I'm with ya. The base model is my almost everything shoe. Yeah it's not as durable as some other shoes. But I use this thing at the track, easy runs and all speed work. Only thing I don't use em for is the long run. Looking forward to these new drops!
I love the base model and always have. I understand the shoe is less durable and you can’t wear it on every run for the next few years. But when I want to feel confident and fly fast there isn’t anything on this world that makes me feel better than the base model. Will be getting new ones in the next few months.
LOVE THIS... so true... its a real balance with the BM. Trade a bit of durability for a LOT of feel. Trade a bit of weight, for a LOT of feel. ALl of it was designed in effort to extract the essence of the gait... I'm so happy that a core group of folks have resonated with the design. The industry has changed so much since it came out (about3 short years)!

I can't wait. I am excited about so many of the changes. The eyelet coloring is awesome. The iridescence is killer. I've never torn any of your shoes, but I do like the anchor improvement. For some reason, two of my daily trainers have tongues that want to slide to one side. The colorways are all joining the collection, and she was right about pistachio. Beautiful. Sometime, maybe 2026, I wish you would do another colorway like the old model you have in a box behind you; it is a light blue shoe, red laces, and a yellow sole. Magnifique. It looks like it might be one of the most beautiful shoes ever, but I can only see it through the box. 👏👏👏
OH MAN... you're referring to one of the OG base models... such a rad color and design from the first year we were in business. Even though I don't particularly love sublimation printing, it was so cool what we could do with designs! I will open up the samples one day and do an episode on them all... thank you so much for the motivation and encouragement man!!!
Glad to hear the Base Model is keeping consistent. To this day it is still my favorite workout/5k racing shoe. It may not be the most durable, but it makes me save it for those special running days where I just want to feel great and run fast.
no doubt about that... definitely lacks in the traditional durability department, but with that comes some running magic in the feel. Stoked you're using it as intended!!!

grateful for the motivation!!! The race model is scheduled to arrive at the end of September, so if there is no delay, we hope to release it the first week of October! I have found that there is almost always a shipping delay of about a week, though, so I will keep everyone posted as time hones in!

Now that there is more durable "Daily Trainer" perhaps "Base Model" could be renamed as "Tempo Model". It is more suitable for higher turnover workouts.
I've even thought about calling it the "tuning" model... both work, because its split down the middle with use-case. Either way... I dig the suggestion:-)
My running days are behind me with endeavors into bodybuilding for the foreseeable future, but I will ALWAYS have Atreyu shoes for my cardio sessions. You guys rock 🤟
Colors look great, I especially like the silver treatment on that base model. Really enjoy these chats and seeing the nuts and bolts of the process. And discussion on logo size, lace color etc discussions. Need to get running more so I can buy more 👟! Hoping the race model is a huge hit and lets you fuel that creativity.

Man I like the Atreyu badge on the current daily’s. I see what you’re going for with the smaller badge, but I’d vote the larger logo. I can’t wait for all the color ways. Some sort of gray/light blue color way??? The pistachio looks sweet!

I’m a low key style kinda guy but the shoes have always been my statement piece. That terra cotta/pistachio is gonna be on my feet and may be in need of a new base model about the time that saucy new color way drops!
I know what you mean... my watch straps and my kicks are typically my statement piece too... every once in a while, I rock the band T's out on the town, but I typically like to let the shoes do the talking:-)

Is new material coming into use on the base model more or less breathable than the current version? It looks thicker and is more durable which makes me think probably not, but it does also look more "meshy", so it's hard to tell.
its quite a bit more breathable, which I think it a plus in most aspects. Its also more durable, but retains that forgiving sock-like essence. Looking forward to seeing if this material is a great solution for the long run. We've used it in the Daily Trainer, and folks tend to enjoy it.
BMv3 is slated to arrive in Q1 of 2024! We're exploring more colorways with the Daily Trainer, and the base model will become even more like a standard tool. There will be some evolution in the product upper in the upcoming year, if all goes to plan. In short, we're shrinking the BM colorway portfolio, so that we can realize its full potential. "One step back to take two steps forward" kind of thing... Hope you enjoy!

White material stresses me out. It’s dusty here in summer and snow in winter. Seeing those dirty shoes after the full bird, I can’t handle that. I’m very picky about when I’m using my race model, for my daily… I need to be not be hopping around everywhere concerned about dirtying that white

the saffron will be hard to top, but we will give it a shot!
New colour schemes are great even yellow laces. But I personally would like to get dark colors inside the shoes for more practicality.

Sounds great. I’m loving it. Also just did my first trail 10k race in the base trail and it did great!

We don't have a testing program at the moment, but definitely will sound the alarm when we establish something more formal.
