"I remember how you told me your kin's different, on that sunny day. You made me smile, 'cause I was just about to say the same thing." One of the best lines in the song.
What I really like with Sonata is that they can make a song with no rimes at all. 95% (i know its just a random number) of today songs are build on rimes, but Sonata's songs is more builded on story and poetry.
It's truly a beautiful piece... I will always remember Sonata Arctica who where, are and always will be (in my opinion) the most cunning with emotional lyrics, musical genius and probably the largest influence on who I am. Thank you Sonata. :)
@SamAndHolly09 While I'm not going to argue that one was probably a witch (though I would argue it was the boy or both) a 'witch hunt' can also indicate a pointless search for a scapegoat so that title doesn't have to mean either singer is anything.
Balance is key, knowing how to flow with the story of the song like sonata artica or to make a proper rhyme is what makes music great, the knew kids are too childish to know this, so we have no choice but to survive mate ^_^
The Fivefold Kiss is part of the initiation ceremony. IIRC... the feet are blessed which walk upon the earth, the knees that kneel in worship, the gentiles which bring forth life, the breast/heart that carries loyalty and love, the lips that they may speak only truth. I believe it is an Alexandrian tradition (the founder is said to have been a bit of a womaniser). I believe both people in this story were Witches but they blamed the woman thinking the boy under a spell. I cry every time.
That's just it, he reveals himself as the cunning man by taking revenge on the town, poisoning the land and hexing the people. The townspeople then proceed to flip out and turn against him. and in death, he is reunited with the love of his youth.
uuhhh... if i not mistaken 1:11 in this song, has background sound that sounds like touhou (tatami stugiwo - symphony of imperishable night) at 04:26 and and 1:18 in this sounds like in UN owen was her? just my opinion
I know that's great and all and it's very impressive. But worry... many of our youngsters today don't care about rhyming anymore, but only spitting out their thoughts... without thought. Deathaura has it's lyrical measure... well, measured impressively well. The world of today's music is littered with spoken word because no one practices true rhyme anymore. Be conscious I'm not saying not rhyming is bad, but I hope rhyming isn't lost either.
witchcraft? maybe, but also difference, in thoughts, feelings, behavior, appearence. And intolerance, mostly about intolerance. Which is never a good idea, there's always someone ready to not tolerate you, and one day in fact, everyone finds themselves "somehow hexed"...
I took a look at the comments and noticed it was divided into two factions those that believe in witches and those that don't. personally I'm not sure what to believe seeing as I have never met a green faced crone with an army of monkeys but I haven't seen many things and the fact there could always be a possibility of finding something extraordinary so I'll simply wait to decide after I have seen it all or never see it all and remain undecided
You imply that witches are some kinda mythical creature. You imply there's a debate here. It's not a question of "believe", you just need to acknowledge. You really never heard of paganism, wicca, shamanism?
whether witchcraft was or is real or belief ultimately falls onto the individual of course if you want i can list a number of pagan cultures running from tengriism to norse cultures while i'm still very limited in my research into many of the eastern beliefs and id love to experience real magic but the more i search the more diluted it becomes as such if you have any legit sources ill gladly listen infact id like it if you did send me such information and to clarify i didn't imply witches were mythical or factual in fact i'm sure i said i'm inexperienced and shouldn't make full judgement
this song is so confusing for me to try and understand i always see the boy the girl and a narrator in it and the narrator expresses certain feelings and i just get lost
Have you ever tried reading a book? It's in thousands of books. Besides, why are you arguing over bullshit. Real witches don't exist, and the ones claiming to be witches are just bat shit crazy and can't actually so any magic. So if he wants his imaginary witches to fly that damn well will. My imaginary witches ride around on jelly bean unicorns, that run on android and are powered by mountain dew.
Err... Could you please define magic, first? That's the first step to reason about what is real and what isn't. And Jago... I'm still clapping at your first comment. :)
They do. You really don't know what magic is man. There's different levels of magic, the ones that can levitate, use a broom. Duh. You can't say they do or don't. "They" can't point to anything. There's too many things going on that we can't deny or accept anything.
I think this song and Caleb will always be the best Sonata Arctica songs. Just so amazing!
"I remember how you told me your kin's different, on that sunny day. You made me smile, 'cause I was just about to say the same thing."
One of the best lines in the song.
Wow ! That's really great. I heard it the first time today .👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I love their all songs, specially when its tell us a story. Its so poetic, and captivating!

That intro gives me the chills... it's amazing!
You know a song is epicly beautiful when at the poening and ending you get chills everytime you hear it
@SamAndHolly09

2:48-2:53 that transition right there makes me shiver everytime :)....
absolutely beautiful song. ✪

DmitriStormblood It's just new not knew, knew is like knowing but in the past tense. New is not old.

my favorite !
@StalinWalrus I believe it goes "I WAS you cunning man..."
but I could be wrong. Not a lot of lyric sources are accurate.
@stelthsaga I'm almost positive it was 2009 - it's from their newest album called The Days of Grays.
That's just it, he reveals himself as the cunning man by taking revenge on the town, poisoning the land and hexing the people. The townspeople then proceed to flip out and turn against him. and in death, he is reunited with the love of his youth.
This song gives me the chills.
Johanna Kurkela

Just imagine - one expert dance team, full teenage audience, one talent show. Is it just me, or did someone just get an idea...?

She is Johanna Kurkela.

1:11 in this song, has background sound that sounds like

Who is the female voice at the beginning? She's so AWESOME
Your mother!
Johanna Kurkela, the wife of Tuomas Holopainen of Nightwish.
@MountainDewFan0088 yeah.... what?
what year was this song released?
I Just thought the same thing, 5 days ago XD

witchcraft? maybe, but also difference, in thoughts, feelings, behavior, appearence. And intolerance, mostly about intolerance. Which is never a good idea, there's always someone ready to not tolerate you, and one day in fact, everyone finds themselves "somehow hexed"...
Unless you aren't getting what you want either way, in which case yeah that's a pickle.
Prove it. It's to help them steer since levitation is hard to steer.
I didn't like this song at all... But then afterwards i read the lyrics and listened again... and again... and again... so yeah, great song dude!
then they must. it is proven,,,they must also come to atlanta georgia ....they just need to

Two peoples are cursed! ewe
@0XxClaymanxX0
this song is so confusing for me to try and understand i always see the boy the girl and a narrator in it and the narrator expresses certain feelings and i just get lost
I think it's more of a revenge story :>
Not very, not all woman's voices, I have only few favourite, in this song she spoiled all ;/
i think that, one was a witch.
fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu I missed the like button =(
This isn't what "The Crucible" is about.
I'm not taking anything from television.
What for that woman there? Blaaah... :( But I like it anyway ;d
Experience. If you're using logic it's beyond that. Duh.
@madeofmetal1990 thats the worst thing someone can say..haha really
Not really, the song is about a witch.

witches do not fly on broomsticks just saying
Omg ahaha!! xDD love it
Why ain't this witchcraft?!
Err... Could you please define magic, first? That's the first step to reason about what is real and what isn't.
And Jago... I'm still clapping at your first comment. :)
14 people don't believe in witchcraft :))))

What you've never been burned alive at the stake? It's obnoxious and quite frankly irrelevant.
You dont like women? O_o
@BenMc1981 lol, it's still garbage
Odd picture choice
