@@daveandrew6703 I believe due to problems with fire evacuation capabilities, faults with the ventilation system and emergency exits. There are also lawsuits going on right now for corruption and residents of the city have started to turn against it. Original planned opening date was in november of 2011, but now it's planned to open in 2020, and it has gone so far over budget.

have flown into Incheon Airport more than 40 times as a foreigner. have never waited more than 4 minutes for Arrivals processing. the airport also has a mini golf course, movie theater and an ice skating rink whattt

By comparison, after flying from Frankfurt to Detroit we had to wait in Detroit over 1 hour in Detroit, as only 2 immigration counters for foreigners were open

I heard Wal-Mart just opened a new airport as well. It's designed with 100 terminals, but only about 3 are being used at one time.

Unrelated to airports, but relating Walmart & infrastructure in the state they're headquartered in:
Gopefully either the state of Arkansas makes Walmart personally dish out a few or so billion dollars or they voluntarily donate/contribute it over within the decade, as Arkansas has plentiful obligations just on highways & interstates by itself. Primarily I-49 (between I-40 & I-30) & even I-69 (between Memphis & Texas), much less upgrading the rest of US 67 to divided highway the rest of the way between Litte Rock & St. Louis.
And let's not forget rehabbing & upgrading of existing highway miles as well... reckon Northwestern Arkansas' growing sprawl will eventually require a bypass, spurs, if not a full fledged beltway. Better yet, how're the airports doing over there? Both Little Rock & NWA?

And just yesterday, January 5th 2021, Vietnam's new Long Thanh International Airport has begun construction. Expected to complete in 2025, hopefully the new airport will significantly relieve the pressure on the already overcrowded Tan Son Nhat International Airport.
The music used makes this video go to levels very few reach. Well done.

There is also going to be a New Manila International Airport, Philippines, planned to start construction late 2019 or early 2020. Four runways are planned and capacity of 100 million passengers a year. It is being undertaken by San Miguel Corporation a private firm.

Finally. Upon exiting the airport in manila is scary with all the pollution and stuff. Hopefully they also reduce waste outside the airport because it does not look nice for families going on holidays, etc.

Incheon T2 is beautiful. I was there earlier this year and had a 17 hour layover. They have a free sleeping area with beds for passengers which you almost can’t find anywhere else.

When I was doing my thesis for architecture, these airports were just concepts 2 years ago when I was researching for my thesis project. It's so cool to see these being constructed already!

I used to be based at Tan Son Nhat in Saigon 10 years ago. I had no idea they are building a new terminal. Thanks for the video and update.
Actually, it's not a new terminal. The new airport locate in another region that about 100km from the Tan Son Nhat airport.

Blows my mind that Heathrow handles nearly 80 million passengers a year with just 2 runways!
But have you seen the way it operates? It's like an air train.
CSMIA in Mumbai catered to almost 50 million passengers with ONE single operational runway in 2017-2018!!!
Not only that, the airport can't operate 24/7 due to noise mitigation restrictions for the neighborhoods around it (which I'm baffled at why they were even allowed to be constructed next to it). It's due to get a third runway and terminal at a cost of 17 billion USD.
The housing around Heathrow was mostly built in 1930s and Heathrow was built in 1945.
It won't blow your mind so much if you actually experience it. An exercise in controlled madness for human sardines.
This is an amazing airport to experience.
It is enthusiasm level and well designed.
They are building with the concept in a dedicated way.
Incheon T2 is the most beautiful in my opinion, and they are so efficient in terms of service, and relaxing.

I'm so impressed by La Guardia, I live nearby and saw a huge construction, but didn't realize that it's gonna be such a cool and expensive project. And what is even better - the train which is going directly to the airport. Can't wait to see it!

You forgot to mention the new Manila International Airport. With a cost of around 15 billion dollars, the New Manila International Airport in Bulacan Philippines will be one of the biggest airports in the world and the biggest in Southeast Asia. Construction will commence this 2019 and will be completed in 2025. Once completed the new airport can accommodate up to 100 million passengers.
Is this true that they will also build another new airport in Cavite?

But, I'm working on business developer and I can assure u that Manila in general is very low yield destinations, meaning that Manila has a lack of business integration. Plus, Manila is a VFR market for short and medium haul flights, but not long haul flights, especially from EU cities such as Paris, Frankfurt, Rome, Amsterdam, Zurich etc. That's why so many EU airlines like Lufthansa didn't fly to Manila due to the low yields. How they want to start the new destinations to EU cities from New Manila Airport if there's almost no business traffic and integration? They need to improve their infrastructure, tourism facilities, business needs, more economic development etc before they can launched any of EU destinations direct flight from New Manila Airport.
Philippines is unlike as Thailand, which is strongly promoted as world's tourism destinations. Bangkok is #1 top city for the most visited city in the world. This is followed by Malaysia and Singapore as the 2nd and 3rd most visited countries in SEA respectively.
New Manila International Airport biggest in South East Asia. Not even build yet and you start bragging this. Biggest in terms of physical size or number of passengers handled? You got any data, statistics to support this claim? Or is it just Pignoy Pride at play again...

Salt Lake City, UT is currently rebuilding its airport, which is a 2 billion dollar project. The current airport was designed for something like 15 million passengers but currently handling 25 million passengers per year.

Vietnam is truly planning for the future. Not much to say about the U.S. as we quickly pass into the past.
Dozens of large new terminal projects across the country, including JFK, LaGuardia (total rebuild), Salt Lake City (total rebuild), Newark, Chicago O’Hare, New Orleans, Kansas City, Los Angeles, Seattle, Houston, and Washington Reagan, to name a few.

So the US is definitely not quickly passing into the past!

I'm American and I went through Incheon Airport in literally 3 minutes. While my wife a national only took 30 seconds. So there times are crazy fast in comparison to the hours it takes in America to do the same thing. Yes shots at you San Francisco!!!

LaGuardia isn't the only new airport built in the US in the past 20 years. Indianapolis International Airport opened in 2008.
He said none were build in the last 20 years , meaning the new LaGuardia is the first new since the last 20 years

My city completely demolished the old terminal and built a new one. They also changed the name to Dwight D. Eisenhower airport.

The largest airport starting operations in 2025 is Noida International Airport outside of New Delhi. 3 runways with possibility of upto 8 in future and 100m passengers by 2035.
Second is Navi Mumbai International outside of Mumbai which will serve 80m passengers when at full capacity.
