It's a misleading fact. The U.S. hasn't built any "new" airports since 2008 because they already have 503 commercial airports in existence. The real issue is when city governments do nothing about their crumbling terminals (LaGuardia, O'Hare, LAX, etc...) At least LGA is being rebuilt. I believe ATL will be next.
Can La Guardia be considered a “new airport” - Or an existing airport with a new terminal building? What criteria classifies a “new airport”? Off the top of my head, Indianapolis, San Jose and Sacramento have constructed major new terminal buildings in the last ten years.

Tanmay Bhakta My India friends I absolutely wish India well! No hard feelings! The toilet thing is just a reminder. That’s all
Vietnam is truly planning for the future. Not much to say about the U.S. as we quickly pass into the past.
Dozens of large new terminal projects across the country, including JFK, LaGuardia (total rebuild), Salt Lake City (total rebuild), Newark, Chicago O’Hare, New Orleans, Kansas City, Los Angeles, Seattle, Houston, and Washington Reagan, to name a few.
@@mgroh5564 Yes, especially the new JFK and LaGuardia terminals and (not to forget) the *8,5 billion dollar* O'Hare airport.
So the US is definitely not quickly passing into the past!
The first phase of the new Salt Lake City airport opened in September 2020, costing about 4.1B to construct. Second phase to open 2024 without a single dollar came from local Utah taxes. It is 296.7 acres with the total airport acreage being 8,044 acres. I’ve flown out of the new airport numerous times since it opened and it’s really beautiful! My Son is a Pilot for Delta and says this is a very convenient airport for Pilots to navigate. Can’t wait for it to be completely open!✈️✈️✈️
In square meters,? How much is that? Thanks
Finally!! LaGuardia will finally be an airport I won’t avoid 😂
I wouldn't count on it. ;-)
Emilio Fernandez hey fellow f1 fan 👋
I’m not holding my breath. I fly through there almost every week. The place is a nightmare.
It’s to be avoided until the work is complete. It’s a complete nightmare trying to get in and out of with h all the construction
@@stewieeeeeee2k hello fellow f1 fan aswell👋👋
Thank you for sharing a good video I will always support you
Wendover and The B1M need to do a collaboration
I have been waiting for years until someone figures out a green alternative for aviation
This is a really awesome channel 👍🏻
I just love Incheon airport. Its so easy and so well connected. Best in the world. 😎😎😎😎
These airports are so impressive!
Great video.
2:58 I stood at that exact spot just 2 weeks ago.
Who cares

LaGuardia isn't the only new airport built in the US in the past 20 years. Indianapolis International Airport opened in 2008.
He said none were build in the last 20 years , meaning the new LaGuardia is the first new since the last 20 years
LaGuardia isn't a new airport it's just getting a serious facelift
he said it wrong ... its the most "significant" project in the last 20 years
The Ancients Ancients Do you know how to use grammar?
The Ancients Ancients Not even close. Several smaller airports have built entirely new terminals around the U.S.
My city completely demolished the old terminal and built a new one. They also changed the name to Dwight D. Eisenhower airport.
Long Thành Airport started construction on 5, January 2021. Its about 15 km from my home. Im a container truck driver, I go through the area every day, the airport is expected to complete Phase 1 (the work item shown in the video is only 1/3 of the size of the airport when it is completed by 2040) by 2025 . There is a lot of work to be done, but the government , construction companies and people are very urgent, determined for this project. I believe that, it's gonna be completed ahead of schedule.
I'll go to Hồ Chí Minh city after the Tết holiday to study logistic industry.
It would be great if i have a change in the airport to serve our dear international friends like you in Vietnam.
Work hard - God bless!
The Vietnam airport looks really cool! I look forward to its opening!
It gonna take a long time to see it complete
Delhi IGI T3 is already a lead gold certified airport building
Beijing Daxing Intl Airport will be the best!
True dat
True, also long thanh is gorgeous.
Istanbul will be more potential
Rajat Jaiswal Turks are Korean level annoying 😂
Maybe one of the biggest - but the best? So far, Chinese airports are big but not very comfortable or smooth for travelling. And I have been to many Chinese airports, old and new..
engineers in 2019: lets build some outstanding airports by 2025
corona: 2025 is an important year sin't it?, let me delay
B1M: 5 airports taking off by 2025
Coronavirus: Hold my beer...
The New Manila International Airport with the budget of US$15. It will laid in 2,500 hectare land in Bulacan, Philippines With 4 runways and can be develop until 6 runways Philippines, the Department of public works and highway announce last week. Ground breaking will be this year. It will the largest in 2025
The B1M doesn't want to cover the beauty and marvel of Filipino construction, he is rascist against us Filipinos.
The most beautiful airport here is Beijing Daxing
I think Long Thanh Intl Airport is better than Beijing Daixing.
@@mike_not_lodic we'll see.
Yes
@@mike_not_lodic Beijing Daixing 17B $ but Long Thanh airport only 7.5B $ th-cam.com/video/f-8rY7ysf0c/w-d-xo.html
Very clear Voice and narration!!
That Incheon Airport in Korea Republic though... I think that airport is the most beautiful airport in the world....
Lol yEs
Take a look to the New İstanbul airport : 2 terminals, 6 runways, 143 Gates, upto 200 million passenger capacity. 40000 car parking capacity, a otel with 451 cabins and a Courthouse.
Please make a new list for 100 million and over.
First constructed airport in USA in 20+years. Sums up American infrastructure and innovation about right.
SLC is being rebuilt right now. Should be completed by September 2020.
@@bobogren2761 That's good news. Is SLC still a major hub for Delta?
Can La Guardia be considered a “new airport” - Or an existing airport with a new terminal building?
What criteria classifies a “new airport”?
Off the top of my head, Indianapolis, San Jose and Sacramento have constructed major new terminal buildings in the last ten years.
@@gvs376 Yes, it's still a major hub for Delta.
Vietnam's Long Thanh airport is very beautiful
Missed the Jewar Airport, with 8 runways and a mega aero polis planned. One of the biggest airports in all of India and probably South East Asia
New Manila International Airport (Airtropolis) is coming. Construction will start by the end of 2019 and will be completed within 4-6 yrs. and has a budget of 15B (USD) ca.
Dont believe to that 4-6 years. That would definitely be around 6-8 years to finish. They're just making a hype
Well, at least there's somethiv to hope for...and also, though it's approved the by the the government howerver everything will be managed and financed by San Miguel Corp., thus it won't be fae from truth...or else pag lumampas sa alloted time nila they will lose a lot...
Yeah. Hopefully they will stick to their plan. I wonder where they'll get the budget for the airport. That's a very big amount..
Let's hope for the best! SM Corp is rich enough to do that. And they'll be the one to manage it so they have more to gain than lose once it is done...
You forgot Bengaluru international which is in the process of getting a new runway and terminal and is currently the fastest growing airport in India
Meanwhile in Mexico our president cancelled the second largest airport under construction in the world, just behind the new Istanbul airport. It was going to serve Mexico City with 3 landing tracks in its first stage with a capacity of 70 million passengers per year, with a future expansion of 3 more landing tracks (6 in total) and a capacity of 135 million passengers :'(
Airport of the future!
Very nice video! 😁
ISTANBUL AIRPORT IS THE BEST AIRPORT HAS EVER BUILD.I CAN NOT WAIT TO SEE AIR CONTROL TOWER IS SO BEAUTIFUL
