  • In this video I'll demonstrate how to break a single solid Step file into multiple solids.
    An easier process to open up a Step assembly as a multi-body part file is captured in this older, yet still relevant video. I apologize for the "fuzzy" audio. • Autodesk Inventor - Im...

    By far the best split tool video ever created for Inventor! Thanks so much. I was trying to miter angle iron in a concrete pit and the plane kept on overlapping and splitting across like you showed.

    Thanks for the video! Had tried to do this one a project we were working on but wasn't going about it the correct way for the result we wanted. Seeing you do this helped me figure it out!

    My question is.. How do u create a .prt with each of thouse solids? How do u turn a multiple solid .prt to multiple .prts..?

      That's a great question! While we don't have a video that deals solely with that technique, please see the following links which will point you in the right direction:

    I need some help please. I imported a stp file but it cannot be edited.... I mean, I am unable to create any 2D sketch on it. It is also imported with a green color instead of the common gray one as usual. Do you know why does this happen? Thank you in advance

    • @Team-D3
      @Team-D3  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Walter, you should start with ensuring the STEP file has imported properly. Please follow the steps from this Autodesk technical article and see if that helps to resolve your issue. If not, let us know and we’ll do some more digging into this for you. Why is the picture so blurry?
    Can't figure out what's happening on Inventor's screen?
    Why such a blurry screenshot?

    • @Team-D3
      @Team-D3  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Jo T, thanks for reaching out! The video looks good on our side, so can you let me know if there's a particular range where things get fuzzy? Also, double check your internet connection as that can make the video look blurry sometimes. Hope things clear up for you and have a most blessed day!

      @@Team-D3 What program do you use to capture the Inventor screen? I would like to try shooting my Inventor screen myself with the same program and then see how foggy it looks 🤔

    Can you similar steps in assembly?

    • @Team-D3
      @Team-D3  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sadly, not that we know of. You could create some section cuts, but that would be for visibility only. You could utilize the Shrinkwrap or Derive tools to convert the assembly into a part model, using the Split tool from there. Hope this helps and please let us know if you have any other questions.

    Does this work in sheet metal?

    • @Team-D3
      @Team-D3  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Constantin, sorry for the delay in getting back to you! Yes this technique can be used with sheet metal, but be careful not to create "angled" edges that will be difficult to cut out of the sheet. If you have any other questions, please let us know!
