For Portland Japanese Garden's art exhibition, "Painting Paradise", artist Daisuke Nakano provides an exclusive studio tour and behind-the-scenes into his process when creating his paintings. Nakano is an avant-garde visual artist who uses the centuries-old Nihonga-style painting technique to capture the elusiveness of light and vivacious spirit of wildlife through his screen paintings of imaginary botanical landscapes. Nihonga (日本画), a traditional style of Japanese painting, is created using solely organic materials - such as pigments from vegetables, minerals, animals, silk, wood, and gold.

I have 2 queries - 1) how do you mount the paper on the wooden frame? 2) how do you make the drawing after covering the paper with silver leaf?

The procedure is entertaining and the painting is very nice. But i suffered through the white colored subtitles. My eyes ached so i didnt finish watching. Sorry.
