I understood 15 years ago that FACEBOOK was not safe and I cancelled my account. I don't have FB nor Instagram. If you want to know about me, you need to give me an old-fashion phone call. If you don't have time to do that, I don't want your friendship neither do I need it.

    • @standandfight5573
      @standandfight5573 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

True, they certainly could but as dar as what it became we can't blame FB completely. Companies who use FB as an advertising platform could simply stop buying ad space. Also politicians and PACS have been incredibly guilty of pouring money into FB ads and they have been responsible themselves for making it a toxic political platform that took over the entire thing. We couldn't check in without seeing a newsfeed full of political ads and memes for the longest time so quite frankly to see these politician behaving as if they don't have personal responsibility for how it influenced elections and how they were perfectly willing to participate in that is about the biggest form of hypocrisy we've seen them being guilty of to date. I see far less people on my friends list sharing political posts and memes now than I do actual politicians, political pacs and other politically affiliated organizations doing so. After fact checking took hold, and trump losing the election, it seems folks finally started taming that behavior down and went back to sharing posts about their personal lives, posts about family and local happenings or whatever, where we had a long run of regular people engaging in nothing but politics whether it was sharing links and memes, starting and joining political groups , or just making their own negative political posts and that was being done on an extremely hight level by people of all partisan persuasions. Only they are responsible for what they decided to engage in and regardless of Facebook's role as a SM platform they planted the seeds for losing friends and family over it all by themselves for the last 12 or 13 years as it just got worse and worse during trump's campaign and term as president. Just saying, making a profit was something we knew Zuckerberg was going for when he took FB public and the politicians and pacs were more than happy to flood it with negative politics and misinformation. They didn't raise an eyebrow until they found out there were Russian trolls at work to influence American voters and the whole Qanon nonsense, then all the sudden they called Zuckerberg in and demanded fact checking. I;m not sure how these Senators can now pretend they aren't responsible for their own willingness to engage in that themselves now. Maybe they should have thought to police themselves and their pacs before it got to this point. As for all us regular folks? Well we can stop ourselves from doing it too or we always have the option of not using it anymore.

I'm confused because I thought that's what him and the other politicians in Washington did. It's bad when other people do it but not when y'all do it? Ok, so does that mean after Big Tech you're going to start going after politicians on both sides? Trust me, sir, to borrow a phrase, "They care more about their own bank accounts than they do their voters." So, don't be a hypocrite here. Go after the politicians who work for and protect corporate interests over their voters.

There are other algarythim control facts put in here like the voting and shot information, which for yrs ppl have been trying to make Zuck accountable for (Trump) but few would sign on. The real issue here is the eating disorder delemma that Zuck algorithms purposely bombard target search for, young girls because of their age, even when they look for healthy recipes or diets. Then the AI algorithm, or other "friends" (actually VICTUMS), will track success at killing themselves slowly thru constant messaging holding each other accountable. Lots of info on how to trick parents and authorities (if caught stealing food say you have ED etc etc). Most times victums evade detection well into the brain changing phase. Monitoring AI on any level should be a concern to all of us. It's nice it picks music and t v programs for us but the evil of AI is serious (profitable to MZ). The AI (Zuck makes billions off of) searches, finds, destroys these girls lives (some males also), and their families. This is the most deadly mental disorder in the planet, leading to death. Zuckerberg at this moment is sailing international waters figuring his next move. This desease hits a family no matter voting, conspiracy, net worth. This is a desease that parents are NOT allowed to get help for their kids even if there was a treatment center available, and there is in only a few states but the sick child must want to go and they usually die first. Call the 800 number in yr area and ask questions, it's probly states away. There is a loooong list to get in.
He has gotten rich from killing teens pre teens and starting an epidemic of self harm addiction.
Eating disorders include other forms of self mutilation also.......
Try to take a kid off a cell phone or off line they'll fail school. The targeting needs to stop. This what it's about.
At the beginning of the hearing the Senator says "He's received bone chilling stories from parents......"

@@lt2339 I agree with about the evils of E.D., but come on. I guess I was raised a little too old school by my parents, but Facebook should not be the only target here. Yes they've been targeting people with many different things, however, why are we so quick to let parents off of the hook here? What is with this epidemic of the last 10-15 years where we blame every child issue there is on EVERYTHING but parenting? If stuff like this happened in the 90's, parents would've been the first to be called out. I was born in 1988 and I'm 33. I have 2 kids of 12 and 9. There are several ways to monitor what your kids are doing on the internet. Even if they're not in your home. I have apps and services through our cell provider that allows me to see where the kids are at all times and if they've used cellular data, I can monitor any sites they've visited or apps they've used. If they're at home on wifi, my modem also keeps a record of every individual device that connects to it and what that device was doing on the internet for a period of 5 days before the oldest data is erased. I can literally go in and see like "10/13/21 2:35.28PM EST This device opened Facebook.
10/13/21 2:35.30PM EST This Device Liked a post on Facebook." That sort of thing.
When did we stop monitoring and protecting our kids? Facebook needs to face some music, but IMO I think parents need a wake up call as well.

Idk the extent of your coding knowledge but I think the algorithms they use are basically codes that provide parameters for the processors that guide them to make decisions. The full extent of their capabilities are limited by the original coding, which is good 👍
I studied civil engineering a few years ago and had to learn some basic algorithm and coding languages like MATLAB and Excell VBA so that's the extent of my understanding of computer learning.. It's not alot, but it's certainly a decent working understanding.
I agree with Musk, Micho Kaku, and what sounds like you that the capabilities of AI are projected to become more independent in the near future, so the time to set rules/regs to counteract that stuff is now!

Thirdly, why do you only care about “young women and girls”? What about ‘young men and boys’? Or should their oftentimes equal if not deeper suffering just be ignored in favor of exclusively focusing on the suffering of your gender? 🤪 If it hadn’t been for a male member of the species you wouldn’t be spouting your antipathy towards men and general ignorance here right now, would you? So maybe you should cut the male gender some slack for giving you that privilege? 🤪 Just a thought.

I am a fifty year old marries woman with two children ages 28 & 16. My sons are 12 years apart.
My older son was in jr high school when FB rolled out. He was semi active on it, but they still got out and played football, basketball, etc.
My youngest is thrust in the middle of high school. I hear him and his friends talking and making fun of girls who air their “dirty laundry” on Facebook. My youngest son is battling weight problems, and seeing these people who look like they should be on a billboard or magazine cover as his measuring stick.
I know because I feel it myself.
Ive been on FB since 2009. And I don’t get on much anymore, due to the people who use it to talk about others, create drama, air their political opinions and fight with others for the same.
While I enjoy seeing my old friends, their kids and their kid’s kids, I still feel the Internet is the downfall of our country.
We were all just fine without it.
It causes marriage problems for people, jealousy and even people angry with others assuming if you don’t know what is going on in their lives, accused of an assumption “you must have seen it on Facebook.” No. No I don’t.
I rarely ever get on Instagram bc all I end up viewing are some commercials selling clothing, makeup, or the Kardashians. I couldn’t care less.
I am however highly entertained by TikTok bc its funny. It’s informative and I don’t know anyone on there.
Ive made new friends. But again, it’s something I enjoy at minimum. I don’t have time yo sit for hours and waste time only to go down a rabbit hole of Joe Schmoe’s sister-in-law’s battle with her neighbors. Or see how many people showing their best selves. Not the real, raw people we really are, sitting in our robes snickering and rolling our eyes at those who appear “happy”. Then in a matter of months or years, they are announcing their nuptials with someone else. And really, who cares? I suppose we all are guilty of oversharing at some point. And we pump the brakes and realize, I’m watching the same ppl, with their pawpaw happy birthday in Heaven, their doggie who passed ten years ago, the same posts every year. It’s boring! Eventually these kids will grow up and realize that there are all kinds of ppl everywhere. We see them flexing their new Mercedes, their lake houses and new boats. Women with their lips blown up ten sizes too full. The end all and be all of social media is, IT HAS ALL BEEN DONE. Our kids will get that. They grow up, they get on with life. You cannot control people.
We all will still be curious, some of us happily and others sad to view the “have & the have nots.” But what is important to see is that are more people struggling and just want to be a part of something. How that is decimated is no different with social moreas. There are still classes, neighborhoods, cities and countries and we vary far and wide.
Some of us are chunky, some of us are thin. Some of us are beautiful and others disgusted with ourselves. We cannot do one thing about that.
We can talk to our kids, and people can stand up and tell people what is right and what is wrong with leading children down a path of jealousy, fear of missing out, being uninvited.
That is LIFE. We have to talk to our kids, teach them that what they are viewing should come with a warning. But at the end of the day, being ourselves is who we are. We all make up this world and we just all happen to be here at the same time! How it all happened seems unimaginable. One doesn’t feel anyone would target others. Try to explain that to a child. They don’t care, they just want to be a part of this social media giant. They want to be with their friends. They should not be allowed to “watch” or “target” anyone for any reason. I pray the changes that should be made, will be. But realistically, we need to be careful, better, and balance time online, PERIOD. Less is more and moderation in all indulgence is so important.
And if we cannot do that, what else is there left to do?

Back in February of 2020, I already knew how dangerous COVID-19 was, and that it was likely going to be a *huge* issue. This was due to understanding science, viruses, data, numbers, etc.
I was met with SCATHING criticism, lambasted, ridiculed, insulted, and a small 'social war' was pitted against me. These people touted that I was a hypochondriac and that 'it was nothing' + 'it would go away like things go away' (trump's words).
Obviously, this backfired on them, but... nope, not really: MY SOCIAL STATUS was the one which remained invisible and obscured. 💪😎🤟
Zero apologies have (obviously) been offered, as... the only thing which matters is toxic popularity and content. Not facts nor truth nor science. 😊
      It is what it is.

I was glad to hear some questioning about free speech and i'm glad some in the senate are thoughtful of it when asking about Facebook's misdeeds but I really would like to hear some clarification on how anyone's concerns on "misinformation" might clash with the goal of free speech. If any sort of discussion involves anything other than a list of verified facts then might this be deemed by Facebook as "misinformation"? And by the way, no one hold discussions by blabbering a list of facts. Speculation, hypotheticals and opinions arise in conversations and have been marked falsely as "misinformation" and i'm worried that Facebook is using certain false designations as "misinformation" as an excuse granted him by congress so he can screen content selectively in a way that would make advertisers happy and would simultaneously give him a chance to claim that he's honoring your requests. Don't hand him excuses to claim things are misinformation. He does that to WAY TOO MANY POSTS and frankly, I think freedom of speech is beyond compromised there already.

I was in an accident back in the 90s and had a doctor put me on opiates for over a year and a half, then abruptly stop.My life was completely ruined,my marriage my finance's and worst of all my freedom was gone...Every time I went to that doctor a representative for big pharm would come in the office...to push to sell his drugs. If they had only told the doctors that this is a good product but do not keep your patients on them for a prolonged period.I am now part of a class action suit against them but they can't give me back the years Ive lost, and now I have no family and no friends.

it takes a village to raise a child. My mom openly talked about her eating disorder that she formerly had and had a very open policy to talk about things. That didn't stop me from comparing myself to photoshopped girls who swore up and down they looked like that simply because I was 14 and stupid. So... no.
