This review was beyond next level effort and high end production value! Talk about fully testing a drone. Thank you so much for putting our drone to the test and giving in an extremely detailed shakedown.
Howdy Josh - you guys look to have done a great job on the tune & overall design. Bravo!! The props-in-view with O3 is the only downside (we discussed this topic with the Helion on the iFlight Facebook forum thread on 29/Nov) but, that aside, I may well be ditching my Speedybee Master 5 V2 ;) Cheers, Steve Davies
@@Ddraig62SPDthanks Steve, yes I understand some people find props in the fpv feed frustrating. It’s not ideal but a compromise we make for better performance. As long as our action camera feed is clean of props we’re happy.
I was mainly flying a speedybee master 5v2 as the chase quad and it out preformed it in about every way. Highly recommend the afterburner was a pleasure to fly.@@Ddraig62SPD
@@Ddraig62SPD No offense but my DC5 still performs great and has no props in view. Same for the AOS. Uh, and they “cut thought the wind too” amazing. And I’m pretty sure you can see those props in the GoPro too if you use HyperView.
brilliant stuff buddy. i've recently gotten back into fpv as i flew a few protek35 quads back 4 years ago when analog fatshark googles were the only option lol. regrettably quit and went into normal dji drones but i'm back and doing indoor flying with a cinelog20 and 03 which is crazy better now. soon to also get a cinebot30 and blot my osmo action 4 to it and fly outdoors more. i'll keep on watching your videos too as very helpful.
@@westwingaero I've had the previous version of it for a while from when 2raw did a small release before the iflight collaboration, the fundamental design is the same, just some nice little improvements on the latest version, which I've also flown once and feels the same
Thanks! It depends on which battery you use. When I used some flatter packs, or mounted mine horizontally it was fine as I was generally landing quite gently (as I was landing on the batt and didn’t want to damage) so I didn’t have any issues with it tilting over. If you’re trying to land with a small thin pack though you can expect it to fall to the side on land, unless you land absolutely perfectly
Do you think the drawback of the battery mounted on bottom making for wobbly lift offs could be addressed by custom making a pad for the battery to sit on that it fits in so the drone can lift straight up off it?
It really depends on what brand of lipo you’re using. Tbh, it only really affected us with the CNHL 1500s, for most 1300s, you can mount them horizontally and they’ll balance just fine. But yes, you could definitely design and print a little landing pad if you wanted 👍
Great review Ben and Mark. Im new to FPV flying. Do you suggest the Nazgul DC ECO 6S or this one for a beginner? I like how you say it holds up in strong winds, just not a fan of the props in view. What controller are you using mainly? How do you make your drone waterproof/ water resistant when flying around waterfalls?
I was using a 2200mah 6s lipo for the 9 min flight. Although the quad can carry it with no problems, it's not the lightest and so I'd recommend a 1550mah if you want around 6-7 mins with good performance
Hey Ben! If I’m someone who wants something of great quality to get into drone recording for cinematic recording not any fancy risky aerial stunts are there any that rank higher then this you’d recommend?
I think you just need to weight up how far you wanna fly. If you’re not wanting to go too far then perhaps a BOB57 could be a good job? It’s a 6inch quad so inbetween a 7 and 5. Will give you flight performance + more flight time and the ability to carry larger packs
@@subaehaitham Haha yes, they are amazing! Choppershoot did them, right? Yeah I suppose they are the one exception where would probably would need it as you’d be in a null zone on that dive
It could be because I was running a particularly low cam angle during that flight. After stabilisation there is no props in view at all. Unstabilised you may see some edges but only at low cam angles - but again not an issue if you're gyro stabilising your footage in Gyroflow/RS.@@raffaeledamino
I bought this drone and the tune on it is very loose and it has a lot of propwash compared to all BNF drones I flew. I regret getting it honestly and BlHeli is not accessible since I guess it has a beta BF4.5 firmware or something.
probolem with aferburner is that teh resonanse in not as good a an APEXDC for example and in a crash, the way the arms are and the plastic shell, its not going to hold up`much

Superb review Ben, good to see Mark also, keep killing it guys 👊
Brilliant stuff, Ben!! Footage looks 🔥
Amazing review Ben! And man those locations in Northern Ireland look insane!!!! 🤩🤩🤩
Wow! There is some crazy footage in here! Good job and keep flying
Flip dude that was an awesome in-depth and very informative review with some super flying your killing it well done
Very well put together review ben! Amazing footage aswell!
What a great review. Covered all the bases and some great flying spots! Sub'd.
After chatting with you and Josh a few times, I finally have one on the way. Can't wait to test it out in Oz. Thanks for an amazing review, Ben! 🙏🤙
Might have just convinced me to get one. Fire video my man
Great review and edit Ben, Fantastic shots as always , looks great now i gotta add another one to my list🤣
Amazing bro.. love from INDIA 🇮🇳
Brilliant stuff ben !
Brilliant review of a really compelling product

Really good review! I also found the cnhl 1500 6s on the flat side is a really good pack for the afterburner
wait, you got the afterburner too 😲 😯 😮

Very well made review! 👏. Does it tilt over when you land it? And do the props then hit the ground?

As of yesterday I've decided I'm buying one on lanch
it looks so good, i think i have a new target.
Sounds pretty good. Shame about the props in view: Then the GoPro fails (as mine did yesterday) you don't have a backup. Otherwise: cool!

Great video, really great drivers!!!! May I ask if it would make sense for you to replace the Mark5 DC O3 with afterburner?
do you have a build guide on this?
did you get 9 minutes fligh time with a normal LiPo or a Li ion battery?
I was using a 2200mah 6s lipo for the 9 min flight. Although the quad can carry it with no problems, it's not the lightest and so I'd recommend a 1550mah if you want around 6-7 mins with good performance
It's a super nice video! Did you use ELRS 2.4 if yes what are the Hz(50-150Hz?) you're using ?
Yes I’m on ELRS 2.4 - I have my packet rate locked at 150hz

afterburner or bob57?? can anyone help. i cant decide
Is it possible to upgrade the Crossfire to diversity in this frame?
You could yes, but it would be a bit pointless, as you’re never going to fly far enough to need diversity on a 5 inch.
Have you seen the Burj Khalifa dives with 5 inch? :)@@BenToogood
@@subaehaitham Haha yes, they are amazing! Choppershoot did them, right? Yeah I suppose they are the one exception where would probably would need it as you’d be in a null zone on that dive
I do them regularly with analog drone I built with diversity and this seems like a good frame for such dives I do@@BenToogood
HI,
in gopro with 8:7 and stabilized in relsteady in 9:7 do you have props in video?
Hello, no there are no props in view in the FPV feed. All of my footage was shot in 5.3k 8:7

how's the landing situation since the battery is bottom mounted ?
There’s a whole section on this in the video

Hi
i want to talk to you
$1000+ for the drone....to much.
You just broke
how much did they pay you for this commercial ?
Absolutely nothing 😁
thanks for video, but try to speak SLOWER!
why do all the creators always use the most shittiest music ever.....
Iflight is garbage just like all big brands
