All rise for Capt.Jack! King of the wild frontier. King of photographing, stills and video of the Appalachian Trail in its full glory and beauty. Been with you since Virginia. Wanted to check in. I have watched each "episode" along the way. You spread a lot of joy with your way.....coffee in hand each morning I get to see the wonders of the AT.....Your are a spirit and you grace us by showing us the SPIRIT of the AT. Thank you for what you do. ( Must get second cup of Joe and re-watch this one. You have done well. )
This was an all-time classic Capt. Jack video. We find out he can hike, eat supper, stroll across bridges, and film at the same time 😂 for one thing, but the images at the end in front of the incredible old-timey tune from Alison Krause are just breathtaking. Love the focus on the driftwood (a dabbling swan?), the fact that you’re letting us sit there with you on that rock as night falls over that moving water, and particularly love 17:08 and 17:21. The metal grays, blacks, blues and purples make that yellow-orange ribbon of sunset look like a glimpse of something beyond this world. I got an idea why you chose that song 😉Bravo!
Another awesome hiking day. Absolutely beautiful video. I just had two thoughts: You've been out there for months. What are you gonna do when you reach the end? Then, even worse, I thought, what are we gonna do? I look so forward to your videos and I'm sure so many others do as well.
Stunning video, Captain Jack! It's pretty tough to surpass the bar you've set in all your other videos, but this one was definitely next-level. You're looking strong and in good spirits, best wishes to you for the final leg of your amazing journey.
Another awesome video. I’ll fly away, how I love that song. Brings back great memories. Just beautiful … Such a great journey for you and for us for getting to share it with you. ❤❤❤❤❤
Just so special. The lake, the wind, those waves, the clouds scudding through that colorful sky. Truly magic. That music… so happy for you but melancholy as the end is near.
Great music choice. This vid hit me right in the memory bank. I hiked in 2010 and hung my hammock in this very area. Thank you for your vlog. I have watched all of them and love the interesting way you shoot the trail scenes. Congratulations on your sobriety and keep up the good work.
… hands down….❤your best trail video to date!!! EVERYTHING….EVERYTHING… was on point 🎉!!! Including the music with the water and mountains! I’m beyond Impressed!!!!
I have to say that your music choice during your hike has been awesome. Take your time getting to Katahdin, I’m dreading not having your videos to watch after your summit…lol
How the hell are you guys, I been radio silent for awhile but I'm back and still loving the content. Bro if you ever hiking in the Ozarks area let me know, it would be cool to drop you a care package
Hi Captain Jack, early on in this adventure you were having terrible knee pain. It's been a long time since we have heard you mention this issue that many of us backpackers suffer from. Is there anything in particular that you did to help with your knee issue. Take care and enjoy the rest of your hike you're doing great not only hiking but capturing the experience. Take care
Bob dropped out in Virginia, for a couple of different reasons : 1) He wasn't really into the rising Summer temperatures and increased bug / flies activity 2) There was a job he had previously wanted to purse, that became available. 3) His Grandfather's health began to deteriorate and he wanted to return home to help out family with him. "Bob's" Grandfather did end up Passing on a couple of months after his return home...so just for that reason alone, it was good that Bob went home to spend as much time with his Grandfather as he could, before Passing. CJ said they were really close...the AT will be there later...family comes first.
Awesome
Best video yet capt 👍thanks for sharing. Hope you flip and hike back to springer 👍
Great song for setting up camp. Semper Fi
Wonderful Maine👍👍👍K soon!

Maine is far more rugged than I imagined. Other vlogging hikers have not really shown a lot of these rocky climbs. I’m still enjoying your videos!

What happened to Bob? I must have missed something thing. I met you guys in virginia at the shelter near creeper trail.
Went home.
