got to see in my demo

Hope they add DLSS, It runs kinda bad on PC (RTX 4060Ti) but it's a demo, overall it's very hopeful for the DW series, had a lot of fun in the demo

The fact you are forced to play one character is a turn off for me. Not gonna buy it on release. Gonna wait this one off.
@@Stakkeable you can tag in as a preferred general you select but during my demo session that was limited to a timer after activating, there’s may be more to that system or missions where you play as other characters but it was outside of what I got to see in my demo
