it is good in to sound on quality. I have it and now using in Two ch Audio. I switched to Denon X4700h.
For good quality of sound please do following.
1. Upgrade your speakers, if you could. Like Polk or Elac
2. Buy one DB meter with C weighting
3. Set crossover to 80 - 90 Hz
4. Set Left and Right speaker to 77-78 db, Center at 80db and surround at 75db
5. It has pre out for powered sub. Try one powered sub

1840 is the entire set model no 2071 is the model of only av reciever. Typical yamaha nonsense

Hey i have setup my system. But when ever it detects audio it makes a click sound before playing audio. Does this happens to you??

Hey, thanks for the review. Could you please check if it has eARC or ARC only on its HDMI? I.e. will it accept 5.1 pcm stream through audio return channel? Or compressed streams only? I can't find details about that anywhere including in the user manual.
It has ARC earc is needed for dolby atmos systems only. It does accept 5.1 pcm stream
@@techynani6691 Hey, thanks for your reply. I also contacted Yamaha themselves and they confirmed that indeed there's no earc onboard. It will accept 5.1 pcm, but not through arc (i.e. not going back from the TV). And that's what my use case unfortunately is.
What does it mean, it doesn't support, 5.1 surround sound via HDMI arc?😢

Hey, great video explaining your experience with the system in great detail. If it's not too much trouble could you put up your system settings somewhere for me to look at as I ordered this system today and it would be of tremendous help when I set it up. Also, I didn't understand the grey area bit you mentioned about Yamaha service. They won't recognise my warranty if I buy it from Amazon?

Regarding warranty i heard they don’t usually honor Amazon purchases but most units outlast warranty so very little information about it I’ll let you know if I know more

Quality wise they are similar but 3072 has more features such as bluetooth and dolby vision support. Amplifier wise they’re similar

As you said,I don't know how I set up good sound settings, so I am disappointed with sound quality and especially with bass .

Any idea if i'll get full digital 5.1 surround if I connect via hdmi to my TV, then connect my PC to my TV via hdmi? So to be clear my PC won't connect directly to the sound system, what I want is to pass through the sound to my tv THEN to my PC. (My PC is in another room which connects to my TV via a 15ft fiber optic hdmi)

Yes Yamaha is really good brand. I m using it more than 15 years. This is 2nd AVr with Yamaha high end Bookshelf Speaker n woofer I m using. But most shop suggest polk etc speakers. Do not know y?

Logitech is just outdated buy yamaha
Now latest MRP is 46990 and one may get it for 40000. Pioneer HTP06 we may get it for around 60000
