- It feels like everyone has been against Andy Muschietti’s Flash movie. I felt like one of six people that was actually excited for it, and I was actually really disappointed when it fell off the 2022 slot alongside Aquaman 2. The prospect of seeing the Flash lead his own movie in a kind of buddy-cop adventure with Micheal Keaton’s Batman sounded awesome - and guess what? It does indeed look awesome!

I’m very excited to have Keaton back obviously but I’m honest more excited for the Batfleck send-off especially since Affleck said those were some of his favorites scenes he filmed as the character ever.

So brilliant to bring back Michael Shannon's Zod. To me, he's one of the best villain castings in any comic book flick. Hoping to get a bit more dialogue from him, too
Honestly, he's probably the character I'm most excited to see return. Shannon was excellent in Man of Steel, and I cannot wait to see how they use him in this new iteration. Is he confirmed as the Big Bad of the movie, or is he one of many antagonistic threats?

@@Roache93 Fair enough. I'm actually trying to avoid fan theories and speculation as much as possible; if they're bold enough to show us Keaton as Batman, they've got to have an extra reveal or two hidden for the release itself.

While the return of Keaton to an Elfman fanfare was a welcome thrill, my biggest “wait, what?!” was the return of Zod (Michael Shannon YAY!). Mildly intrigued by Cousin Kara, but similarly intrigued if we’re going to get a glimpse at a Reverse Flash. Tom Cavenaugh’s TV Eobard Thawne is hard to beat, but I’m curious for a cinematic take nonetheless.
Is that why alternate barry is always in yellow? Eobard is my favorite villain of all time so i really want him to be front and center in his own movie. We'll see i guess

I'm betting on Alternate Barry becoming a version of Reverse Flash. Of course, they may just do a Sinestro, which with the reset coming up, they might just abandon completely.
Am I the only one who wants to see CWFlash show up in this movie? Seeing as EzraFlash showed up in Crisis in Infinite Worlds, I think it'd only be fair.
By all indications, it was happening during this movie, but then it got delayed again and again, so it's no longer tied in, but there still might be a CW Flash scene.

I wouldn't be surprised if it sucked. It doesn't look very polished neither visually nor in the writing. And it better focus on Flash instead of those multiverses and the fan service. I was happy to see Michael Keaton back but that scene was weird. No way he would act that way. But it's ok for two seconds.
@@jordansweet8054 I mean, to be fair that movie was written in 6 weeks and thrown together as quickly as possible. I don't think there was a world where that movie was ever gonna be good. This one seems to have been crafted with care and apparently it's tested unusually well with test audiences.

Michael Keaton returning as Batman is the only reason I wanna see The Flash, though it looks like it’ll be a cool film from the guy who gave us IT Chapter 1 and 2. Still blows my mind that it took WB a decade to release this film, hell my brother is as old as I was when this movie was announced.

From what I heard, only Batman (1989) and Batman Returns are canon. The other 2 happened but on another Earth. Burton happened on Earth 89 and Schumacher happened on Earth 97. Same for Superman. Only the first 2 are canon. Superman Returns happened on another Earth.

I'm glad people will get what they will out of this production but I just can't. I'll be waiting the whole time for the post-credits scene where one of the flashes is being arrested for strangulation and sex crimes.
I was always excited for this movie. Not because I liked Ezra’s flash, but for the potential for a “multiverse of madness” for DC and actually using the prior Dc films to make cameos. MoM left me with blue balls and I want this movie to make me bussssssssss 😂
I don't know how much their plans have changed, but Crisis On Infinite Earths connecting the Arrowverse with the DCEU via Barry and then immediately going into development on this film seemed to make it pretty clear they were going big with the multiverse and Barry was the key, and bringing in Keaton seemed to make it clear they were planning to utilize previous IP. Hopefully they're less conservative about it than Multiverse of Madness was, because if this is the last hurrah of the DCEU I'd rather see them just go insane with it. I don't know if there's any truth to rumors that stuff was left on the cutting room floor after Gunn came in but I hope it wasn't multiverse stuff

I’m sure the movie will probably be good. Maybe even phenomenal. But let’s not WandaVision No way Of Madness this film. Why did anyone think Professor X was a core part of Doctor Strange 2? Why was that an expectation? Pleaseeee, I’m legit begging the fanbase to get hyped off of what is actually shown, instead of what they THINK is going to happen.

We might actually get a really great Ben Affleck Batman that doesn't murder anyone, we can hope.
A lot of people think they are keeping Keatons Batman in cannon as 70 like he is in real life. But considering how he’s moving I think it’s more of a dark night returns take on him. Where he may be in his 50s
Given that he has the chest brace in that one scene, I suspect he is supporting his body with technology, much like some older Batman versions have done.
I'm not usually a stickler about this, but am I the only one who thought the CG looked rather fake?

I don't think people were against this movie as much as its long development has it shouldering the baggage of the rest of the franchise but that's just my reading. This looks really good even though DC has to win my trust back. The Ezra of the situation is still a factor honestly but I'm more than willing to give this its day in court.

I’m in the same boat. I was on the fence at first, but after reminding myself about what exactly Ezra Miller has done, I’ve decided not to see it
I am a bit split because while what Ezra has done is appalling and criminal, they will still get their salary thats in their contract even if this film bombs. But a lot many people's blood, sweat and tears go into creating a film, arguably more than the lead actor, and they (the expendable workers like vfx studios or the creatives) are the ones getting the boot if the film bombs. I am going to watch it because the premise seems interesting to me. Though if the studio continues to use Ezra as flash after this (since this was mostly shot before the criminal activities came out) then I probably wont support it as at that point most people involved did it despite knowing what all Ezra has done.

i think this will succeed because it appears that these multiverse characters will be DEVELOPED heavily. i sense so much personality coming from this story, compared to secret wars, which, unfortunately will be 100000 marvel heroes and villains just smashing into one another ie endgame
I fear that will be the theme of the whole Phase 5, what with multiples of Kang and whatnot. Really yearn for a simpler comicbook story, y'know.

Not the biggest DC fan in the world myself, but I am quite eager to see this movie. It's EXTREMELY rare for a movie to go through development hell and still turn out good. I'm very keen to see if this movie is as good as Gunn says, or if he's just blowing hot air. Ether way, this does seem like a great sendoff to the Snyder-verse, though I wonder if this will just add more fuel to the rabid Snyder-verse fans. Makes me kinda extra annoyed though that Henry won't show up seeing as Affleck and Gadot (allegedly) are. Would've been nice to see a proper sendoff for him, especially after the way WB has treated him. They owe him that much, at least.
I feel a flaw i feel might hamper this movie is that it feels like it's suffering from the same problem that the MCU Spider-man films are have: they don't sell you on just Spider-man. In each film, there was always someone and something propping up the main interest in the story (Iron man, Nick Fury, Dr Strange and the other Spider-Men) and I'm not really selling you on JUST Spider-Man. In this movie, I'm not being sold on just the flashed being sold on Michael Keaton Batman, Supergirl, this whole giant Multiverse filled with shiny new stuff and at the core of it, the main character, The Flash, I don't care about him. It's so concerned with all this other stuff that would not even giving the flash chance to tell his own story in his own movie, it's about everything else. It might just be me but I'm personally not really that hyped for this and that's not even touching on the whole weirdness of Ezra Miller's situation.
Oh yeah, I HATE that about Holland's Spiderman! It like they don't have faith for a Spiderman to hold his own in his own fucking movie, when Spiderman has EASILY the best stories and characters out of all Marvel's heroes! This might feel a team up, but more like Civil War than No Way Home, IMO.
I wasn’t excited for this movie. But my opinion is completely flipped now. I thought Keaton and affleck would be “man in the chair” or Yoda like wisdom giving characters. But to see Keaton in whimsical action scenes is awesome. Paying homage to snyderverse movies is so hype as well

The Flash looks insanely good and Im 100% watching it only for the real Batman's return aka Michael Keaton He will always be the best Batman put to screen. He is Batman and he still rocks it in that Batsuit. Plus very intrigued with Michael Shannon's Zod ruling or destroying humanity thanks to Flash disrupting the Multiverse and may have well killed Cavill's Superman altering Man of Steel

I wish I could say I was as enthusiastic about this trailer. I tried to not associate the film with Ezra Miller’s controversies, yet even when not considering that his acting just seemed bad. And the action to me looks more like the typical Black Adam-style fights which is getting rather tiring. And if this movie does as poorly as Black Adam, I could see this killing the multiverse movie instead of defining it. Not to mention the development hell this has been through and the balancing of different franchise styles has probably made the script a nightmare. Hope I’m wrong though.

The trailer made me realise how well DC batman movies can always be. When I remember it's just a flash movie, it has me concerned.

Nah, I can see the story beats that reference Flashpoint pretty well. And if they have a good grasp on that, then the tone of The Flash should come through.

1:40 i love, praise, & preach literally all the videos of urs that i’ve watched, weather they be DC, MArveL, or whatever related, but here, ^in this specific statement, it’s like cmon lol u know this is because flash literally goes to those spaces, in the other movies, they are literally either isekaing into the main universe or are in alt versions of past universes that are actually wholly new spaces with their own vibes, & yea they & their scores got little screen time but at least we knew there was plans for em to have at least a bit more screen time without it hurting the main narrative. Wasn’t gonna post this at 1st cuz u did base this off the trailer b4 seeing the actual film, but like naw the gripes on their own still stand lol.
^^ i will say tho, after having seen the film, it did mesh all the vibes together very nicely & the 2 batmen did not overshadow the 2 flashes at all.
i even think they still lacked the lil backstory they had planned for em, & Keaton especially sorta doesn’t work as well without it.

listening to the video and a quick look at the comment section shows the reason why, it's the same thing. Batman, Batman, Batman, Batman, Batman, Batman.
As a fan of the Flash knowing that such a personal story such as Flashpoint (that of which there is no more intimate story of, aside from maybe a few bits of pieces in Rebirth where Barry questions his own mortality) is extremely disappointing. To know that one of Barry's best storylines will never hit the big screen again is just the worst.
This movie is just a big red reboot button with lots of glitter and sparkles from other universes.
I love Batman, but I have no hurry to take Batman content as if it was my next fix because I know Brave and the Bold is on the way (the perfect point for a Batman movie in my opinion, because playing catch up with all the Batfamily would take forever). Without even considering that there is no way they'd ever be able to cast a Reverse Flash more chaotic than Ezra "the demon of Hawaii" Miller, it's just a movie that while it looks pretty it just lacks the soul its source material has.
I welcome the fact that the old DCEU is dying aside from a couple of shows that I wish survived like Waller did. This is the sorry state of DC movies before a hopeful future.
Dude, this movie just looks incredible, and I hate that I don't know what to do in June. Ezra Miller has likely already gotten the money for the part unless their contract provides a percentage of revenue from the box office, but even still, Warner did reshoots with them while the law was out to arrest them for the terrible things they did, so it's not like boycotting a movie for one person, multiple people are at fault. I have nothing against the other actors, the people that made the movie, and all the post-production workers that had nothing to do with Ezra's crimes, I want to support their work, but they're not going to be getting my money because they've likely already been paid, too, the studio is going to be getting any money brought in. I'm sure that the following week or two after the movie has been released and made the bulk of its money, Warner will announce that all connections with Ezra Miller have been severed, so it's not like we're at risk of more movies with them, and this movie is set to reset everything anyway, but it looks awesome, and I want to see it. There's no winning.
All very good points. I imagine that there would have been extraordinary cost and disruption to the lives of dozens of other artists if the producers had intervened to get Miller to go spend a month or more in secure residential mental care before resuming filming. Of course, as someone who has benefitted from mental health care for myself and my family, I think that would have been better for Miller and those around him. But finishing the film kept the studio from having to bring out the contract lawyers for all the creatives. Also, stopping the production would screw-up schedules for multiple artists and studios who each needed to move on to their next project, or just throw two or three years of work out the window. Firing Miller and bringing in Grant Gustin to finish or reshoot the film would have required an insane amount of guts. Both pro and con: It was a very human choice for the executives and creatives to put their heads down and push through the project.
DC would have the biggest hype with this since before BVS if they hadn't got Miller front and centre.
Maybe it’s just me, but as a big Flash fan, I cannot stand the concept of this movie. Instead of a movie making use of Flash’s mythos and his characters, he’s getting a stupid nostalgabait mashup with characters I couldn’t care less about. What person under the age of 25 even cares about Keaton Batman? Who wanted Zod back? Or Supergirl crammed into this movie? This just feels like a soulless cash grab instead of the Flash story I always wanted.
Ive always thought the other Batman films were from the DC multiverse. I wonder if we'll get an MCU cameo? That would be awesome.

I always liked the DCEU and wished it was better. I loved Henry Cavill and obviously can't stand Ezra Miller, but...I also liked Batfleck a lot, and heck. As sad as it is that we never got a really good Trinity movie with Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, and Gal Gadot, I...well, whatever.
This will be one and done, hardly the “ multiverse” film to beat.
tbh it's the first trailer's editing. it made it looked like a comedy of some sorts and not serious at least for me. But I'll still watch it on IMAX haha love the other teasers, especially the one you used on the intro

I just do not like the idea of having the film being centered around the Flashpoint storyline. I was never a fan of the story and thought it damaged the Barry Allen Flash character beyond repair. I mean this story is why I am more of a Wally West fan, when he is written properly and professionally. The Ezra miller situation is just another reason to stay away from the film as I never really liked the actor in the first place.

For the real life SQL where is the flash dgoes to the Supermax prison for a long time. Because I will watch this but I refuse to pay to support anything Ezra does after his let’s not forget much hushed up terrorization of many many people. You know, crimes? It’s why I feel James is being asked to say it’s good by Warner Bros because they cannot wrote this one off and it’s cost them too much on filming and covering up/paying off the victims at this point.

I don't mind them having some superspeed (i.e. enuff to catch a train), but I don't like that they can race the Flash and easily keep up with him. Not only does it make them even more overpowered, it also kinda diminishes the Flash, who's main ability is his superspeed - he's literally called the fastest man alive & yet any Kryptonian can keep up with him most of the time.
Ngl, I'm not a fan of how fast Flash is either tbh. Flash is possibly my favourite DC character, but he (like most DC characters) just feels too OP. A character that moves so fast he can freeze time should basically be untouchable - his *only* rivals should be other speedsters.
Imagine if we get Arnie and Uma Thurman.

Unfortunately I'm still not excited for it tho bcos I just hv no emotional connection to these characters from the previous films. I would've been hyped asf if this was in the Arrowverse or DCAU, but the DCEU hasn't been so disappointing that I don't care enuff tbh. Hopefully that will change with the new DCU under James Gunn's direction.

I am actually looking forward to The Flash film. I feel like DC seems to go all out compared to some of the MCU films. I'll be supporting The Flash before the disappointing reboot.

Haha I've never thought DC could've taken advantage of their constant and inconsistent reboots. If their history shows anything I'm not sure we'd get the version we could've have but fingers crossed this is new territory.
