The brass threaded inserts on the housing(engine side)can loosen up on you when removing or installing new thermostat. Dont over tighten. As such, not a bad idea to get the thermostat case and housing too. Recommend replacing the o ring too since you already have that apart.
Great video but . . the torque settings you ask for are 7-8 ft/lbs, but the torque wrench you link to has a minimum torque of 25 ft/lbs - any links to a lower torque wrench?
why did he take the back housing off the block when the point was to replace the thermostat? Couldn't you just take the front piece off, replace the thermostat without removing everything else?

At 8:46 you can see that you cracked the housing... did it leak after install?
I know your voice from 1A Auto. You are pretty good teaching.
Just found out that’s the issue for my vehicle. Will be doing this job this weekend. Thank you!

This is a fantastic video. Great explanation of each step. Thank you!
hi, what if that sensor/ switch that goes to the engine right next to the housing got broken ? at 4:18 what is it for ?
Do we really need to replace the plastic part that goes into the engine ?
Hi there question, is it possible to already connect and torque the thermostat on the houseing and install as one unit?
What type of silicone paste lubricant did you use?
How did you line up the assembly so easily?
Is it necessary to take off the housing?

Awesome tutorial 👌
The metal outlet from the engine makes the thermostat housing to not line up...I hope there won't be any leaks 😮
Thank you❤
Thank you for posting Great job perfect video 🎉

Exactly.
Is it necessary to torque the housing or can the screws be snugged in
they should be torqued down, if they are snugged in the unit may leak coolant from the gasket not creating a good enough seal
I'm wondering how you're able to reach that area without removing other stuff. Coz that space is very tight😮😮😮
What would be a proper quote time for labor time on this job?
can the thermostat be replaced or foes the entire assembly need replacement?
Wjats the part number for the oring? I cant find it anywhere
Hey thanks for the great video! Could you be more specific about what type of silicone paste you used? Thanks!
Awesome video nice and easy 👍

You could say that it's compact
Why replace the housing?
Isn't the thermostat the issue?
