Skull Island and it’s equivalents have really scary and dangerous creatures you never want to meet or mess with. And the Skull Crawlers rank very high as such monsters.
I won't lie, those things are the closest things to what the Skullasaurus from "Pooh's Grand Adventure" would've looked like if it was real (and not the echoing sound of Pooh's growling tummy).
One of the most unique of large creatures I've ever seen. I do enjoy monsters of the large reptilian variaty. If their speed and agility doesn't get you their tounge will. Absolutely phenomenal design.
I think the dark, eye socket resembling structures in front of the Skullcrawlers’ eyes are probably something similar to the heat pits that certain snake species have
Story doesn't add up. Full grown adults Kongs defeated by skull crawlers in the thousands. But one singularly adolescent Kong solo them so hard their numbers dwindled to the point they were driven underground?!
@AJ-kt5zo yeah even then still Titans in general live long lives for the most part. Wouldn't die out so fast especially before killing singular lone Kong

They are really cool and were in the original King Kong as the two legged lizard crawling out of the spider pit.
Imo, they are one of the most multitask Titans, they can breathe underwater, shoot tongues to grapple you,and are very smart.
I bet Godzilla would eradicated them once and for all , all by himself.
Why would he, tho. Skull island is balanced now. There is no need for him to mess with them
