I bookmarked this video. My 11-year-old nephew wanted to plant miniature blue popcorn and this was the by far the best information from start to finish. We will continue to refer back to it. Wish us well! :-)
Julie, I’m elated to have found your video about mini blue popping corn. So grateful to know that mine were harvested at the right time - phew! Had I seen your video before today, I would have known about the best times to hand pollinate but thankfully they did fairly well (I planted them incredibly close together). Next time I’ll hang them to dry as you suggest as well. South Carolina, Zone 7b.
Thanks for your video ... you explained it very well 😊...I was watching other videos on TH-cam they were using paper bags to hand pollinate corn cobs... but here you said we need to get out daily and hand pollinate... please can you explain the difference?😅
I'm not familiar with the paper bag method, so I can't tell you the difference. But, the reason I hand pollinate daily for about 10 days, is because new silks keep growing out daily. Every silk that doesn't get pollinated, will be a missing kernel of corn.

I wish you the best of luck!! Let me know how it goes!
