It was great to hear the purr of a Honda 550 again. I bought one brand new when I was stationed in Hawaii around 1974. Had the 4 trumpet pipes on it and it was so much smoother and comfortable than the 72 750 I had in Texas. I'd really like to get my hands on a 350 or 400 four in my old age. Great video. Thanks again.

It's nice seeing a CB in stock form being ridden. I know it's not the coolest bike on the road....but that classic, vintage look just looks nice...at least to my 50 year old eyes. I grew up seeing these bikes on the road on a daily basis. Seeing all these new bikes...with plastic fairings and shrouds and panels covering everything....just isn't the same. It's nice to see the engine and frame and all the parts that make the motorcycle the riding machine it is.

I have been watching and enjoying your channel for a while now. I had a 1976 CB550 and I tore it down and freshened up the motor. I had it for 5 yrs and I rode it from Miami to El Paso and many places in between. Watching you with these bike takes me back to my youth, thanks for the work and please keep them coming.

I owned this exact bike back in the 80’s. Color and all. Rode it from New Jersey down to Skyline Drive and the Blue Ridge Parkway along the Appalachian Mountains. Brings back very fond memories. Thank you for that.

I been watching this series closely. Takes me back to my high school days. We had these & the Suzuki GT380. The 2-cycle Suzuki's were the scream machines. Scare the ever loving s**t out of you & give you stories to tell... AND, everybody please share Taylor's channel. Let's get him a 100K subscriber plaque. He's giving real entertainment in his postings.

I'd rather buy a used bike from someone like you who knows what he's doing. I'm sure that bike when you're finished will be road worthy for some time to come. Love yer videos. Back in my day I had a Kawasaki 400 two stroke triple. I used to get in trouble with the cops for doing wheelies when I left at a red light. It sure sounds good to hear it run. I like yer tach tester. Never throw anything away. Don't forget about the rear view mirrors.

Wow, this is my old bike. I had that same bike when I was in the Army in the 70's. I rode that bike all across the US for many yrs. Even the same color and same exhaust. Thanks for the walk down memory lane. I am now real spoiled and ride a Goldwing!

I am actually picking up the same exact year CB750 this morning! And 100% original! But with a bit high mileage of 82k, supposedly rebuild with a big bore kit of 836cc, and is a runner, a rough Runner but still running, sitting since 1985 I believe, for $1500! I am super stoked and I can't wait to get it home...

It was fun seeing you bring the 550 back to life. It sure sounded sweet when you took her out for the first ride. I've had a Honda CB650 Custom since 1999. I recently had to empty out my gas tank and put new spark plugs in to get her running properly again. Videos like yours inspire me to do more on my bike. If my carbs need cleaning and syncing I may send them to you. Great job on the Honda 550

"hoard everything, forever." way ahead of you. i have crap i picked up 40 years ago lying in a box, or on a shelf somewhere, waiting for it's chance to be the hero. last week i put a fuel regulator on a project that had been in a box of fuel system parts for 20 years at least. saved me a 12 mile trip to town, and 40 bucks. when i put it on, i was singing the mighty mouse theme song, "here i come to save the day!" lol!

I was buying bikes and finally crashed . Hospital and not the crash almost killed me with drug OD. Anyway I have a nice 550 and pretty exceptional cb 350. I got them cheap enough and they have really appreciated enough that I can have a pro do some repairs to sell them

Here in down under that model was known as a cb500/4 and if memory serves me correct the 550/4 came out here in around 1979. I owned a 500/4 the same colour as that one and I loved that bike but some stupid car driver collided with me at full speed and the result was devastating. Cheers from Australia.

I had a MAC four into one on my KZ750. It killed the power past 8000 which sounds bad but the bike was WAY stronger in the 4 to 8000 range. It made it a much more fun bike for bombing the twisties and quick roll on passes. I wasn't in the habit of running the bike at 10,000 anyway.

Looking Good. When it comes to the speedo and tacho, I've read that you shouldn't store them - or even hold them - in an inverted position. They have an open cup that contains a silicone lubricant evaporates over the years, and will pour out if inverted. This results in a jumpy/jerky needle, especially at higher speeds/revs.
