    Here is some advice for learning wavebouncing. First, assume Samus is facing left. To wavebounce, you need to jump. It doesn't matter if you short hop or do a full jump. Full jump might help for beginners. Do whatever feels comfortable. Remember to assume Samus is facing left here for illustration. Wavebouncing would be like so:
    Dash left, jump, tap right, then "B", then left.
    I know how to B-turnaround and B-reverse. The former is when you jump, tap right, then "B". B-reverse is when you jump, tap "B", then tap right. You can hold "B" when performing B-reversal if it helps make this technique easier. When I tried learning to wavebounce, I would tap right, then press "B" and tap left. If you tap right, you might end up doing this technique too slowly.
    What you can do instead is dash left, jump, tilt and hold right with your thumb on the left analog and gently start by tilting it to the right and move it to the left so that as your analog moves from left to right, you can tap "B" when the analog is traveling midway to the right. This must be done while in the air.
    Getting wavebouncing down is the important part here. Don't worry if you're not getting the full momentum wavebouncing offers. You can practice that later. Just focus on learning on how to wavebounce. After you have the technique down, then try learning the momentum.

    Correction that some have brought up before, Charge Shot increases by around 0.25% for every frame of her 112 frame charge, not 2%.

    Hey Shadow, another great Samus video, I absolutely love your content, you are the best Samus you tuber there is. I have two questions for you.
    1. Do you play in tournaments? If so, you should post the gameplay.
    2. Do you have any advice for a Damus main trying to get elite smash? I’m at about 4 mil GSP consistently.
    Edit: I struggle most with getting juggled and finishing kills.

      Thanks man! And not very often, also I wouldn’t prioritize getting into Elite Smash over practicing offline, but just save replays to see your bad habits and try to improve on something each game.

      If you are launched in the air, but you use Bomb and still end up getting punished, try using your second jump instead. It seems that helps. Also, try going for platforms or the ledges if possible. Using d-air when you're trying to return to the stage isn't a good idea, so if you do that, don't. D-air is best used off-stage.
      As for kill options, you can try using n-air, d-air, b-air, or Charge Shot off-stage. When your opponent returns, pay attention to how high or low he/she returns. Most players recover low. You could go for Bomb at the ledge and then b-air toward the stage to potentially stage spike.
      If your opponent recovers high, using f-air or u-air can help take the stock. If you're on a stage with platforms, stand on the platform closest to the ground. You'll be able to cover more vertical distance. I have Samus and Dark Samus in Elite Smash. When I have one ranked #1, I play the other until she surpasses that rank. I switch back and forth to have a goal to attain. Give that a try.
      It seems around 4.6 million GSP is required to enter Elite Smash, but Shadow9 is right about focusing on growth. You might want to push for getting more hours in if you're not. I try playing at least 3 hours on my days off in Elite Smash. It doesn't always happen, but be sure to have a time set. Losing will happen, but keep at learning and you will do well.

    I noticed you almost always drop shield to cancel the charge. I'm not sure if you know this, but unless you're expecting an attack, this is actually highly inefficient.
    What you can do instead is quickly tap the shield button and Samus will stop charging without putting up shield, allowing you to move away a whole 11 frames sooner. To put that into perspective, both Samus and Lucina's side smash, highly committal, high reward moves, come out frame 10.
    In Smash 4 dropping shield was 7 frames, but it was nerfed to 11 in this game, for better or worse, because they wanted the game to be more offensive by nerfing OOS punishes. Not as God awful as Melee where it was 15 frames, but at least in that game you could shield drop through platforms, which was removed. So now you have to either jump, spotdodge (both highly punishable if expected) roll (which is now terrible in most situations) or eat the 11 frames and move left or right, which in a lot of case is the best option. So as you can see shield is a lot more commital than most people think.
    Good video all the same!

      I’m aware of the technique, I just didn’t feel like doing it after multiple re-records lol

      Or u can jump right before landing (if u hav ur second jump) and it will cancel the charging and u wont jump

    Great video! I've been trying to main samus after realizing my love for her options. One question, aside from b reversing, what are some other was to get out of a juggle? I'm having a lot of issues dealing with being juggled after getting launched. Though, part of it might be my own issue of knowing when to air dodge. That or even getting past a dash attack on the ground :/

    • @Dualgas
      @Dualgas 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Bombs help a lot, they increase her airspeed, reduce her hurtbox size, and put a hitbox below her, making her much more difficult to juggle than a lot of characters.
      As a general, non character specific piece of advice, save your jump and wait for them to jump up to up air you, then jump away and land away from them.
      Against characters with potentially lethal juggling like Palutena I would consider going to ledge to be safe since her ledge trapping is not particularly great, if she tries to up smash you, just ledge attack because you get invincibility. I would not intentionally go to ledge against a Belmont, Yoshi or Samus herself because their ledge trapping is phenomenal and being at the ledge against them could mean death.

    • @MetaTrixx
      @MetaTrixx  5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Hyper put it well, but yeah using Down B, reserving your double jump and going to ledge as a last resort or against someone with top tier juggling are gonna be your best options

    Can you make a video explaining what all the terms are and how to execute them on the controller? I'm honestly confused.

    • @MetaTrixx
      @MetaTrixx  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Which terms? Most of them used are pretty common knowledge amongst smash players, any you ask would more than likely be able to help you out

      Don’t input the dash immediately after firing, just be patient until the CS is already on it’s way to your opponent

  • @ErebusWolf
    @ErebusWolf 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I feel like you missed an important tech in this video. 99% charge. Full charge is something that you should never actually get. It has a different firing animation that makes it worse than stopping charging a frame before full charge. It's actually a big deal. Full charge is plus on shield vs being minus but safe. This can allow for follow up pressure depending on your play style.

    • @MetaTrixx
      @MetaTrixx  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s basically the equivalent to high charge, there’s a wider window there, and it doesn’t really have any different follow ups, thus isn’t really a big deal

    A correction on the Wavebounce input for Charge Shot:
    Jump forward > left stick backwards > left stick neutral > B (hold) > left stick forward.
    You left out the 'left stick neutral'. Leaving this out will result in a Missile wavebounce which actually doesn't really work for Samus/Dark Samus. Left stick must return to neutral before the B reverse for it to work.
    Other than that, fantastic video!

    Increasing in damage by 2% damage every frame doesn't sound right because it takes over 100 frames to get full charge.

    0:50 that’s impossible. Charge Shot takes 125 frames to reach full charge. If it really increased the damage by 2% every FRAME that means that a full CS would deal 250%, which it obviously doesn’t
