The hurricane season hasn't even reached it's peak yet and there is absolutely no reason to not always be prepared before it's too late. If people stock up on extra drinking water and supplies now the store shelves might not be empty when you last minute people finally decide to take action. It is always better to practice preparedness than to be sorry. Gas stations and stores can't stay opened during a hurricane and they are often destroyed or flooded by the time a storm is over and the roads are often too flooded to drive around looking for anything you might need anyway. Just be ready for the worst and hope for the best.
