Nights at the Circus by Angela Carter is a novel set in 1899 that follows the life of Sophie Fevvers, a winged aerialiste who recounts her extraordinary story to an American journalist, Jack Walser. Abandoned as a baby and raised in a brothel, Fevvers claims to have sprouted wings at puberty, captivating audiences and leading her to fame in a traveling circus. The narrative intertwines themes of gender, performance, and identity, as Walser, initially skeptical of Fevvers's claims, joins the circus to uncover the truth behind her fantastical persona. The novel blends magical realism with postmodern elements, ultimately leaving readers questioning the nature of truth and illusion in Fevvers's life and the world around her.

Angela Carter was a genre-bender: her essays, stories, and novels are all-encompassing in their verve, imagination and polemic. Like many modern and post-modern writers she had a great fondness for the intertextuality that pastiche and a wide range of illusions permit. She brings together magic realism, post- modernism, feminism, the Gothic, the real and the surreal.Published in 1979, The Bloody Chamber and Other Stories retells classic fairy tales in a disturbing, blood-tinged, explicit way. Angela Carter revises Sleeping Beauty, for example, from an adult, twentieth-century perspective. Thank you so much ma'am for this marvellous session! ♥️ Love you ma'am!😍🥰♥️♥️

In Nights at the Circus, Angela Carter employs polyphonic and carnivalesque elements to create a rich tapestry of voices and perspectives, reflecting the chaotic and vibrant nature of the circus world. The narrative is structured through multiple viewpoints, primarily through the dialogues between Sophie Fevvers and Jack Walser, which reveal various layers of truth and illusion, thus embodying a polyphonic style that challenges singular narratives. This multiplicity is further enhanced by the carnivalesque atmosphere, where traditional social hierarchies are subverted, allowing for a playful exploration of identity, gender, and sexuality. The circus acts as a microcosm where the grotesque and the fantastical coexist, emphasizing themes of transformation and the fluidity of reality, ultimately inviting readers to question the boundaries between the real and the imagined.

The Sense of an Ending by Julian Barnes follows Tony Webster, a retired man reflecting on his past relationships, particularly with his ex-girlfriend Veronica and his childhood friend Adrian Finn, who committed suicide. The narrative begins with Tony receiving a bequest from Veronica's mother, which includes a diary belonging to Adrian, prompting him to confront his memories and the accuracy of his recollections. As he delves into his past, he grapples with themes of memory, regret, and the complexities of human relationships, ultimately revealing how selective memory shapes our understanding of life. The novel culminates in a shocking revelation that challenges Tony's perceptions and forces him to confront the consequences of his actions and the nature of his past.

In 1992 Angela Carter died, very young, from lung cancer. At the time of her death Carter was working on a sequel to Charlotte Bronte’s Jane Eyre, based on the later life of Jane’s stepdaughter. This work remained unfinished and now on a synopsis survives.
Julian Barnes had the family who were highly dedicated to literature services.

    Dear all,
This is my success story dedicated to our dear Kalyani Mam.
I was attempting since 2014, everytime i lost in points difference.
I passed NET this time just because of our dear Mam !!!
I had reached a point in life where every hope ended, at an age of 29 still jobless and desperatly struggling behind my dream. I always dreamed to become an Assistant Professor in English.
One day, i came across Mams free TH-cam videos. I was financially not well enough to get paid online courses then. The videos helped me a lot to clear the concepts.
Mams explanations & examples, tips & motivation, all made the classes wonderfull!
Gradually i started attending Mams Everyday @ 8 & @10 courses, Udemy lecturers and studied almost all materials Mam provided.
The situations were not at all favourable. To be precise like many of us faced, exam center was at a long distance, computers jammed multiple times, questions were quite tricky. Besides these my parents were affected by covid during my exam preparation days.
However i did my best under Mams guidance & motivation.
Miracles occured on the result declaration day once i checked the site i couldnt believe my eyes. I passed !!! That feeling is really great! My life changed exactly from that moment. All the past pains vanished for future smiles.
I attained this just because of Mam. Every year Mam has a bunch of successful students who spreads her fame and make her proud.
This time i am really blessed to be one among them to share with you all my success story dedicated to our dear Kalyani Vallath Mam.
Thanks a lot Mam for being the guiding light amidst the encircling gloom in our lives.
May God almighty give you all blessings to continue your mission of enlightening young souls towards wisdom in the coming decades ahead !!!
I am 100% sure that many of you will be writing your success stories here when next NET exam results are announced.
We are all really blessed to get such an inspirational teacher to guide us.
May God Bless You all to attain your dream very soon!!!
