Spencer what's the purpose of the straight edge when your seeming two pieces of paper together? Because if you do it right the seem shuld be invisable so why the straight edge ? Ive done it free hand and had the same perfect results? .
Are your lines perfectly plumb all the way down to the bottom? If they are not, if you use the straight edge and you follow the pattern with the straight edge, your line will be perfectly straight and a general contractor will have nothing to say to you if your line Isn’t straight.
Dont want to blast anyone here but apart from the obvious, i'd never go horizontally over any spliced joint. Diagonally to smooth if anything, then seam roll in and wipe. Also the knife must be laid closer to maximise blade contact with the material, we dont need as much pressure to go through minimising damage to the plaster.👍
Why did you not show how you fixed bottom edge of second sheet after the second attempt?? Bottom edge did not meet counter top. Very sloppy edge. Im guessing you can patch that open area with 2 double cuts horizontal and vertical. Best to show how you fixed BOTH MISTAKES.
We all fail sometimes spencer. I’m surprised you didn’t do the first cut between the pattern! Also, I gave you a great tip a couple of weeks back about aligning patterns before splicing. Keep it up spencer.
Chris R You promised me another tip on another technique. Please give it to me. And can you do a quick video on your original suggestion?!!! Even if you don’t have wallpaper to do it with. It’s hard to understand.
Spencer Colgan when I come across a fat edge on an external corner using DOMESTIC grade wallpaper I use a damp sponge on top of the wallpaper to almost pinch the paper on to the external corner then use a plastic spatula/spreader to smooth away from corner. A domestic paper won’t take the heat of a gun without causing damage. I’ll try and send you a video of my overlap and cut techniques using a patterned paper.
A simple double cut that turns into a piece neither long enough or wide enough. Least you showed that yamessed up. Fair play in that respect.
i guess it is quite off topic but does anyone know a good place to watch new series online ?
@Peyton Francis I watch on FlixZone. You can find it by googling =)
@Cooper Jacob Yea, I've been using flixzone for months myself :D

I double cut with a single edge. That sword he’s using is too much in my opinion.
