- Finally, I land in Baku the Capital Of Azerbaijan. I Travelled to the city centre using the Express Shuttle Bus Service. The city centre central railway station is called 28th May. Other than bus you can use Bolt or Indriver app for cabs. But do not pay heed to the touts who can scam you with exorbitant rates.

@@ma.katrinacassandrabenecio1980 o took 25 mannat in city. 1000 minutes call and 15 gb data more.than enuf for 10 days. In airport they were selling at 45 mannat and it was just 2gb and 1 hour talktime. Which was very peanuts and exp and not worth

Hi, can you guide about the currency exchange? Should one carry US dollars or local currency? Where to exchange?
Carry USD. change a little at the airport. Slightly bad rates. Rest do it at city centre. However credit cards debit cards work
Thank you for the great video and info. Does the airport shuttle take you to old town? How far is the city center from old town? Would I need to take a taxi/bus from city center to old city or is it at a walkable distance? Solo traveler here who will be visiting Baku for 3 or 4 days. Thank you.

No airport shuttle takes you to 28may station. From there the old city is 3kms. You can book a bolt or uber . There is a toll of 2mannat to enter the old city by vehicle which you have to pay the driver. Best hotel in old city are countless. You can stay in mine. The link is there. But beware old city is a heritage place and no hotels will have lifts. So choose ground floor else you have to walk upstairs.

Because if i take the shuttle and it drops me off at 28 May station its pointless because ill still need a ride 3km down to the old city. Thank you for the great info. Much much appreciated! Esp note about no lift in most hotels in old city. Makes sense. Which hotel do you recommend in that area? There are so many but I dont know which one would be ideal? Everyone says Four Seasons but some said their breakfast is a joke even though its a 4+ star hotel. Shah Palace hotel some said the tubs there leak but its a historic hotel. Old City Inn I've seen video on it, its good for location but quite old from inside. So what do you suggest? Also is the carpet museum walkable from the old city?

Sorry one more question how much is Bolt? If I book with Bolt I would then again have to pay 2mannat separately to the driver to enter old city? Is it safe to use Bolt? My other friend will be female who is arriving separately solo also. Would it be safe for her? Thank you
@@bobkabob7540 airport to old city will be 8 azn. In that 1 mannat to 28 may. 3 mannat to old city. Rest you can walk. You can check my hostel. Also carpet musuem is opp the old city near the Deniz mall at the Caspian sea front. But walkable again

My layover is 16 hours, do I need to collect all baggage ? And again check in all baggage ? Or it will automatically be transferred to connect flight ?

What are your airlines. Which country your passport.. then i can answer properly
If airlines different you will need transit visa. It Etihad both then also you will need transit visa. As Abu Dhabi is not lenient like dubai no matter how long your layover they will let you transit
At what time did you took this bus. Is this bus operational at 1 AM in the night?
Bus is operational 24 hours. In 30 min intervals. Don't let any scammers misguide you. If rules changed ask at the airport helpdesk they will guide you accurately

@@Rajyou2b there was a huge delay at Abu Dhabi so I landed around 9pm and was out by 930 945pm. Took bus at 10pm. It was smooth. But beware it’s cashless. So either you buy a smart card at the airport bus counter or pay someone to do it for yoy

Did you took any transit visa as you stayed in Abu dhabi for more than 8 hours?
Yes I took transit visa as my pnr were different and airlines were different. However beware if your time between two flights is less than 8 hours then you will not get a transit visa, the website will say not required. But this means you are actually stuck it’s a weird glitch of the system. Airports in India won’t even give you boarding pass, So ensure to book flights having more than 8 hours layover .
@@travelwithsounak but bro the best ticket I am getting is Abu Dhabi at 23:40 and from Abu Dhabi to Baku at 7:00 so layover is of 7 hour 20 min. Will I get transit visa or what do you recommend? As I guess without transit I wont be able to board next flight
@@beingmusafirr yes in that case this is the worst possible situation.. my flight got delayed but actually it was a 5 hour layover. I was tensed. Then a friend told me use your return waala ticket as that had more than 8 hours layover. Since I was returning after one week so I could use that combination . Transit visa just checks your date of travel it do not have your destination and origin. Hence within a 14 day window as the rule is , my both journeys were falling. So I could do that
@@travelwithsounak but in my case I don’t have a layover while returning. Because while returning I will be entering UAE on single entry tourist visa & staying there for 4 days before I go back to India. Apke according kya kr skte h is case me?
@@beingmusafirr ok in that case you can apply for a 96 hour transit visa cost 1k_2k. Use your return flight combo to avail it but is your 4 days mini holiday in Dubai exceeding 96 hours then bro you have to spend 6k for a proper visa .... I know it's an irritating glitch. What will PPL do who arenyt flying Etihad and have less than 8 hours layover. Very frustrating bug in the system and none knows about it. I have enquired , it's the same round and roynd process visa guys sat check with your airline and airline says check with gdrfa . So stay safe nd try the 96 hour visa as a jugaad

Passport boarding pass liya, visa and vaccine certificate dekha. Didn't ask for return ticket was very chill. But for some they asked for it

If you are fully vaccinated then no. If you are from India. Covishield is one of the accepted ones.

For that you will have to do an Rt Pcr before boarding from Dubai Abu Dhabi or wherever you r coming from else they won’t let you board from the origin only

Dude I know how airline outsourcing works. Firstly this flight was 11 hours late. They didn't provide accomodation no hotels and no meal vouchers. They told to eat what you want and upload bills. Then when I was about to board I saw even the plane was not theirs. So the anger was justified. They had operational issues and hence sent a dan air which they had leased ..
@@travelwithsounak This is the reason why I said you need to know something before you say. Read the topic LEASE an aircraft. Every airline in the world LEASE the aircraft. There are companies they buy buy aircraft for leasing purposes only. But they operate according the operators standards.
Regarding other issue bear in mind that wizz air is ultra low cost airline. With the price they operate only Ryan Air operate in Europe. I hope your statement of "Not their aircraft has been reolved" if not ask

@@travelwithsounak The reason why wizzair leased an airbus 320 because thier 4 aircraft gone for maintenance. Now They have 12 aircraft all wizz air branded.
