This is gonna be good ! Mr. Harris Pilton, your friend and mine.. he is always at his best when he let's it rip !! LoL ! 😊 Listening now, and going to stream the rest of this on my commute to downtown Reno ! Cheers, guys
They have ! I bought a collection of all UK press, and our journey this year to Tokyo and Bangkok was terrific, again ! I'm thoroughly enjoying these interviews, looking forward to Chef Steve's , Brandon, and Steve Herold's. Good work, Chance 🎵
Harris is one of my favorite guys in the VC and he reminded me I need to send him some Fela info! Harris is spot on, show your best stuff first. 33% make it to the end of my video. Always get the best out front. Great interview Chance, both of you have a great personality which made for a wonderful video. Harris is the 12 inch single king. Every time I show one on my channel I bring up Harris! Trying to get some street cred with him. Awesome interview.
Big fan of Harris. Great interview, Chance. I dig Harris’ style and am fairly certain he has good music tastes as I love many of the same records (except Squirrelbait’s Skag Heaven I thought was pretty good). I recommend not skipping Harris’ intro monologues as they are highly entertaining. Cheers!
Best advice/takeaway "It's not like a movie, no one's waiting for the ending (in the VC)". Thanks again CB for introducing me to a new cool VCer (and channel) Harris! Great to hear his tale of 90s (cheap) record buys👍👍👍
Hi Chance, just hopped on to see some really nice comments. Thanks again for allowing me to do this. Really enjoyed it. I notice I didn’t answer all your questions. I’ve got about 1900 records & there’s not enough room for me to discuss my thoughts on the Jazz revival 😂...actually I have about 50 jazz records. Thanks again my friend 😊
Great talk guys, I been watching Harris for a few years now, my favorite from the UK. I have similar tastes with alternative and R&B soul funk albums. 👍
''What does VCUK/UKVC mean to you personally''? ''not alot...no'' 🤣 (🤔I don't think I've ever heard Chance cackle with laughter like that before). I just want to state for the record that I totally reject VCUK and all it stands for. I'm UKVC all the way, its a way of life, a code if you will, you'll never break us, ok me (even passively) ; ). I remember all those 80s 12" variants to shift more stock up the charts. 12"s are the underrated audiophile experience. Harris, I believe the official policy of my Oxfam is indeed Discogs median minus 30% as I sometimes have to remind them! It doesn't stop them sometimes trying for more. Very informative stream guys, I learnt some new things, eg Harris is into Strippers etc. cheers 👍
Hi Stevie. I'm all for your team of UK commrades getting together, particularly when music talk is the focus. Name or no name, I think that's the spirit of what any community should be. As for cartoon makers and other vagabonds that litter those streams in the gallery, well, they are unavoidable - and they aren't even British! Best - C
Hey Stevie, thanks for the thoughtful response. I was thinking on my feet a bit with that response, and was slightly twitchy on how it might be perceived. I really enjoy Ian’s stream (have probably seen them all) I love England, but I’m not one of life’s patriots, never have been, so I’m always slightly wary of metaphorically planting flags in the ground. The joy of TH-cam for me is that geography becomes totally irrelevant, we’re all a keyboard click away, which I’m hoping came over with my answer. TBH we’re lucky having an ‘Oxfam music’ as it’s probably a bit of an outlier..even for Oxfam, but I could do a top ten purchases there that have probably cost me £150.00 in total, that combined are worth £750.00 plus. As you know it often boils down to being in the right place at the right time though 😊
@@Harrispilton22 I think it was only ever meant to be a mildly helpful slightly tongue in cheek hashtag (said in a hushed voice). I must admit I was a little taken aback by a 'debate' where it was seen as 'the rise of the 3rd Reich' (ala Channel5) 🤣. Some people just love a complaint ; ). I do however lay claim to the #SVCUKVC-S-turbo hashtag. I did come very close to doing a pi@@take UKVC video with it on the side of my car, wearing sunglasses driving with Bruno n Bonzo to New Orders World in Motion (''En-Ger-Land'') but stopped short as it might have backfired. Reflecting badly on the channel 😎. Also I cant rap very well. By some strange coincidence I usually walk into my Oxfam every Tuesday about 5mins after my man has put any new vinyl out. It keeps happening 👍
@@SteviesVinylCupboard fair comment Stevie! I wasn’t aware of that ‘debate’ 😆 but I suppose in a way that illustrates the risk. On the internet the nuance’s or intentions of things get lost, some people will stir the pot...& then all hell breaks loose. 😂 I would really would have loved you to do that video..especially as it would have been misunderstood...& all hell would have broken loose..& then I could have done a solemn black & white video with my critique of it! Would have got me some subs!
@@Harrispilton22 Definitely. Just a quick question, if it was a kind of ('I Take Responsibility' PSA) black & white video, how would you have approached it? Hands in a preying/deep thinking mode, hands clasped to chest or just a big pair of glasses? No I've got it, gather a few -talented- livestream VC -celebs- jobless people for a rendition of John Lennon's Imagine, but slightly off key and leaning into camera in as patronising way as possible. Ending with '#UKVC - Just say NO' 🤣
Very enjoyable interview Chance and nice to hear from someone on this side of the pond. I agreed with a lot of what Harris said. UK record guys are much less concerned about what system they have. I know 60+ year old guys with the most collectable UK rares who play them on their old hifi stack systems from the 80s. I will disagree and say the golden age of hip hop is 87 to 93 though but I know you also appreciate the period after 93 more than I do ☺️. See if you can interview 6inchpianist or Statictraveller...would make for great interviews I'm sure. Cheers Nige
Thanks Nige! I definitely think we’ll have more chats with folks outside the US. I know there’s a couple guys on my radar, just need to make contact. Not sure if they know the full magnetic pull that is the Concert Buddie experience 🤣. Have a great week! Thanks
Hi Nigel. Yes I agree the ‘Golden era’ will always be 87-93..which is about where I got on board (to a degree) What I liked about the 93-99 era is that there were some incredible albums GZA ‘Liquid Swords’ Mobb Deep ‘Infamous’, I always see the early period as a singles era..although like all the best music genres Hip Hop should always be about the singles 😊
@@Harrispilton22Yep, I can see where you're coming from. I just lost a bit of interest after 93 but I still have the odd LP after that year. 12s are definitely the dominant force prior to that like you say. Cheers Nige

Great conversation. Nice to see Harris in long form. He is someone i have watched for a while.
Thanks man!
Harris is a gem! One of our favorite blokes in the VC with his humor and wit. 👍 -hideelee
Haha - definitely a good bloke 😄. Thanks for taking the time to check this out!
great chat with Harris. wasn't aware of him till now. he's got a good perspective on all these record collecting videos on youtube.
Thanks Steve! A good bloke, for sure!

I’m not a regular of your channel, but this was a very enjoyable discussion with HP, one of the true characters of the non-existent VC 😂
Hello! Whatever brought you here, I’m glad you came by and appreciate you checking this out 🙏🏻 Have a great weekend!
Really enjoyed this interview! Always good to get the views and ways of collecting from someone across the pond!
Thank you sir 🤘🏻
Great interview. Gonna check out Harris’ channel. Depeche Mode 101 !
Thanks Cesar! It was good to hear about bands other than the Beatles, wasn't it? 🙂

Nice interview with Harrison One thing I noticed was the clock behind him never moves from 6:45 on the wall Hopefully he puts new batteries in!!!!
Hahaha. Even a broken clock is right twice a day
