Dear Gill, thank you so much for your lessons. In this day and age I really appreciate it when someone takes the time to make a video to help some random strangers. You have a soothing voice and your explanations are always insightful. Thank you so much, I am looking forward to your next videos!
Dear Gill. Can you do more examples using Do, Does, Was, Have. In negative y question form? I need improve my speaking please. Thank you. I admire you. You are very smart.
The word "sorry" isn't only simple but useful when I want to remain polite. Plus, it's also important to learn both polite & rude words & expressions. Anyway, thanks for sharing a great English lesson! I still need your great help for my English!
Excelent video! My first language is Portuguese. I was in Seattle 3 months ago and I used "sorry", "could you repeat, please" all the time. Thank you so much to help us with these amazing video classes!
I was lucky because U found out this video. And now I gained new phrases that I can use when I speak English with my friends. Now, I would be polite enough by using these phrases. Thank you.
I had a friend who, when she didn't quite catch what you said, would simply say "Please?" with a slight movement of the head and the same kind of upward inflection as you describe for "sorry." To me that sounded both warm and inviting, yet polite and cool, at the same time - possibly because it was so different from what I was used to hearing and yet refreshingly apt for the situation.
Since I watched and listened to your videos: I can't help falling in love with your voice, your accent, your teaching methodology !... I've turned into your fan number ONE... Thank you very much for your great job, dear Gill ! ... Best wishes from the Caribbean coast of Colombia, South America !
I really like the way you teach some English sentences Madam..you made it so clear, so easy to understand. Besides that, you always emphasized the needs to be polite. Thank you very much Madam.
I love this video. I communicate with a lot of leaders and non- leaders at work, and it's really hard for me to say "sorry" and "please" all the time. Additionally, the word sorry doesn't even exist in my languages, so that makes it even harder for me to use the word. I've had good and bad practices on using both words and I still struggle with it today. I feel like I need to work on this, as well as my tone, and delivery. Thank you.
Wow!!! you are so old!! I mean you are the most mature teacher on line that I have seen.A very dedicated teacher or motivate teacher...you are the best!!
Hello Gill! I really love your videos, I can always learn new things from them and I've already watched them for many times! can't wait to see your next video! Thank you!
Hi Gill. I have beeen following you for a while and I am so happy with the way you teach the language of Shakespiare. In fact, every time I finish watching one of your videos, I forward it to friends of mine who are learning the language or improving their skills. Kind regards
Marisa Martino Foggia Italia You're a very good teacher, able to speak clearly and to explain in a practical way, with a lot of examples taken from daily life. My best congratulations!!!
iam from swiss and my english isnt very well, but i dont have any problems to understand this lady. all what shes is saying is pretty clear and easy to following.
A really good video to watch, this happens to me at least a dozen times a day because people don't speak properly. I need to know the correct protocol, another excellent and practical daily use video from Gill. Thank you. x
Marcos Siqueira, actually we do not use the word "Cute" for old people, it is not polite to say that, I know you're student. So, cute can be used for Baby, children or pets. Some parents would not appreciate if their baby is overweigt. What I suggest to you for prising people is to use the words like; Nice, Great, Lovely, Adorable...That's why you got some reaction here. Note: You're doing well, keep studying, all the best to you buddy.
Hello lady Gill by coincidence I've seen you're videos and I found them awesome since you helped me improving my English, and I hope to have the pleasure to meet you one day because you are such a great teacher and by the way I am a student in Algeria who is passionate about English language and British culture. your's faithfully Aziza

I am British and I disagree that saying "pardon?" is old-fashioned. I am in my mid thirties and was taught to say "pardon?" by my mother as a child when she was teaching me manners. I always say "pardon?" and I don't think it's a sign of being old-fashioned. It just means you were well brought up and were taught good manners. By the way, I love your accent and your manner of speaking. You have a very relaxing calming effect on me.
My uncle is Canadian and he uses to say 'I beg your pardon?'. Would you consider that old fashioned? I'm asking because English isn't my first language. So I don't have a feeling for what's old fashioned or more modern style, so to speak. Thank you.
I agree with Anne. I knew all the things in the video but what's been told about "pardon" was the only surprised me. I learnt "pardon" from my German friend in 2000s and I love the word, how it sounds. "I beg you pardon?" reminds me of "Are you being served"? series, I find this phrase very politely beautiful.
Hello Gill! Huge thanks for your lessons.Everything is cristal clear ! Your education method is so effective! Moreover you are owner of big actor talent! This helps my understanding !Thank you again and good luck! With kind regards,Irina Skvortsova

To me that sounded both warm and inviting, yet polite and cool, at the same time - possibly because it was so different from what I was used to hearing and yet refreshingly apt for the situation.
Some people in the Midwest use, please, as in please repeat it instead of pardon or . Sorry.
