Because of that, she’s now flourishing. Whether she gets into Brown or not, she has a passion and a goal, and what makes her so inspirational and amazing is that she’s actively doing things to get to where she wants to be. We cannot compare ourselves to each other because ultimately, we all have something that we can bring to the table. That can be compassion, talent, or even just having a fun personality. You can do what she is doing too. If you’re unsure about your passion (I know I am), try different things. Join a class. Meet new people. Do what scares you (as long as it’s safe). Eventually, I believe that you will find your passion/what you love, and then you just need to take steps towards accomplishing your dreams. Life isn’t the colleges you go to, or even the dreams that you achieve. Life is about surpassing the struggles that are thrown at you. Life is about growing yourself, and dying without regrets. Push yourself to get to where you want to be instead of comparing yourself to others. Even a tiny step forward is progress. You can do this. I believe in you. ❤️ Edit: this is my current view on what life is. Other people may see life as something else entirely, and that’s totally fine.

As of late I’ve felt that I’ve been wasting my years as a highschooler during nothing and I regret that but your message has made me realize that just maybe I’m just looking in the wrong places. Now, after reading your comment, I believe my calling is out there and I l have to go find it. I no longer will take seat down and wait for life to come to me, I’m going to spring out of my seat and grab life by it’s wrist. I will calling so thank you :) I hope you’re doing well and that you have found your calling as I am finding my own personal passion.

These college portfolio videos make me happy because, even if I don't get accepted into Brown, I still get a snip bit of a person's unique story. We probably won't ever meet, but I'm truly grateful you decided to post your video. You inspire me to reach and accomplish more in my life, while taking in the beauty of life. I wish u all the best!

It’s basically a two-minute video that’s supposed to describe who you are as a person. You can go all out with the editing like other videos you’ll find on TH-cam or you can do a simple sit down video talking about yourself and interests. The goal is to give the admissions officers a good image/idea of who you are, what you’re interested in, and why you want to go to Brown.

However, due to COVID19, Brown decided not to hold interviews and, in turn, encouraged this year's applicants to submit a video portfolio. (If a college 'encourages' or 'highly recommends' you to do something, you should make efforts to do it!) So, if you are thinking of applying in the regular decision pool, I hope you take this opportunity to plan out your video when you got a lot of time!!! Good luck!!!
So this sounds weird but I’m your doppelgänger and I know you’re like ten times better than me but we practically have the same face. Your noses structure is different from mine but we have the same eyes and mouths. It’s really weird and I’m freaking out about it rn. Loved the vid tho.
probably considering they love the people that stand out in comparison to the bland person. but don't try to be something you're not, from what i'm told colleges see right through it. just my 2 cents, im a HS senior applying so im not insanely reliable i guess lmao
brown is unique, they have a greater emphasis on “quirkiness” for their admits!! however, creativity is a wonderful trait for any college and it’ll help you stand out in the process :)
