Hmmm - I am using pre-stressed beams under my slab (intergrated reinforcement to tie them together) My beams are smaller, lighter and stronger than the proposed pore in place ones shown here. I get 8 meter span this way and a clean looking roof. Your video on pre tension / post tension gave me the nudge in that direction - Thank you buddy.

But from the architecture, we have the layout of column fisrt, and we have layout beam from there and determine the size of beam. And final one we determine the slab thickness based on beam layout. It is converse with your procedure?

Tangential question: I've always been curious about how you pour a concrete slab for buildings like that. Is it often just a plywood form that is assembled and then disassembled floor by floor? I've also hear about precast slabs that lock together, or steel decking that you can pour the concrete onto. What are the use cases for each? Thanks!
Hi, it depends on how much you can spend. Wood forms are the cheapest and steel forms are relatively expensive. For the precast members , they allow us to get better quality reinforced concrete elements. They are used in viaducts' slab, for instance.
