And some vocal coaches commented that he is so technical that only singers can truly understand what he is doing. Wait til you hear his version of "AVE MARIA" and "IKANAIDE". The latter is Japanese song which he sung during the Tokyo Jazz Festival in 2021. I heard a vocal coach commenting that every singer must watch and listen to his Ikanaide performance.

This particular version comes from the live Dimash Digital Show put on during the pandemic after all live concerts were cancelled and he had to cut his Arnau Tour short. The song SOS comes from the famous 1978 Canadian-French rock opera 'Starmania', which is well known in French-speaking countries, and is a pretty difficult song to sing. In 2017 Dimash received a wild card for the competition “The Singer” in China. He was the youngest participant ever at 22 years old and the first non-Chinese. I think you don't like Opera - whenever he sings a high operatic note, you don't like it. But if he sings a high pop style note (or you can think of that tone also as musical theater, or even clean metal vocals), then you like it. One of the big things about Dimash is that he effortlessly switches between vocal styles, octaves, inflections and techniques, & melds them all into 1 seamless style of his own. I know a lot of people who are similar to you as far as not liking some kinds of sounds, to me it's kind of just being set in your ways too much. People in the west are so used to hearing the same kinds of things all the time. This guy is a genius who is doing something completely different.
Actually...no. I just wasn't used to him and his voice. I grew up on musicals and Broadway. I used to blast the entire Phantom of the Opera CD in my car wherever I went. I also love The Three Tenors, and Andrea Bocelli. There are some sounds in opera I don't like, true. Some voices aren't my favorite. But I give everything a try. After quite a few more listens, I grew to like everything in this song.

Intrigued is good enough for a beginning! I was the same. At first I really didn't know what to think about this song. I was just confused because I'd never heard anyone sing this way before. I didn't love his voice instantly either. After watching various videos about him (there were a lot of cute ones from his time in China as well as various interviews) I just loved his character as a human being! He is from Kazakhstan and this is from a digital concert he did during the pandemic. If you want to see him do English, do Stranger. He is fluent in his native Kazakh and Russian but English is quickly becoming his third with a little Mandarin thrown in for good measure. Not only is he good looking but he is a very humble, respectful and kind man. Dimash can draw you in. He can sing the lowest of low notes to off the piano whistle. He composes music, acts and plays multiple instruments. He is classically trained, and he does a lot of Neo Classical music but can also rap in Kazakh. He has fans all over the world so you will see a lot of languages. His concerts are made up of people who fly from all over the world to where ever he is performing. Song in Spanish? El Amor En Ti. You will see his baritone, his tenor, his soprano and his pop voice all during the same song.
Very honest first reaction, the goosebumps were your subconscious reaction to an incredible performance, not your nervousness about your reaction, completely understandable. Dimash is absolutely incredible and the more you listen to him the more you want to listen. I loved that you immediately got the roller coaster or wave effect of his voice, there are layers upon layers within many of his songs, taking you on an emotional journey with him. I like that when you edited and weren’t so worried about your reaction, that you were able to enjoy all of it, I can understand being nervous, especially if you’ve reacted honestly to someone and had negative responses. Not everyone love’s what a lot of others love, those who are touched by Dimash have family members who just aren’t touched by him. I consider myself and anyone who is touched by this voice and incredible person, very fortunate. He is humble, kind, caring, generous, respectful an Ambassador of Peace and he shares his gift to help us escape our reality and have joy. Not everybody likes Mozart or Monet. I do. Although my favorite painting is a Picasso, and my favorite time period for painting is Pre-Raphaelite. As for Mozart, I love his tunes. Very catchy. However, I'm more of a Bach and/or Chopin person. Everybody has an opinion. Also, I don't hate his voice. Just a couple notes that bothered me. And he sings The Diva Dance from the Fifth Element. The Bastau version is the best IMHO. He is from Kazakhstan which is considered part of Eurasia. The country borders on both China and Russia. He sings in multiple languages and speaks fluent Kazakh, Russian, some Chinese and his English has been improving a lot. He will be 29 in May. He is currently living in LA as he works with a major producer.

He sings every genre (even raps) He has many recent performances, but I would highly recommend "Sinful Passion" 2018, "Stranger" 2021,"Olimpico" 2019 link on Igor Krutoy's (composer that came out of retirement to work with Dimash) TH-cam channel, "Adagio" from The Singer 2017, "Ikanaide" 2021 Tokyo Jazz Festival, and "Ave Maria" 2021 at New Wave. After digesting those performances, I can't stress enough my recommendation for his most recent song and music video (mini movie) the artistic masterpiece "The Story of One Sky" that he wrote the screenplay for and spent 3 years composing the music for, which displays a lot of his range (not all) and soooo many vocal techniques and dynamics, including sub harmonics, whistle register, bass, tenor, baritone, classical, jazz, pop, rock and unreal metal screams....and unbelievable dramatic acting. It was probably better to have started with this song from the version from the China 2017 contest called The Singer, where 12 of the most popular Chinese singers participated, because that way you wouldn't have had any doubt that he wasn't singing live. Participation in this competition is by invitation only and only the best at that time participate. That was the first time a foreigner (non-Chinese) participated on a Wild Card basis. In my opinion you have discovered the best singer in the world. He has perfect pitch and currently has a vocal range of 7,7 octaves (vocal fry C1 (B0) - whistle D8 off the piano). That means he hits notes in almost 8 octaves and sings consistently in 6 octaves. Not in one song (mostly😅). At least what he has shown us so far. He plays several instruments like piano, dombra (a kazach instrument), drums, marimba and more. He has classical as well as contemporary vocal training and sings in different genres from opera to pop, jazz, Kazakh folk, ballads and he even raps a bit. And often he skillfully mixes several genres in one song. And meanwhile in more than 10 languages. The latest songs (from Tokyo Jazz Festival in November 2021) are Ikanaide in Japanese and at his concert in Almaty on September 23, 2022 he sang a new song in Spanish (about 7 languages in one concert!). He sings no mainstream and is a completely independent artist. He has his own company „DimashAli Creative Center“ and is managed by his father Kanat. Believe it or not but he really gets better and better. Every time you think you know him and his art, you realize your so wrong. He's very spiritual and thankful for the gift God has given him. But he also works very hard to improve his vocal skills. He said in an interview that he trains at least 3 hours every day, if necessary, it can be 10 hours to prepare for a concert. He loves swimming and also a lot under water. Maybe that's why he has this large lung capacity to hold the notes as long as he does. He's a singer you can't put in any box. He sings almost every genre there is. Every time you watch a video, expect the unexpected. Even the covers he sings he makes his own and brings elements into the song that you would never expect. Congratulations for discovering Dimash, arguably the best singer of our time. I understand your confusion since I was confused myself when first hearing him sing an earlier version of SOS. You will find more of the specific registers that you said you liked in Sinful Passion, another one of his great performances. And he has sung the Diva Dance song from Fifth Element multiple times. The most impressive version is from his Bastau concert, closely followed embedded in the Chinese song Drunken Concubine in a duet (or rather vocal battle) with Beijing Opera singer Li Yugang. You can react to both version in one reaction video because the Bastau version is only about 1.5 minutes long, but soooo good.

You're partially right about half of people loving him and half of them not, but not all of that half hate him or his voice. A lot of them appreciate him and what he does and doesnt deny the talent and hardwork and respect everything about him as a person, but they dont get the music style or his way of singing. I've always been one of those people who loves his voice, but it took me a while to get to used to his style and the operatic sound to his voice at times, although I still liked it. Its strange. I think its an acquired taste.
Hello!!! I was never drowned to operatic singing, I probably had listened to Bochelli, Joe Groheben and that was a lot already. When I heard Dimash for the first time part of that approach that I had towards opera came up. But as more I listen to Dimash I went into a travecie of understanding that this artist is like no other as he unifies different genders into one song. Pop, rock belting, jazz, folk and opera. When using the English alphabet, the native spelling of Dimash's surname uses Q, but the consonant sound that goes with that letter doesn't exist in English, so in translation, we often use a K, because that's the closest English comes to the native Kazakh sound. In technical linguistic terms, K is an unvoiced velar plosive, while Q is an unvoiced uvular plosive; in layman's terms, the two sounds are made in the same manner and by the same method, but in a slightly different place : the Q is made an inch or so farther back in the mouth, at the uvula rather than at the velum, where the K sound is made. That Q sound doesn't exist in English and is awkward for most native English speakers, so quite often, we change the spelling in translation and run with that. Names are funny. You'll also see Dimash's surname spelled with an added -ov at the end : Kudaibergenov. The -ov is a Russian masculine surname suffix; if Dimash's sister were beside him onstage (as she sometimes is), her surname would be listed as Kudaibergenova, with -ova being the feminine suffix. Since Dimash performs all over the world, the -ov isn't there all the time, but when it is, that's all it is : a Russian surname suffix. As for people ever "either loving or hating" Dimash's voice, well, I don't know who you've been listening to, but I've been listening to a LOT of Dimash performances and reactions for a little over 4 years now, & I've never heard of a single person ever hating his voice. I think the notes you didn't care for used operatic techniques. And because he uses various singing styles and techniques in a smash-up or D-mash-up it may take a couple of views to get used to him. He calls this genre: "Neo-classical." It incorporates traditional, native, indigenous etc., instruments and lyrical styles into pop, classical renditions and covers in either Western or Eastern musical genres. And btw, I might be prejudiced, but DIMASH is the perfect package inside and out.
Yes! You are correct. While there are operas and opera singers I love....this was something I wasn't used to. I've listened to it a billion times now, and I love this song. It's so unique. So Dimash is from Kazakhstan, a country politically born in 1991, after the collapse of the former Soviet Union. But of course, the Kazakhs have existed there for centuries. Thank you for your honest reaction. This young man is in the process of pursuing his PhD in music after finishing his masters degree with soaring grades. And some vocal coaches commented that he is so technical that only singers can truly understand what he is doing. Wait til you hear his version of "AVE MARIA" and "IKANAIDE". The latter is Japanese song which he sung during the Tokyo Jazz Festival in 2021. I heard a vocal coach commenting that every singer must watch and listen to his Ikanaide performance.
"Ikanaide" gets me every time even though I don't understand a word and forgot all the music I learned in childhood. His humming is beautiful! WTF!

I think you don't like Opera - whenever he sings a high operatic note, you don't like it. But if he sings a high pop style note (or you can think of that tone also as musical theater, or even clean metal vocals), then you like it. One of the big things about Dimash is that he effortlessly switches between vocal styles, octaves, inflections and techniques, & melds them all into 1 seamless style of his own. I know a lot of people who are similar to you as far as not liking some kinds of sounds, to me it's kind of just being set in your ways too much. People in the west are so used to hearing the same kinds of things all the time. This guy is a genius who is doing something completely different.

I grew up on musicals and Broadway. I used to blast the entire Phantom of the Opera CD in my car wherever I went. I also love The Three Tenors, and Andrea Bocelli.
There are some sounds in opera I don't like, true. Some voices aren't my favorite. But I give everything a try.
After quite a few more listens, I grew to like everything in this song.

Intrigued is good enough for a beginning! I was the same. At first I really didn't know what to think about this song. I was just confused because I'd never heard anyone sing this way before. I didn't love his voice instantly either. He is fluent in his native Kazakh and Russian but English is quickly becoming his third with a little Mandarin thrown in for good measure. Not only is he good looking but he is a very humble, respectful and kind man. Dimash can draw you in. He can sing the lowest of low notes to off the piano whistle. He composes music, acts and plays multiple instruments. He is classically trained, and he does a lot of Neo Classical music but can also rap in Kazakh. He has fans all over the world so you will see a lot of languages. His concerts are made up of people who fly from all over the world to where ever he is performing. Song in Spanish? El Amor En Ti. You will see his baritone, his tenor, his soprano and his pop voice all during the same song.
Very honest first reaction, the goosebumps were your subconscious reaction to an incredible performance, not your nervousness about your reaction, completely understandable. Dimash is absolutely incredible and the more you listen to him the more you want to listen. I loved that you immediately got the roller coaster or wave effect of his voice, there are layers upon layers within many of his songs, taking you on an emotional journey with him. I like that when you edited and weren’t so worried about your reaction, that you were able to enjoy all of it, I can understand being nervous, especially if you’ve reacted honestly to someone and had negative responses. Not everyone love’s what a lot of others love, those who are touched by Dimash have family members who just aren’t touched by him. He is from Kazakhstan which is considered part of Eurasia. The country borders on both China and Russia. He sings in multiple languages and speaks fluent Kazakh, Russian, some Chinese and his English has been improving a lot. He will be 29 in May. He is currently living in LA as he works with a major producer.

Congratulations, you just witnessed the greatest vocalist alive. He’s from Kazakhstan, sings in 15 different languages (speaks Kazakh and Russian fluently, some English, and a little Mandarin). He plays 8 musical instruments and is currently working on his PhD in musicology (has a Masters in composition). He’s been training since the age of 5, has a 7 octave 2 semi-tone range, has absolute pitch, and is an amazingly humble man. His mother is an opera singer and his father is a singer and producer. He sings every genre (even raps) He has many recent performances, but I would highly recommend "Sinful Passion" 2018, "Stranger" 2021,"Olimpico" 2019 link on Igor Krutoy's (composer that came out of retirement to work with Dimash) TH-cam channel, "Adagio" from The Singer 2017, "Ikanaide" 2021 Tokyo Jazz Festival, and "Ave Maria" 2021 at New Wave. After digesting those performances, I can't stress enough my recommendation for his most recent song and music video (mini movie) the artistic masterpiece "The Story of One Sky" that he wrote the screenplay for and spent 3 years composing the music for, which displays a lot of his range (not all) and soooo many vocal techniques and dynamics, including sub harmonics, whistle register, bass, tenor, baritone, classical, jazz, pop, rock and unreal metal screams....and unbelievable dramatic acting. He has fan clubs in 132 countries.
It was probably better to have started with this song from the version from the China 2017 contest called The Singer, where 12 of the most popular Chinese singers participated, because that way you wouldn't have had any doubt that he wasn't singing live. Participation in this competition is by invitation only and only the best at that time participate. That was the first time a foreigner (non-Chinese) participated on a Wild Card basis. The regulations from that time did not allow a non-Chinese to win because he came in second place. It should be noted that he was the very first contestant to enter the stage in the first stage! Dimash Qudaibergen is from Kazakhstan, a former Asian republic from the former USSR that won its independence in 1991. The country was bilingual, the official language in the USSR being Russian, but the population currently speaks the native language, which is Kazakh. Immediately, the new rulers established that the Kazakh language will become the new official language and by 2025, the use of the Cyrillic alphabet will be switched to the Latin one. Also he, who speaks fluent Kazakh and Russian, calls himself Qudaibergen right on his TH-cam channel. He also speaks Chinese, the Mandarin dialect and English, both learned from 2017 until now, without being a perfect speaker of these last 2 languages. He sings through phonetic learning in 15 languages, also benefiting from the texts translated into Kazakh to know their meaning and the moment when they are pronounced during the song to harmonize the text and the music during the performance. As a parenthesis, I have listened to more than 20 sung versions of him for SOS and there are no 2 identical! In that contest, in the first 24 hours, he had over 600,000,000 views on a Chinese social media network, which is clearly a world record, ignored by the western mass media because he is not from the right country! According to science, the vocal extremes reached are A1 and D8, but he feels comfortable in 7 octaves and 2 semitones. In 2017 it was said that he would have 6 octaves, now there are many who have noticed his vocal development, especially in the lower register, and say that he would reach 8 octaves! In any case, in every song, in all his vocal spectrum, he can produce vibrato, which means that he is very stable in that register!

Dimash is a 28-years old singer from Kazakhstan and believe me, you’ve seen nothing at all. In my opinion you have discovered the best singer in the world. He has perfect pitch and currently has a vocal range of 7,7 octaves (vocal fry C1 (B0) - whistle D8 off the piano). That means he hits notes in almost 8 octaves and sings consistently in 6 octaves. Not in one song (mostly😅). At least what he has shown us so far. He plays several instruments like piano, dombra (a kazach instrument), drums, marimba and more. He has classical as well as contemporary vocal training and sings in different genres from opera to pop, jazz, Kazakh folk, ballads and he even raps a bit. And often he skillfully mixes several genres in one song. And meanwhile in more than 10 languages. The latest songs (from Tokyo Jazz Festival in November 2021) are Ikanaide in Japanese and at his concert in Almaty on September 23, 2022 he sang a new song in Spanish (about 7 languages in one concert!).
He sings no mainstream and is a completely independent artist. He has his own company „DimashAli Creative Center“ and is managed by his father Kanat. Maybe that’s the reason you never heard of him yet. He doesn’t sell his soul to a music label. He doesn’t want to be dictated by money when he has to sing what, when, where and how.
Many of my favorite songs are in his native tongue. He is a nice, respectful and humble person. He respects people regardless of their original, religion or profession. He truly loves his homeland Kazakhstan and his people with all his heart and always shows it with pride in many of his songs, concerts and interviews. During his concerts in Dubai, Düsseldorf and Prague in 2022, before he performed his song War And Peace, he told the audience he loves all people in every country. And there are no bad nations (only bad leaders). And I absolutely believe this.
His concert in September 23, 2022 was in his hometown Almaty, it was so amazing and it lasts almost 4 hours. Believe it or not but he really gets better and better. Every time you think you know him and his art, you realize your so wrong.
He's very spiritual and thankful for the gift God has given him. But he also works very hard to improve his vocal skills.
He said in an interview that he trains at least 3 hours every day, if necessary, it can be 10 hours to prepare for a concert. He loves swimming and also a lot under water. Maybe that's why he has this large lung capacity to hold the notes as long as he does. He's a singer you can't put in any box. He sings almost every genre there is. Every time you watch a video, expect the unexpected. Even the covers he sings he makes his own and brings elements into the song that you would never expect. Don't be surprised if you get suggestions for songs you may have already seen. Dimash has different versions of many of the same songs. They are all worth seeing. He sang this song on his digital concert in January 2021 during the pandemic. He had to cancel his tour and did this concert for his Dears/fans. That’s why there was no audiende to be seen or heard.
SOS is a song in the rock-opera „Starmania“ from 1978. The first who presented this song was the French singer and songwriter Daniel Balavione.
SOS was the first performance of the China competition (in 2017) and was his first appearance in this show. The Singer is a show in China where only established singers are invited to perform. All the singers invited to this show are already well-known artists in China who have already won awards. Dimash was invited as the first foreigner as a wild card and the youngest in the history of this show. They became aware of him because he had already won some important competitions in Kazakhstan and Belarus, among others. He was still completely unknown in China. Actually, it was intended that he would only have 1 or 2 appearances. But it came completely different. You will find more of the specific registers that you said you liked in Sinful Passion, another one of his great performances.
And he has sung the Diva Dance song from Fifth Element multiple times. The most impressive version is from his Bastau concert, closely followed embedded in the Chinese song Drunken Concubine in a duet (or rather vocal battle) with Beijing Opera singer Li Yugang. You can react to both version in one reaction video because the Bastau version is only about 1.5 minutes long, but soooo good.

You're partially right about half of people loving him and half of them not, but not all of that half hate him or his voice. A lot of them appreciate him and what he does and doesnt deny the talent and hardwork and respect everything about him as a person, but they dont get the music style or his way of singing. I've always been one of those people who loves his voice, but it took me a while to get to used to his style and the operatic sound to his voice at times, although I still liked it. Its strange. I think its an acquired taste.

Hello!!! I was never drowned to operatic singing, I probably had listened to Bochelli, Joe Groheben and that was a lot already. When I heard Dimash for the first time part of that approach that I had towards opera came up. But as more I listen to Dimash I went into a travecie of understanding that this artist is like no other as he unifies different genders into one song. Pop, rock belting, jazz, folk and opera. Like when your savor palette expands when you allow yourself to taste different foods from all over. Thank you for your reaction! 🫶

Stranger (which is in English), was written for Dimash by famous Russian Composer/Music Mogul Igor Krutoy (worth 13 Billion) who is always accompanying Dimash on piano if he composed the song. It's so fun for us "Dears" (that’s what Dimash calls his fans because he loves us as a dear family) to see how people react to him.
Some info about Dimash.His last name spells with Q know and was with K before and Kudaibergenov is the way they say it in Russia. He is born in May 24 1994. He is from Kazakhstan and has been music schooled sense 5 years old and told the teacher that the piano was out of tune! He sings about 7 octaves or so! No one knows he is still learning. He sings higher than the piano can go! He also writs and compose own songs, plays bunch of instruments including Dombra there own Kazakh instrument that has a sound you can’t believe and onley 2 strings! He also sings in about 14 (Kazakh, Turkish, Usceck, Russian, Ukranian, Serbien, Bulgarian Chinese , Italien, Spamish, French, English, German, Japanese ) languages and speaks 3 so far (Kazakh, Russian and English).
Dimash has an excellent education: he graduated from the College of Music with a degree in Opera Singing, university of arts in the specialty "Estrada and jazz vocals", and on June 18, 2020, he completed a master's degree in Composition. He graduated with a degree in opera from the music school at the University of Aktobe (2014), a degree in pop/jazz from the National Arts University in Nur Sultan (2018), just completed his Master's degree in composition (June 2020) and have started his PhD.
He have done some contests in his life but the one I think got the worlds intension is "The Singer" (Allso called "I am a singer" or "Singer") from China in 2017. The Singer is a program for established Chinese singers to face off against each other invites only in a competition where votes were cast by an audience of 500.
Dimash Qudaibergen was a last-minute inclusion (a 'dark horse'). But his performance of 'SOS D'un Terrien En Detresse' electrified the audience, his fellow competitors and the viewers who numbered in the billions (this program was one of the most-watched in China and outside).
They also got him the nickname "Imported little brother" the day after the show. They also had to get bodyguard for Dimash do to the famous over night both in China and also the world. Dimash wasn’t really prepared for that. He had come to China at 22 years young man by him self and didn’t know the language. They hade contracted him for 2 shows because they didn’t think he cold go further than that. He didn’t think they would like him. So he was nervous this performers that he had also to start the show with. But they hade to change that do to his famous over night.
Dimash got many new friends from this show and he said at some point he learned a lot from it to.

Gloria Wu's channel has the back-story about the song that is so sad and from a life story about a boy losing his parents in an awful way. Also you get to hear how Dimash sounds like then loosing his voice the day of the show!!! When he went on he didn’t know if he could sing. I'll clear up the K/Q surname mystery for you here. When using the English alphabet, the native spelling of Dimash's surname uses Q, but the consonant sound that goes with that letter doesn't exist in English, so in translation, we often use a K, because that's the closest English comes to the native Kazakh sound. In technical linguistic terms, K is an unvoiced velar plosive, while Q is an unvoiced uvular plosive; in layman's terms, the two sounds are made in the same manner and by the same method, but in a slightly different place : the Q is made an inch or so farther back in the mouth, at the uvula rather than at the velum, where the K sound is made. That Q sound doesn't exist in English and is awkward for most native English speakers, so quite often, we change the spelling in translation and run with that.
Names are funny. You'll also see Dimash's surname spelled with an added -ov at the end : Kudaibergenov. The -ov is a Russian masculine surname suffix; if Dimash's sister were beside him onstage (as she sometimes is), her surname would be listed as Kudaibergenova, with -ova being the feminine suffix. Since Dimash performs all over the world, the -ov isn't there all the time, but when it is, that's all it is : a Russian surname suffix.
As for people ever "either loving or hating" Dimash's voice, well, I don't know who you've been listening to, but I've been listening to a LOT of Dimash performances and reactions for a little over 4 years now, & I've never heard of a single person ever hating his voice. I'll admit right up front that I don't like the style of some of his music, but his voice is always absolutely superb. It may take a little adjustment if he's doing things with his voice that you're not used to, but that's about your ears, not about his voice. Hang around a while and some of the better reactors will give you quite a nice little introduction to the art & science of the human voice in song. I keep hearing that a voice like his appears only once a generation, or even once a century. Don't sell yourself short. Check it out! (But do buckle up. It'll be a wild ride.)

I think the notes you didn't care for used operatic techniques. And because he uses various singing styles and techniques in a smash-up or D-mash-up it may take a couple of views to get used to him. He calls this genre: "Neo-classical." It incorporates traditional, native, indigenous etc., instruments and lyrical styles into pop, classical renditions and covers in either Western or Eastern musical genres. And btw, I might be prejudiced, but DIMASH is the perfect package inside and out.

You say you then grew to like them, that’s probably because upon re-listening, you got used to his way of mixing different singing styles in one song, within one phrase. This song is from the 1978 French Canadian rock opera entitled Starmania, sort of science fiction type. Thus the weird melody. Though it will grow on you as it did on me upon repeat listening. You might like more his other songs where he changes less styles within a phrase, for example Opera 2; Adagio; Stranger; Ogni Pietra; Across Endless Dimensions, etc
You were reminded of the Diva Dance? Guess what. He sang it. As early as 2015, where it was caught on fan cam, he sang the full version including the aria from Lucia di Lammermoor before it. At Singer 2017, he sang it in episode 12, Confessa + Diva Dance, where he changed the infamous eleven-note bar (digitally manipulated in the movie) to a string of high staccato notes. At his Bastau concert, he sang it as the original, and with great low notes too. Then in his duet with Li YuGang, Drunken Concubine + Diva Dance, he replaced that bar with an astounding supersonic note!
I suppose you have checked out his Wikipedia page by now. So Dimash is from Kazakhstan, a country politically born in 1991, after the collapse of the former Soviet Union. But of course, the Kazakhs have existed there for centuries. His last name should be spelled with a Q, because the Qazaq government officially started changing from Cyrillic (Russian) script to Latin script in 2018.
