Michelangelo was the only one that I was a little hesitant to get because of the wig. But because it’s removable, I’m grabbing it for sure just so I can have all four turtles. It looks pretty cool. This line actually kind of surprised me on how much I actually like some of those times. Can’t wait to get my hands on this guy and complete my turtles.

Some people aren’t too crazy about the ToG line (I think mainly because it’s a crossover shoehorning TMNT into MotU), and that’s fine. I really like this line! I wasn’t sure how I felt about it at first either, but it just feels like a lot of fun! As great as Masterverse is, I always prefer checking out the different reviews on Origins and all the current sub-lines it encompasses, even the weird crossovers. The designs for these next 2 waves of Turtles of Grayskull really feel like they’re hitting their stride! So yeah, I thought the He-Man wig looked kind of dumb at first too, but the look has definitely grown on me quite a bit. The fact that it’s removable is a huge plus. It just fits so perfectly with Mikey’s character being the party dude. (Incidentally, Mikey is my wife’s favorite Turtle, and our son’s middle name is Michael.) I do appreciate that the nunchakus can actually flop around with a chain, even if those chains are plastic. Some of the Mikey figures, especially the PlayMates ones, feel so cheap and stiff. Nunchakus need to be free and wave through the air like you’re conducting an orchestra. So far, I only have Mouse-Jaw and Sla’Ker (which I just found at Target yesterday). I believe that Splinter-Skull and 2BopSteady are the last 2 Target exclusives that will complete Metal-Boto. Hopefully, I can get some funds together soon to start picking up the regular ToG waves as well as catch up on Origins in general. I always liked the concept and grew up in the 90s with those characters, but I just never got into the toys. However, I really enjoy this crossover with the Origins line. So far, I like most of the designs and choices they have made with all the characters. It's great to finally see Mikey now in the line to complete all four Turtle brothers. I didn't like the wig at first from early images I saw online, and I wasn't sure if it was gonna be pegged on like Donatellos helmet. But it removes and fits the head really nicely and doesn't look that bad. It seems to fit Mikey good for reason going back to his parting personally as you mentioned. The weapons and battle Armor is also really cool. I'm all in with these turtles of grayskull lines, and I really look forward to more. I'm not sure who the other two figures will be with the Metal Boto build a part yet. I know it will be the Target Exclusive box figures.
Glad they made the hair removable, shame they didnt offer removable head armour on Donnie as he had to be the poor soul that got Man-At-Arms dreaded helmet.

Great review! Definitely turned out better than I expected and I like the He-Man wig now. Turtles of Grayskull is my favourite MOTU related line at the moment, it’s pure silly fun and it’s reminded me why I actually liked action figures as a kid. My two favourite 80s brands coming together is so awesome.

Yeah, I really wish Michelangelo had a regular chest underneath his armor, as well as Donny’s head. Now I wonder if they’ll ever make them in their original iterations after this.

I'm guessing they have some kind of license agreements to what they can do or not do with specific likeness rights with certain figures at specific time frames at the beginning of the release of the series. Maybe later, they can make an alternative Donatello variant with no helmet .
Are people really complaining about the wig? If it was glued on like Donatello helmet, I'd be pissed too, but as long as you can take it off, it's fine. I only have Leo. I only saw Donatello once.

Most of the complaints or concerns with his wig being glued on were expressed a while back when some of his early teases came around the internet or social media. The concerns were a combination of not wanting a He-man looking hair piece glued on so you can remove it and display him like an old school Ninja Turtle with just the head and colored bandana. I think that's the preferred look for people who are fans of the Turtles franchise with the main four Brothers. Donatello is the only Origins Turtle Brother who has that helmet. Plugged and glued on, and you can't remove it without pulling it apart. I guess he would have a big plug hole in the back. His Bandana also looks like it's part of that helmet.
Michelangelo has always been my favorite Ninja Turtle. And I have to wait months to get him. I wish he was released in wave 1. I have him pre-ordered on BBTS & it says JUNE. I don't want to wait 2 more freakin months.
I always liked Leonardo the best with the double swords. But Michelangelo was also always awesome when using those double Nunchucks. The Origins pulled him off really well. I wish the battle armor came off. But it does look good on him. That hair piece isn't that bad looking on him for a joke. It's also great that it comes right off if you don't like it. Yeah, these turtles aren't even in stores yet in the USA . I mainly find this stuff on eBay early. But more cost, unfortunately. @TheRickster80s Cool! That Attack Trak was always fun. I built and painted the Monogram version. It's sits on my shelf. I also still have the Vintage Dragon walker as well! Yeah, I'm not sure if Origins will get to those any time soon.

I have Godzilla and all kinds of wacky things in my collection. I'll probably make a collection tour update at some point. My favorite figures are definitely the Origins line. And then Masterverse, of course. They do two completely different things for me but still reinvent the Magic of Collecting the MOTU classics or that vintage line as a kid. As far as affordability! I get stuff early on eBay or other private online sellers for a higher cost to have newer items ahead of time for review if I can! I think the cheapest and most exciting Origins figures for me are probably the Motu Origins sold through Mattel Creations now👍

But I'm glad to it if it helps people see newer content early and what's coming out down the road. Unfortunately, I don't have control of where so many of these figures that people really want end up for sale. Usually, Ebay or Big Bad Toy is the best option for the USA. I would say places like Smyths or the whole Shabang online is best for Germany unless it's exclusive.
I have great respect for the work, energy and time you put in. I get most of it easily from Smyths Toys, the rest from Mattel Creations and BigBad. I always see it from you first, before it appears in Germany or I get it from the USA. 😊

Probably because the Man At Arms style helmet would have looked too big on his head if it was separate. it’s nice and form fitting the way it is.
