- In this video we showcase one of the newer maps on GSPRO in Whistler Nicklaus North to showcase some of the improved graphics over older maps on the software and what to expect from GSPRO moving forward with new technology. During this video we play Which 3 Holes where we play a par 3, par 4 and par 5 hole to try and shoot at or below par. Check this video out to see the insane graphics on GSPRO and how we do on this beautiful course!

Beautiful course here. A few comments - putting has been calibrated to green stimp and is as accurate as you can get. I think the biggest issue people have is that most courses are stimp 7-9 on public courses. It's rare to find too many 10-12 stimp courses, which is where the tournaments are all played on SGT. 10 stimp is also the default, which will be fast for most. It takes a bit of getting used to, but it's absolutely accurate. Some other simulator software packages are simply not accurate at all and force you to hit the ball way too hard. As far as penalties go, you aren't told ahead of time because GSPro penalty system is based on how high you hit the shot. As a rule of thumb, "semi-rough" is just spin loss, "rough" is about one club penalty, and "deep rough" is about 20% penalty for short irons (and more spin loss) but the lower you hit it, the more penalized you get. Similar to outdoor golf, DON'T try and hit a 3wood out of deep rough. Good luck with your future endeavors!
Fantastic description! Thanks for letting me know on some of those details.
Even on 8 Stimp it is very fast, twice as fast as e6 on 8, I play on 8 and cut everything in half and it works good. 20' putts I hit 10'
The penalties for the rough & deep rough etc. are difficult to determine but with practice you will know how most shots react. It's mostly based on the amount of loft you hit on your shot. As an example if your in deep rough & you try to hit a 3 wood it may only go 100 yards even though the launch monitor said you hit it 225 yards. If you're in deep rough & hit a sand wedge it may only penalize you 10 yards.
100% agree with you on the putting. The stimp say 10 by default but in reality GSpro 10 stimp is more like 13 in real life. I have a stimp meter to test greens before i play so i can be accurate using Aimpoint and they are definitely faster. You get used to the speed difference pretty quickly so it’s not a big deal but when you go outside and play you’ll be leaving everything short for a little bit. No big deal
I still feel that way but have been advised by many it is dead on accurate. It's just a personal preference for me more than anything.
The best way to learn about penalties out of the rough, semi-rough and deep rough is old school pen and paper. All you have to do is go to On Course Practice. Pick a course. Drop your ball in the rough and hit X amount of shots. Hit a SW. PW, 7i, whatever. For your wedges hit at full speed, 3/4 speed, 1/2 speed, 1/4 speed. Write down the VLA and ball speed from your LM for these clubs, then write down the penalties assessed. Collect data. In short order, you will have a feel that "X shot" out of rough, semi-rough and deep rough will typically result in "Y result in speed and spin".
Pebble is just an older course. Whistler was created more recently. It’s a Very nice course, but The graphics haven’t changed in game. Most of the newer courses will have better quality than older courses as the course designers get used to the tools available to them.
Agree. That is why I wanted to come out with an updated course video so I could show off some of that. Any thoughts on the penalty and why it is shown only after you hit?
@@GarageGolf penalties are dynamic. Semi is basically spin loss, rough will be 5-7% or 1 Club loss and spin, and deep rough will be 20% but again based on VLA. If you hit 3w from deep it will go 70 yards. If you hit a SW it will go close to normal distances.
It’s not how far you hit the putt. It’s how hard you hit it in the distance. Ball speed is key in gs pro putting. Just like you would outside .
You’re incorrect on your putting speeds. It’s VERY accurate. It has been tested ad naseum and shown to be accurate.
Not the first time I’ve been incorrect. To me it feels a little fast. I have talked to several others who agree but doesn’t mean we’re right.
Using your high level of influence with GSPRO maybe you can convince them to support Foresight devices 🏌♂, which courses do you have access to when you purchase (couldn't figure it out on their web page, they insinuated "300+)?
Have a great break and certainly will stick with you for at least another 4 years.
All of them
You will have no problems connecting to GSPro with any foresight products.
Just announced at the pga show today. Great news.
