  • The new Orange Line train announcement has been removed due to the (possible) retirement of the Hawker-Siddeley 1200-series railcars. Every Orange Line car as of recording is a CRRC 1400's. Meanwhile, the Red Line has an assortment of railcars, from the Pullman Standard 1500's - the oldest trains in the fleet - to the CRRC 1900's - the newest. Currently, supply chain issues are preventing further deliveries of the CRRC railcars.

My honest opinion - Due to CRRC repeatedly having quality control issues regarding passenger safety, I think they should pass the contract to another rolling stock manufacturer that is reputable, be it Kawasaki, Alstom or Siemens. Given that the NYCT's R142/A's, R143's and R160's for example had little to no issues running passenger service, the 1400's and 1900's would've had a much different outcome if they were produced by these companies otherwise rather than CRRC. Not to mention, the least that the MBTA could've done was to keep running the 1200's for a couple more years since the month-long shutdown.

As a New Yorker, I was so impatient with MBTA. The trains were so slow and made random stops like at 4:43

Yeah I don't blame you, it's weird how they made such stops and I always wondered why lol
