I love the three fake accounts feigning a conversation to advertise their scummy movie website, while also massively overestimating how often people type out faces in comments in the year 2022 =) Or I guess it would have been 2021 when it happened
I love oblivion, time to time I play it like good old days. Last week I did all thief guild in max difficulty (not speed running), like a splintercell challenge haha (I just use bow and sword, so each encounter is epic :''') Anyway, great game, good run! I'm delighted that there are some people who don't use glitch to speedrun this fabulous game.
I saw a 40 min run of oblivion and I thought it was really stupid how he just fucking oneshot everything on easy mode, and duped skooma etc. I mean, it was fun to watch, and I think there should be room for that type of speedrun too. But does the speedrunning community really not accept runs like this? Thats pretty fucked.
something interesting I found was that after leaving a dungeon or something like that, if you save and load, the enemies in another region usually de-aggro so you can wait/fast travel. It doesn't work every time and I'm not entirely sure when it works, but it seems like it'd save some time
I think height is tied to run speed and they're tall. They also have a bonus in conjuration which I use a lot. The one shots are mainly because I pick the apprentice birth sign, which increases Magicka and doubles damage from spells. All damage is 6x because of the difficulty slider. High elfs are already weak to magic and the damage is so high it doesn't really matter if it's doubled. I also like the one shots lol. I started doing this because running it on easy is just a walking sim or menuing race. I wanted the hardest situation and I think juking all spells is more fun than just eating the damage.
There's a stone you need for the main quest to open a portal. That and the daedric artifact are the two things you can get before starting the quest. So I spend less time walking to and from the quest giver.
Why didn't you look through the chests in the sigil keeps after you grabbed the sigil stones? You're standing around for 10 seconds while everything burns up you might as well check for any enchanted rings while you wait. Even the tiniest buff at lvl1 is a tremendous upgrade.
At zero carry weight you are at your max speed. Every pound you get actually lowers your speed. Most people don't realize this, but if you drop everything in a normal playthrough you'll be going what feels like mach 3.
Duping is using a glitch to clone items... I save before attempting locks, if someone were to dupe locks they'd make thousands and just mashing auto until it works gaining skill with each break... the purpose of speedrunning an RPG on hard difficulty is not to test my skill in the lockpick mini game something unaffected by difficulty... also vindasel isn't locked
Also, in oblivion the ai for humanoid npcs (dremora and mortals) seems to aimbot and guarantee a connect when you go into melee distance. It’s basically a guaranteed death since the level is too low and there is no good armor. The npc will lead with a regular attack with a shorter animation than power attacks. The mythic dawn also wield daggers which are fastest. Even with a short attack range they are sure to score a hit. Thus you can’t do melee and try dodging via movement speed. If you did marksman you would run out of arrows, and it would take very long to spell enemies to death. For a speedrun poison can bypass the damage multiplier as can conjures. There a couple ways to improve damage dramatically, like damaging stats with potions and fortifying fatigue, and stacking weakness to magic effects on a dagger. These take too long to set up on a speedrun, and there is no benefit to fighting when you don’t have to.
Warps are save manipulation... you save a file glitch the save so you can go to a previous save with a current inventory traveling across the game map instantly... Everything I do can be done with any version of the game and uses the mechanics of the game... There's one glitch and that is skipping the dialogue when returning umbra... The reason I did this type of run was because I wanted to use exploits in the game mechanics not bugs from playing a specific version and doing something like making a million items out of thin air or clipping through walls
My bad. I assumed you meant fast travel for warp. Didnt know that was a thing, as I play console. I was looking for a no fast travel run/time. Other then the confusion on my part, I loved it. And I dont see the statue as a glitch. They forgot/didnt add the dialog to barbus so I consider that a great run
You can use any daedric artifact. The quest start is locked by a level cap but if you kill umbra and give the statue her sword he gives you the artifact. I think I just chose umbra because it's close to the starting tutorial.
@Howhaveyouben oh I just meant where in this video did you pick up the masque of clavicus vile? I probably missed it bc wasn't 100% paying attention. Like time stamp in the video. And I'm just gonna go get azura star for now, no point in restarting lol
Funny how the horses shouldn't witness their own theft or they'll tell on you.
I know I am kinda randomly asking but do anybody know of a good website to stream new movies online?
@Samuel Beau definitely, I have been using flixzone for months myself =)
@Samuel Beau thanks, I signed up and it seems to work :D I appreciate it!
@Romeo Alaric Happy to help :)

seeing one of my favorite games get absolutely mutilated makes me happy and confused
also, can I ask why you chose a female high elf?
I gotta say this was a much more entertaining run to watch than people just stacking paintbrushes. Glad I found this video
thanks I'm working on all quests...

Its crazy how the skyrim equivalent to this has 2 million views lol
those attempts to get that book was awesome. i dont even remember all those folks using lightning!

There’s so many things I don’t understand about this run but I laughed a good bit of times. Good stuff bro.
hundreds hours of playtime they said... playing would be fun, they said...
xBirds there’s a few in oblivion too, like the end of the dark brotherhood
It is fun. As for hundreds of hours, you can spend an arbitrary amount of time wandering and getting into trouble.
"Where is your dignity now?"
"Undresses"
What an amazing run. Well played!

Martin: Alright that's it, I have had enough of your BULLSHIT. Stop. Punching. Me.
Is there a specific reason to go High elf? Breton also gives a reasonable mana boost, and you might not get oneshot by lightning bolts.

Why did you go into the second ruins, with the zombies and goblins?

Would you say that you didn’t dupe lock picks to pull Umbra from Vindasel?
Duping is using a glitch to clone items... @Howhaveyouben do you ever think about Vin diesel when you read vindasels name
Why did he need the masque of clavicus vile? Personality?
You need a daedric artifact to give martin
Why don't you fight the Mythic Dawn guys at the beginning? You keep making the Emp's guys do all the work.
Holy crap. I never realized you could let the Emperor die. I always thought that would be an instant game over.
difficulty is so high he does no damage to them and if he gets hit 2-3 times he dies
If he aggros them it takes more time and he cant exactly fight them without getting squashed
