Kinda wish we got adult Simba as the big one. It would give a reason to get both of them

Yeah there’s no reason to get the big one besides it’s big. The smaller one is better in nearly every way.
I think adult Simba would work better as the smaller one.

I do think Smaller Simba could've used some balljoints, but its fine. Of only Lego could make balljoints in more colors besides grey. Plz, give us, like, yellow or something! At least.

@@jjohnson2445there was a Lego ideas project that also includes Nala. If you build both of them they're tail is matching a heart. Like all the other merchandises from the lion king

Even if it's a display model, it still needs to be sturdy enough to withstand being moved to a shelf or being accidentally knocked when walking past. Pretty unacceptable imo
It never fell on its own or while being moved. I built this at a friends house, showed it around in my house and it’s been sitting in my room for weeks now for the review. It’s never fallen off until recording.
HOWEVER, I’m sure the more times that it has fallen off, the weaker the parts are becoming. So I can see it in the future falling apart by just moving it
The small Simba is the one I'm definitely going for!

Really hope Lego sees how finnicky that head build is. I feel like it’s an easy fix that they overlooked
When there were issues with WALL-E’s head, they designed a new mechanism and you could apply and they’d send the parts out to you free of charge. Maybe they’ll do something similar for Big Simba?

The small one definitely looks better, and there just isn’t enough going on with the big one to make it tempting.
I’m actually happy that I like the smaller one better 🙈🤣 so I can save some money for the other Lego sets I want😁

For me it's the little one definitely. As a Lego Disney collector I am so happy to finally have a Lego version of Simba to add to my collection, that is compact, so so cute, and cheap. The big one is just too big and too expensive, I still have other Disney sets in mind !!

The big one looks awesome, but it’s just too fragile, and there is too little poseablility for me to find it worth it.

Disappointing that the big Simba's legs don't even move. Most of my Lego sets are for display, but I admit I do play with them on occasion, and I am definitely going to keep my eye out for the smaller Simba.

My only complaint really is I wish the mouth could be closed on the big one. It feels a bit… creepy to have him always smiling
I am a huge fan of Disney, and this 18+ buildable character of Simba looks absolutely stunning.

I hope they make a Timon and Pumba that fits in scale with the small one, even though, its older Simba that meets them.
Simba meets them when he’s young, actually.

Yes, but the small model, is baby Simba, the one Rafiki holds up. The big model is the correct age for when Simba meets Timon and Pumba.
I want a Pride Rock play set with Simba, Nala, Scar, Zazu, Rafiki, Pumbaa, Timon and the three Hyena. It would probably cost over a hundred dollars though.

The bad connection reminds me of the Optimus Prime set. Those big rounded studded pieces combined with the technic stick just doesn’t hold strong enough.

I like your comparison of it to the Bowser. The Bowser model is so incredible that it’s one of the thing that got me back to Lego building.

I already pre order Simba, I am getting both. I am just a fan of the movies and I buy the sets for entertain myself and display.
Simba!! Both of them look great! But, I like the smaller, $20 one more! I actually kinda want to get him (the $20 one)!! He looks so freakin' adorable! Amazing to have some The Lion King love! Hope for more sets!
I'd love for a Pumbaa, Timon, Adult Simba, Scar, & maybe Nala, Mufasa, and/or Zazu! I can imagine a 2-in-1 set with Pumbaa & Timon!
I preordered the little one. I really don’t like the larger one.. why did they release them at the same time??
Poor business decision IMO.
It's just like them releasing the small R2-D2 and Hogwarts while the big ones were still available. Or releasing a big Cinderella's castle as soon as the previous one retired instead of releasing a different castle and then redoing Cinderella's castle years later
I don’t have a problem with them releasing it at the same time. It’d be like releasing a small 4+ Elsa castle with a large one. They’re for completely different demographics.
@@Ashnflash Actually, no. Thats a bad example, cuz in that case it'd be a 4+ set & 18+ collectors' set. Ofc, the 4+ set will be not-great, cuz its for 4 y/o, hence the title. Both are on the extreme ends of the line. In this case (Simba), its just 2 sets at different pricepoints. & ofc, one's for only display, the other for play AND display. In this case, both sets are actually closer.
@@fennekin1750Or in simple. Lego knows that the lion king has a very huge fanbase so they released a large one and a smaller one for young and old cause the lion king is for everyones age. That's why the smaller one is cheaper because it's for little children while the other one is more expensive because it's a set for adults, a display set
@@Simbala-bq5vy I was more-so talking abt Ash's example..... Also, technically the $20 Simba could be an adult display set. The big one is only for display; ONLY for display. The small one is for play and display.
They need to make a Timon and Pumba. As well as Mufasa and Scar.

If I liked the lion king more I could see getting the big one, but personally I’ll just be picking up the small one
Great models. I think they should have used the thicker round pieces for all of Big Simbas tail, it becomes a bit to skinny for my liking.
I like the big one but it would've been better if it were more poseable. I hope someone could find a way to solve that problem. There are a lot of disney charcters that lego could make them into lego buildable characters.

Thanks for the review. I love the real world breaking of the set during a review. That is a total design flaw I cannot overlook. I will not be picking up the adult version. I may pick up the little one on clearance.

Both Normal Sized and Large Sized
Was so excited for the big Simba, not so much now. The neck looks too skinny and I don't like those whiskers. The smaller one IMO looks better.

Big Simba in the thumbnail looks a bit ugly in my opinion but it looks good in the video too
I was impressed by the design visually but it seems functionally it’s not a good set.
The design for the way the head and tail attach is horrible, how could they seriously not do it a better way that’s just ridiculous 💀

I am not buying the 18+ adults one because it's so ugly but the smaller "kids" one because it's so cute😊🤨
I'm starting to feel like the more we say "it's a display model you're not gonna touch it" gives designers more excuses not to put enough care into creating sturdy builds. So in result pieces and large chunks constantly fall off/come undone creating a constant loop of buyers and reviewers complaining.

Why are u SO negative about the head falling off ? It is a " Display " piece dude. You are also not gonna roll with the Death star right 😅 And ... Its lego, so you can manupilate it and be creative to make a " spinning head " solution. I am allready figuring out how to get simba numb feets like bowser.
It’s not the consumers job to fix a faulty build. The slightest movement it’s falling off, you see it three times in the video. That’s not counting the amount of times off camera. I can’t think of any other “display” pieces that also fall off like this.
Reminder, back of the box shows this is a play feature.

The hat is not attached the same in my instructions so i think you doing something wrong
Nope. Like I showed, I extended the axle rod and it slid back down. Watch any other review, you’ll see the same
@@Ashnflash Not at my instructions. I dont have the axle thing. You can look at the instructions online upside the body where do attached the head that part ist closed. I must attached the head with dark yellow click pieces.
The axle piece is from an early part in the build, but it lacks enough connections to hold it so it breaks there. Finish building and move it around enough times, it’ll fall off
@@Ashnflash Yes i see it in your video. But again the top of body is closed also in my instructions. And my head will be cllicked by dark Yellow pieces. You can see in the online Building instructions
Yes, it’s enclosed when I attached it. But it breaks there because the stud connections are too weak
these are some really disapointing sets honestly being so limited for posing (expect for the small simba)

I don’t understand the point of releasing two simbas at the same time. As a consumer, if I wanted one I’d just buy the cheaper one
These are at entirely different prices and exist for entirely different different reasons, play and display. I think They are testing the waters to see how the adult market and standard set market react to Lion king sets.
But the simbas are two completely different product categories. And Lego has been doing this for a long time, star wars for example currently offers 3 different millennium falcons and 2 x-wings...

But that’s your opinion, if you don’t like the big one then just don’t buy it, there are plenty of people who will buy the big one and it doesn’t effect you so what’s the big deal?
Totally agree. They've been making some odd decisions lately. You're just sabotaging one of the sets by doing this. If they released the big one first, it would've been a definite buy and then they could've released the small one a couple of years later. Or vice versa

It is not a blatant copy, nor is the idea of a buildable character an original idea. It also has never reached 10k to my knowledge, so it’s not like LEGO declined it and did it themselves.
