Hey Eric! Do you ever comp various takes to get a final performance? You seem to perfectly nail these solos in one take, so I wont be shocked if you just say, "No." :)
Since he is a trained and skilled live performer I guess he can nail every solo in one take that he composes. But for studio production you sometimes split the recording in more parts to make blends and held notes between different phrases possible. So it depends on the solo if you record it in one take.
Am I the only one who thinks Eric Gillette looks like Petrucci from the 2000 era? Speaking of which, Petrucci looks like a bear now, pretty sure his wife + kids stuck with him for his name and money
