We have to seriously question our sleuthing credibility if we allow our emotion to supersede our logic and inject that much faux-relevance into an irrelevant book. When we imply that the book somehow reminded police to investigate harder in so many words, we're forced to base that on total meritless speculation of what we think police were doing or not doing. A sleuthing 101 no no. The romantic in us wants the book to mean more than it did, the detective in us knows better.
