Pretty crazy how everyone's nose differs, but Dylan Blue deserves the win. Smells way more attractive than any BDC imo and for less than half the price, no-brainer 👌🏼
BDC doesn’t show up, he is perfect and he knows it.
Just depends on the age, and/or sophistication of the person smelling the fragrance...
Dylan Blue is a younger man's reach, while BDC is an more mature man's reach...

I own and love both Dylan Blue and BDC Parfum but I get the most complement from Dylan Blue. Nothing about Dylan Blue scream teenagers, it’s just a fresh and clean scent that any man can pull off in any occasion
100%! Yeah I always think of Dylan Blue as an older scent as well. It wouldn’t be my first suggestion for a teen.

I just got a decant of Dylan Blue and I love it! Perfect for casual summer evenings
I'm pushing 40 and Dylan Blue works with me every time. My wife bought it for me a few years ago because she loves it, the women I work with love it, I love it. I've had a bottle of BDC before and, for the price, I'm not buying it again. I love Chanel, I do but the performance is just not there with the male fragrances. BDC, Allure Homme Sport, Platinum Egoiste.... I've owned them all and the price to performance is just.... meh, at least for me. The Versace bottles I've got have gotten me way more attention than the Chanel bottles did. Eros Parfum, Eros Flame, Dylan Blue.... all bangers!

Dylan blue is the most loved by women out of my collection of 33.
Wow, I was not expecting that at all. I personally love BDC, but I’ve only ever gotten one compliment on it - from my aunt 😂 Now the Allure Homme Sports (regular and extreme) are a different story, and much more favorable with women in my experience.
CASHEE is my scent of the day!
I prefer Chanel personally, I think it also smells more expensive, it's a work of art. But I get so many more compliments and better performance out of dylan blue. plus with it being cheaper I wear it far more often. The first day I wore it I got told I smelled "divine".

I work with a fair few women but one of them is into fragrances as well. Knows her brands, buys the good stuff, buys her husband the good stuff, knows her notes etc. Dylan Blue was the one that got her attention. This was the one that got us talking and made us friends. Every time I wear this one, she loves it. Even bought a bottle for her husband!
They probably added pheromones to Dylan blue cuz ain’t no way that it’s better than Chanel

Dylan Blue is a banger. Def deserves more credit than it gets. I need to be in the mood for that incense note, but on skin, in the air, the sillage gets a lot of positive attention. Shocking that it’s less than half the cost BDC. I still wear BDC EDT bc EDP dries too powdery on my skin, but it just doesn’t last. Not on my skin at least. Dylan Blue on the other hand, lasts hours on my skin and even when I think it’s gone, people still comment positively. I’ll always own a bottle, as well as Pour Homme and Eros EDP. All are fantastic.
I'm a Versace fanboy too, mate! Dylan Blue, Eros parfum and Eros Flame will always be in my collection. They just sit so well on my skin. Chanel fragrances just don't last on me. And for the price you pay for them... I can't justify it. They smell amazing, don't get me wrong but I'm not rich and I've burned through all my Chanel bottles and still have the others left!

Honestly I’m not sure! If I had to guess the top 5 (excluding the versatile anytime fragrances) would be something like Hawas, Light blue intense, Aventus cologne, lacoste Blanc eau fraiche. But never really gave much thought into it.

I wore BDC EDT today all day, it was very pleasant experience, very unlikely it would ever offed of revolt other people, with Dylan Blue it could be a coin toss, just never know.

Owns and love both. But I wear BDC at work and everyday occasions, and DB for more date night and day out occasions. Just has a different vibe to it.

BDC is a whole other level. Very well designed. Smells masculine yet refined and not aggressive. I tried Dylan blue and maybe it was because of how it reacts to my skin but the dry down was very soapy... Not bad but it just smelled like soap.

Maybe it's because I'm a 52-yr old woman, and a mother of 2, and a wife of 26 years who has had many and varied life experiences, but I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Chanel Bleu. I can sniff my man long and deep when he wears this! I will never tire of it or trade him in as long as he wears this. PERIOD.

In most blind tests, Dylan Blue almost always gets the overall win. Those who says otherwise are probably the ones who already know which brands they are and already have biases with the Chanel brand and the price difference.

Guys tend to really like it. When the original BDC EDT came out it was a compliment monster for me. But it’s been 14 years since it released. I still like the EDT the best of the bunch. But it’s now in that everyone has worn this scent category
I have chanel at home, but just tried dylan blue because of that video. I think dylan blue is in my taste too intense and also a little bit more synthetik. Not bad, especially for the price, but I prefer chanel.

BDC is easier and more pleasant on the nose, VDB soon after opening gets very rough and dirty. Surprisingly Prada Ocean is closely compared to VDB (Ocean is more modern and has better finishing touches). P.S. Jeff maybe your BDC bottle has gone bad again??? LOL

There's something to be said about Dylan Blue being able to compete with fragrances 2x to 3x the money & still come out on top most of the time.
Price doesn’t determine a good smell after all. Plus online prices are the only thing different price wise as in store it’s still right around the same price a $15 fragrance can smell better than a $1500 one. A good scent is a good scent regardless of price 🙌😊

Dylan Blue is awesome it's more of a rugged masculine scent for a brash kind of alpha male.Its not teenage in my opinion Blue De Chanel EDP is more smooth and sophisticated reserved so it's a matter of personality

@@lawrences.6298 Agreed, bang for the buck is a big thing for a lot of people. It certainly is for me. If Chanel could make male fragrances last as well as No. 5, No. 19, Coco, Chance etc.... I'd have no issues buying them. But I can't stand respraying a £140 fragrance when a £60 will do better. Hell, Dior charge silly money but they last on me. Fahrenheit is a bottle I'll never be without. Been rocking it for over 20 years. Sauvage Elixir was gifted to me by a mate who works for Dior and it's now a bottle I'll never be without because the price to performance is there. It['s a damn shame because I loooooove the way Chanel fragrances are crafted. They're amazing.

These tests aren’t really fair . I sprayed the BDC EDP on a strip just as the video was starting and I must say , what you smell on a strip is COMPLETELY different than what I smelled on my skin 3 minutes later . But ostensibly , I think live models would be a whole new level of distraction, for a fair judgment as well.
This is a compliment test. Paper is the most neutral version of the scent. It is also how the perfumers test their fragrances. Roja Dove even did a post about it.
Skin can be better, can be far worse, or it can be exactly the same as the neutral version of the scent. So you test in neutral. Can it be better yes, but it can also be so much worse. What smells good on you might smell awful on someone else and vice versa. That is why you test the most neutral version.
Was this test based on the opening scent of the fragrance or the dry down?

I think of Dylan Blue in that 25 and up crowd personally. It has to much spice for me to be a teen focused scent. But then again it’s a blue fragrance and anyone can rock those

Smelling better is always in the eye of the beholder. Save some money and get something Like Explorer, lacoste L’homme intense.

Yeah, you really need a drydown on skin since you apply a cologne and it's hours and hours of drydown vs the short amount of time with the opening. And I know everyone uses strips, but when just comparing two, put both on your wrists. ;) Which is to say, to me, Dylan is probably nicer on a strip, but Chanel on the skin I like way more. (And I'm wearing Dylan right now)
Skin can be better, worse, or exactly the same. While the strip will remain neutral. Everybody’s skin is different. Test in neutral. It’s also how the perfumers test. Roja Dove did a post about it a while back. That’s why the test is on an even playing field.
Very interesting outcome but at the same time not really surprised. Clearly for the most part, you can see how one's preferrence is vastly different between men and women and if you were to ask the men the same question, I believe the result/outcome would have been just the opposite.

It’s a nice fragrance just DB swept in and took over. I personally think the EDT is the best version of BDC as it’s fresher and floats in the air nicer. But at the end of the day BDC has been one of the most worn fragrances the last 15 years. So many other good options out there :)
Every time I’ve worn Dylan blue is get a compliment . Out of the like 7 fragrances I have that’s the one I get complimented the most on . A woman told me I smelled yummy 😂

what's your favorite fragrance of all time in terms of just scent? If you had to pick 1. I know it's a hard question, but which 1 or 2 come to mind immediately when you think of that
So I wear a different fragrance almost every day and don’t really have a favorite. But if I had to rebuy a fragrance if I lost all of them, the first 2 I would get would be the discontinued Givenchy Gentlemen Only Casual Chic, and Montblanc Legend 2013 special edition. They are unique compliment pullers for me, and nobody else wears them. I will always though keep my collection current so if something new comes along that I like, will always rotate that in 😊

I was buying summer fragrences the other day. It was between light blue intense and dylan blue. I tried them both and I didn't like the juniper in light blue, it smelt like grass to me for some reason. I like the sweetness of dylan blue better.
DB for those that want to smells like others. BDC edp for those that want to smells elegant different than others.
BDC is smelling like everyone else though. Its been either the number 1 most sold or number 2 most sold fragrance every year world wide since 2010.

They're both just okay to me but I prefer Dylan Blue. The problem with Dylan Blue is it can smell almost BO like to me and my girlfriend. The last time I wore it (last summer) right when I saw her she said "you're stinky" as if I had just gone to the gym (I had a tank top on). I felt the same way about it that day. Maybe it was too hot for it. I guess maybe it's the musk note?
I own BDC Parfum and while I like it as a unique blue fragrance I don't wear it all that often. It's almost too rich for "blue" situations (spring/summer) and I feel like there are choices I enjoy more for fall/winter. I'd probably reach for it in spring mostly but I haven't used it once this year. I used it on cool summer nights last year and a couple fall/winter days.
I can see Hannah's "nail salon, astrigent" analogy with BDC EDP. It has an almost acidic/alcohol vibe to it. Very citrusy but in a zesty bitter way. I don't hate it but I don't love it as much as I thought I did when I first got it.
Yeah for me DB is a fall/winter cooler spring blue fragrance. I can definitely see the funk coming out of it in the summer.
I'll have to try it this fall or on a cooler night.
Have you tried the new Lacoste L.12.12. Blanc Eau Intense? Or plan to soon? I thought about blind buying it after the early reviews. But that's probably a bad idea. That line is hard to dislike.
@@bladerealm124 Blanc intense is good! The entire line is nice. Intense reminds me of like an orange slushy from like a juice shop. Like how juice shops smell. With the greens and citrus. It’s going to get some solid use once it heats up. I wore it the other day and enjoyed it, but think I’ll like it in the summer heat even more

The other big blue fragrances are great too and may even get more compliments but wearing Chanel has connotations with class and luxury. It’s not even about the scent in some cases, wearing Chanel is a flex on its own. Event the big niche houses struggle to beat the association of chanel. The fragrance is 12 years old and still beats out new competition. Legendary scent imo
@@MrNelson94People wearing fragrances simply for flex or for the brand power are doing themselves a disservice in my opinion. If people are not urged to give a good compliment or ask for what brand of fragrance you are wearing then it just means it wasn't really that good to begin with but just an ok scent. Then the so called brand power or flex wasn't worth the high price other than to yourself only which in my opinion defeats the purpose of even wearing a high priced luxury brand when a mid tier designer frag like Dylan Blue gets more actual compliments to it.
Women complicate things trying to impress men and vice versa. We buy expensive stuff mostly because we attribute their(competition ie male or female) success in the sexual market place to the expensive stuff they own.

I'm kinda bummed because i just purchased BDC EDP just because of the name brand, and i turned down VDB EDT which my mom offered to gift me for another fragrance 😅😂 Apparently, I would have gotten more compliments from VDB.

I just started getting into fragrances. BDC it’s probably the most overrated scent I’ve ever smelt. I think the reason why people love it so much is because of its impact that it had over a decade ago. To me there’s just so many other options that are better like literally hundreds. I absolutely love Dylan blue though.
I blind bought BDC edp, the performance is a joke I had to check if it was fake, same experience with most channels I tried recently “Sephora”. This brand is just overrated

@@Cooliewhistles Gio Absolu is pretty different scent to me. As it’s a fresh fruity sweet bubblegum fragrance with a sexy woodsy drydown. I like DHS2021 but that’s more of creamy citrus wood scent.
Smells like acetone is the ultimate insult for a fragrance. A very expensive acetone. Imagine buying something just base on brand and price and keeping on convincing yourself it's the better fragrance even if people around you thinks otherwise. Yikes

In 2023 I agree! BDC has become the ex boyfriend scent as it’s been top 1-2 selling most worn fragrance in the last 15 years (and that’s because it smells great). I’m always for smelling not like someone else and the chanel for that is CASHEE.

This is a compliment test. This is how they came off to them. Women scientifically smell more than men do. It’s just what it reminded them of.
