I still remember you playing Go 2 It and you being so exhausted after you finished. Your Doom skills have improved so much. Interesting piece of trivia about Revenants. It makes more appearances in this WAD than any other enemy
I actually liked that you fell down with the Invulnerability and clearing out Barons , I think that was a better strategy. Still can’t believe how intense this level is.
What can I say? This is about as pure of a run-and-gun map as you can get. Running around trying to not get hit is where I simply cannot seem to get it right. I invariably get hit from time to time and die. Looking at you play is just amazing. I really have to check out whether there are any speed-runs for Scythe.

I like to think the reason the soundtrack is almost completely midi versions of real metal songs, is because doom guy is actually listening to a mix tape of metal tunes while kicking hell's ass! Cool to see Doom Guys music tastes also includes 'Symphony X'. Wicked walkthrough Big Mac, this level looks like fun until you make a mistake and go from 200% to 2% in a second lol.
Signal strength / reception is probably not that good in Hell. But Doomguy needs his tunes. So a low bit rate, easy to receive MIDI is probably the best that can be managed in Hell. But Doomguy's at least happy. ;)

I've never seen them stick together either. One theory is the Arch-Vile resurrected enemies on top of each other and they were forced into this orgy. All the better for me, haha.

I think that's the second slaughter map you've done since the plutonia experiment. Very fun indeed, the only thing is that if you die, you can't help but to rage, i can only image what you must've felt when you got blasted with that rocket at the end.

You don't need to apologize for your commentary, you've made quality commentary and useful walkthrough tips regardless of how insane this map is, I mean I was expecting you to go "ooh ah ah!" instead of actually talking for this one. This level will definitely play out differently for those of us using Zdoom tho, I don't remember cyberdemons falling, weird cliff side damage and monsters stuck together humping in any of my playthroughs so... Guess I miss out on the humping haha. You're very close to the finish line, you can do it, man!

You're welcome! And hey guess hell is a crazier place than I imagined. This is the level that reminds me the MOST about the original DOOM cover art out of any doom wad out there, even the original games, I suppose that's part of why it's so awesome.
To me, this is the first map that tells the player "Hey, wake up. It's getting serious now." This whole map is constant terror, and it's one of the first maps I think of when Scythe is mentioned. The entire thing is panicking, spamming the bfg and hopping between megaspheres. There's hardly a single place to calm down for more than a second. One thing's for sure, the map sure stays true to it's name. Of all the feelings this map gives off, fear is definitely one of them.
My strat is a bit different; I grab the Invulnerability immediately, go up the Revenant staircase, then use the second one for the Cyberdemons on the key ledges (there's enough juice to get two keys; the third you have to do with no protection [that's what she said]). But cheers for showing the easy method! Always helps!
I suppose it's good and not a mistake that you fell down both times with invulnerability. Indeed, seems 3 Cyberdemons is not a problem for you when they are groped and you have a place to hide. But being surrounded by enemies that teleport in is much tougher.
Huh, yeah, I never thought of it that way. And considering most of my deaths were because I got pinched by the enemies teleporting in. So I think it did actually help me. :)
That was a lot of fun to watch. Yes, I hate revenants too. They have too much health and they have those obnoxious homing missiles. Now I think I'm going to watch the video where you beat Go2it
Way to go, BigMacDavis! You've beaten Fear! I can't decide which is harder, this or Go 2 It, cause both seem equally hard to me. I mean, Go 2 It really paved the way for Resistance is Futile (Hell Revealed Map 22), No Guts, No Glory (Alien Vendetta Map 32), and of course, this map. This isn't the only slaughtermap Scythe has to offer, wait until you reach Map 30, but before that, you have Map 28, and even though it's not frantic carnage like those two maps, it's extremely nasty as it requires very, VERY precise straferunning, which of course isn't easy cause the enemies have a horrible tendency to get in the way, slowing you down, so the map is really based on luck, you'll see what I mean...
Oh, I know exactly what you mean. I've already practiced the upcoming maps. I can beat them all except for Map30. That's gonna take some doing, haha. And yeah, Map28 is all about speed, you get crushed to death if you're not fast enough.
They shoulda just called this map *NUTS* since this map is literally nuts and chock full of enemies! Whew! Well played BigMacDavis, well played! Made my butt tighten a couple times lol and that last outtake, that gasp! Someone edit that in for "It was at that moment that BigMacDavis knew ....he fucked up."
Up until that outtake, I had no idea the Cyberdemon from the top ledge over there could shoot into that alcove with the switch. It was completely unexpected. But it was so much fun, haha.

Very fitting name for this map. I played this map a long time ago and the only way I beat it was by speedrunning it. I can't imagine trying to get 100% on this...
Yeah, a lot of enemies, BFG party, but the map is very small and rather straightforward. Plutonia's 'Go to it' had a lot of enemies too, but it was also tricky and had surprises.
That is one of the best doom maps ever! When I managed to complete it for the first time, I ran out of BFG ammo and rockets and had to punch the last remaining straggler to death. It was very cool!
Those Cyberdemons didn't want you up there. They were like "Get the fuck outta here!". And what a heck? I've never seen those enemies being stuck like that.

Those Cyberdemons didn't want you up there. They were like "Get the fuck outta here!". And what a heck? I've never seen those enemies being stuck like that.
